  • A solar tracker is a solar panel device that orients itself towards (sun)light in order to generate as much electricity as possible. In this video, I go over how I easily built my own mini solar tracking system at home! This tutorial on how you can do this too goes over the materials needed (all linked below), the process of setting up the solar tracking stand, and the programming required to make this project work.

    Hey, I have done that part and also wanted to generate a report on the comparison between fixed and tracking solar panel, what materials do I need to add and how should they be connected. also how do I add a notification feature to the project?

    Hello, for the servo motor, can I use MG946R servo motor instead of MG996R servo motor? Also, what's the voltage of servo motor you are using for this project?

    How do you get the solar panel to rotate to the east at the end of the day to capture the sun the next morning?

    Hi Ma'am Jessica, Ma'am can I ask for your help in doing my Thesis Project? It is also a Solar Tracker but ours is a Dual Axis Solar Tracker ( Automatic and Manual ). The Manual Mode is okay but in Automatic Mode, it's not working ... can you help me Ma'am Jessica with the coding?

    I don't know about arduino, i suppose the ldr's are triggering on when in shadow, what happens to servo when cloudy and both ldr's are in the low light and both are sending signal ? Thank you

    • @VictorC173
      @VictorC173 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the Arduino is comparing the signal from the ldr's, if one is on shadow and other is on light, the servos turn on until the two are equals in the readings.

      @@VictorC173 Yep that's exactly right! Thanks for helping to clarify :)

    You keep saying that you have a list of materials in your description box. I cannot find this. Can you not show a list during the video?

      Hi, Roger. I did not have a set list at the time of filming/editing so I had to put the list in the description before uploading. There IS a list of the materials in the description box of this video but I'll copy-paste them here as well:

    All this can be made much, much easier.
    The easiest way is how an Optical Telescope basically works according to the 'Equatorial' principle. The equatorial mount has a north-south "polar axis" that is tilted to be parallel to earth's polar axis, allowing the telescope to swing in an east-west arc, with a second axis perpendicular to it so that the telescope can swing in a north-south arc. By swiveling the polar axis of the mount or mechanically moving in the opposite direction of the Earth's rotation, the sunpanel can accurately track the movement of the sun all day, easy by one clock on 24 hours time line.
    See the link for this >> en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equatorial_mount#German_equatorial_mount
