Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. This live version of Winner in You blew me off my feet literally. This is one of my favorite songs. Patti wasn't playing in the 80's when she was promoting the Winner in You album. She put everything she had into this project to make it a big success, both for her career, and MCA Records - her record label. And that band and the arrangement for this song - by itself is a triumph. Budd, her musical director, the band, and background singers were tremendous. I don't know where you are finding these Mo, but these performances are such a treat - to go back in time to the 80's and to hear some of Patti's live performances. She takes you places with her vocals - and with the love you feel when you hear her sing. And I know I am greedy Mo, but do you know if there is a live version of her singing Over the Rainbow at the Warner Theatre during this tour? I have been looking for it for years. It's so funny that there isn't one - specifically from this tour. Thanks again for uploading this Mo!
I agree I think she sounds best during this tour. Patti in the 80s is just something else! I don’t have over the rainbow but I have some other songs that I’ll be posting.
Well said. I couldn't agree with you more. She sang every song as if was the last. No offense but Bud Ellison the band and sweeties added something something to special to her.
@@marcmurray7244no offense in that, Bud Ellison brings out the next level/beast phase/God mode of Patti LaBelle and nobody can do that. It's very obvious her performances have changed since his death. He knew musically/ emotionally exactly what to give her at the right time
Thank u! This is right on time. I have been wearing out Winner in You the last few days & it is an eerie but appreciated coincidence that u posted this right now from my G.O.A.T.
Nooooooww. now now…😁. I got some of these gems you are posting through the unofficial/official Patti LaBelle live VHS/cassette trade waaay back in the day.. I posted a few myself which are still circulating after all these years on YT.. I suppose for Patti’s 80th, sources are finally feeling free to bring all the good stuff out of the closet, as it were…😉. Great listening. This was from Patti’s mid80’s Westwood One broadcast concert. I was listening to her version of ‘Lush Life’ just about a week back. Everyone needs to hear how great this woman has been over her 65+ career. Thanks for sharing. Happy Patii Pride!
I was at this concert! Amazing
I listened to this track for days on end in preperation for a Job Interview.
And with my faith in God, & Miss Patti I got hired.
That's awesome! Congratulations!
Woww. I love that ending!
BABY I HAVE BEEN LISTENING OVER AND OVER AGAIN! SHE ATE THIS UP! THE CROWD INTERACTION AND HER CHANIGNG THE LYRICS FOR THEM MAKES IT EVEN BETTER.
I'm a man and my grown ass just cried like a baby listening to this! Thanks for posting bc this is incredible and far exceeds the recorded version!
Haha I feel you
No one does it better!
No words…wow! The queen! 🎉

You are very welcome! I feel like there’s still soo much more that’s not on the internet which is a shame!
Do you have any more Patti VHS tapes from the 80s or 90s?
There are a few stuff that I’m looking for
THANK YOU!
