I think hiring local people to build your house is such a good idea. And sourcing the materials locally. It improves the self-sufficiency and resiliency of the community you live in.

Is there something like sketch up for garden design? It would be better to visualise
Where do people get the money to do this sort of things......
I wouldn't plant anything around underground utilities. Crews need to find and have access to get into the equipment incase of an emergency. I wouldn't want to dig a hole to plant a tree and my shovel hits into a 13kv electric wire.
Spell (interesting name) isn't that a given? Kinda of like saying, "be sure to water your plants." Thank you to the world of gardeners who share their insights and truly valuable information for all to benefit from.
Surprisingly there are people out there that do plant and put stuff around it.
