Thanks for getting back to me about my Fosi P3 - it was a struggle, but I got the tubes in - you kind of have your heart in your mouth when you press them in. I wanted to share I have just added two Fosi ZA3 amps in monoblock form. Please take care when you put wires in, as it is a little confusing to deal with them as monos. They sound good to me! I am using a tube preamp - and I am very happyI will the sound. I think... there is a low-level hum, but pretty much inaudible. maybe I need to tidy my wires...
I am a Brit in China - so I guess I am very early. I was surprised that they arrived today. I have a V3 - and messaged you regarding that as changing the opamp was not fun... Watched your P3 video and bought that preamp. As said before, getting the tubes inis no picnic - but Fosi were great in terms of aftersales. I am impressed with the monoblocks - but I think they are also the beneficiaries of some interesting front end components. But - they sound fine to me. as said,, a little caution over making sure the cables are in the right places in mono mode - I worry about an amp that is run without a load...@@UTILITARIANTVUK
I have this setup and I was "forced" to add a DAC! My low-end TCL has no RCA outputs, only optical. Also, I use the DAC's remote to handle the volume. Wish Fosi offered a P3 with a remote!
These are great , cant wait to test it , if it will proof itself then I will be replace it with my Fosi P1 tube preamplifier. Sound test will be good !
It doesn't add or take anything away from the sound of the V3. However, you do have the added bonus of tone controls to change the sound signature if needed.
I have the Box X2 and then I saw this go live so I just purchased it, however the thing I noticed is there is no grounding post for my TT. Does this create an issue?
hello... thx for that cool vid! i have a pair of active yamaha hs50m speakers (with a passive monitor controller atm). do you think the p3 is good enough to be used with active speakers or do i need the v3 additionally? i guess then i'd rather go with the b20a pro.. i mean 300w is a bit much but i just need a better sounding bluetooth compatible controller. thx for your opinion!
I agreed with essentially everything you said in your review, fantastic job with that portion. Those mouth noises you kept making are unnecessary. As a fellow Loyal Servant of His Majesty the King (still can't say that with a straight face as Charles just a ponce) and being of essentially the same age, we must have had similar upbringings and education at the primary level. I'll subscribe because I found that I agreed with your assessment, just please turn down those mouth noises.
New tubes need to be burned in for a while. GE tubes are ok but New old stock Mullards or Philips are better. (EF95 type) You can also use Russian Voskhod tubes (6J1) but those can be very susceptible to interference (depending on the device they are in and probably copy variation). I don't get the Bluetooth. I'd never use it. DAC into RCA.
Fosi seems to make good sounding gear. But if I had my choice I wouldn't have put a volume knob on it, having a volume on the V3. Here is something for you to think about 🤔 I have JBL floor standing speakers and the tweeters have always sit lower than my ear level position. I just got some kids 6 inch high steps that are part wood, metal and very sturdy. I put my speakers on these steps or stands and I'm simply amazed In the difference in what I'm hearing. More details, bass is tighter and better stereo separation. I noticed your Dali's seem to set kind of low just thought I would mention this to you. If anybody is interested I'll tell you where I got them $40 for the pair.
I bought a Fosi P1 valve preamp a few weeks ago and it sounds great. The chips are socketed on that unit. I was disappointed to see that they don't appear to be on the P3
@@UTILITARIANTVUK but then surely if that was the case it would seem odd that you could upgrade the V3 opamps but be stuck with the same type of opamp in the P3 that you've upgraded from in the V3

Fosi is really listening to the people, making great stuff.
You're the man I love your energy its infectious
Totally agree!
Love your humor with the information!……great personality!
Thank you! 👍

I didn't think the ZA3 was out yet. Did you manage to get an early release?

Am running the V3 with the P3 Preamplifier and the sound is impressive, i am using Q Acoustics speakers and Rel Quake Subwoofer.
You noticed a difference using the v3 by itself vs using the p3?
Hey! What Q Acoustics model? Looks like I’ll get 3050 soon and want to connect them to V3 + P3
@@Chris951mv
Yes i notice a real difference with the P3.
@@mrczesterQ Acoustics 3010i.
Same, but with KEF Q350's
im just wondering if fosi p3 is better than p1 in sound. i have the latter.
This is exactly what I want. I need this, like now lol.
😄
Fosi sent me this if you're interested? Users get to sign up for a 20% discount until 28th Oct. And the P3 will go live on 29th Oct. bit.ly/46P95BO
Do you know how much it will cost? I have always fancied a tube amp but couldn’t afford one but looks like this would partner my V3 nicely.
@@tonyjedioftheforest1364 I'm not really sure but I reckon it'll be around the £100 mark?
Is Klipsch R-50m excellent for this combo?😊
Please tell me how can i connect the p3 with v3 amp
RCA out from the P3 to RCA in on the V3.
Can you tell us what the sound is like when you connect it to the V3? It would be nice if you could compare the sound with P3>V3 and V3 without P3.👍
That's exactly what I was thinking. Is there an actual improvement in sound when adding the P3 ?

Be aware that the P3 is not a 'phono' preamp, if you intend to use the P3, you will still need to use the box X2.

You should be able to plug it in to the 6.35mm TRS jack with 6.35mm TRS to RCA cable without the need of the V3.
cool, thx very much i'm getting the P3 🥳
Did you have problems putting the tubes in? I am really struggling - especially as once a 'leg' is out of kilter - it gets harder... Any advice?
Yeah they are a tight fit. You have to have them perfectly aligned. You may have to very gently bend the leg back into place.
Thanks for the reply. They driving me crazy...@@UTILITARIANTVUK
I hope the LED on the front isn’t red!! it looks like it on the picture on the website. Needs to match the V3!
The Bluetooth is blue and the RCA is red. I guess they couldn't have them both blue.
You make me laugh at the beginning of every video.
Why didn't they put RCA pre out instead of aux out ?
Space and cost I'd imagine.
@@UTILITARIANTVUK Just placed an ordered for the P3 , was a good price at aliexpress 11.11. I will replaced it with my P1 just for fun
its a shame they didn't use XLR to match their amps....
What is the pre's power output?
It only gives the specs for the headphone amp.
Man, try a Carver power with this!

The Dali's have a pretty wide off axis dispersion, there's little difference when you change height.

It may be due to the fact that it has been made to partner with the V3, which has removable op amps.
