Is 30 lines possible on 29 with noro? What’s the world record with rotations? I’m new to Tetris and I don’t understand much of these movements

yes it can be possible with good pieces (RNG). With rotations the record is over 1000 lines.

Regular nes tetris with rotations is massively "easier" than no rotations. Without rotations, you are very limited by average or even good rng, so you essentially need to be playing quite optimally, and then wait for a game with lucky pieces.
With rotations (i.e. just playing normally), once you can move pieces fast enough, the rng is no longer a limiting factor on how long you can survive. The main limiting factor is then human error - misdrops and suboptimal placements. Also, the current records are partly limited by the colours breaking a bit after 1000 lines into level 29, since nobody is very prepared for the weird and sometimes near invisible colour schemes for the pieces in those levels, as almost no games have reached that point and only a few people are good enough to get there.
