Coach, I must say thank you for posting this video. I installed this with the help of some drills to get my team used to the cuts and making the passes. My AAU teams have really excelled vs man to man teams. This offense is very effective. I cant wait to install this for my high school team. (If we have a season). I even run this as a primary fast break. On any passes to the corner I just have the passer go S & R and it adds another option. Thanks again
That's great to hear coach. It's a fantastic AAU offense. At the high school lvl where you're scouted you'll need to put in some counters. But with the right group of kids it's a fun offense to run.
I love these videos - thank you! I have been watching and trying to decide btwn Circle, Euro Ball Screen, and Pistols as our primary offense. We don't have as much practice time with the whole team as I would like (girls are in senior high school and focused on school/university). I like Circle b/c it seems like the simplest to implement and doesn't require any specific personnel. My questions - (1) what are you entries into the offense, esp on fast break, (2) do you have any dropoff in offensive rebounding with the bigs potentially standing outside? Thanks again!
Certain players who I never want catching the ball at the top of the key --they always sprint screen. But I can call it for any player from the bench as well. But it's never just purely an option because the wing has to know the screen is coming.
Coach, I would love some more information circle motion with a post player? I'm looking to run this offense, but will have 1-2 players that are good in the post and they might not guard on the perimeter
We've done a multitude of things and it's really up to you and your team's strengths. When we run Circle with a big, we'd tell her if she caught the ball on the wing to check for the circle cutter then throw to the corner and ball screen or slip. We'd tell big guards to pass to the corner, basket cut and post up. The corner player with the ball dribbles up to the wing, checks the guard posting and if it's not open, the guard pops to the corner and you keep running the offense. Those are just two ideas -- you can also have the wing player pass corner, screen for the top player and slip, etc. A lot of options. Just depends on what you like and what your team can handle.

Are you calling the "sprint screen" from the sideline or do the girls just run it when they want to?

Thats why they can do the sprint screen (coming out the corner) or when they use the screen away they can post up instead of just cutting

I was first introduced to the offense by coach Pennell and continued to modify it depending on my team. And yes i have everything in fast draw.
