- DC ventured into the Elseworlds adventure where they published stories that broke out of their continuity. This birthed several new origin stories and revamped popular characters like Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. We can see these characters come to life in the 2015 animated movie Justice League: Gods And Monsters.
To establish the reworked characters, we obviously got enough content in the comics to map out their backstories. How else would you explainBatmanwho is suddenly a vampire or Wonder Woman who is now a New Genesis warrior married to Darkside’s son Orion? Superman also has his own origin story. Instead of being Clark Kent from Smallville, he is Hernan Guerra. He was raised by Mexican immigrants and the obstacles of his life as an immigrant had turned him into a pessimist instead of a beacon of hope.

People keep saying this is evil superman done right. No, this is anti-hero superman done right. He kills but doesn't treat himself to be above the people he protects. Hes just the one who makes the harder choices others are afraid of making.

Lor Zod in this version is still a hero but in much more brutal way toward his enemies which is still very cool
I know this is why he is one of my favorite versions of Superman.
I honestly really like this version of Superman, he’s a hard and jaded man with a penchant for ruthlessness but underneath all of that you can tell that he’s a man whose trying to do good. His methods are tough but he’s someone who has the capacity to be the beacon we associate prime superman with

Lor-Zod is definitely an anti-hero of all the Supermans where most are either heroes or villains he's more in the middle but ultimately more good than bad just on his own terms he wants to make the world a better place regardless of his cynicism.
Get an interview with Bruce Timm. We have to know who are the Alien Green Lantern, Mary Marvel and Steel from Justice League Gods and Monsters
This version of Superman is amazing I really love the Gods and Monsters movie it’s something new to the world of Dc I love how all the members of the Justice League aren’t perfect and I think that makes them more real than the original Justice League
I would love to see more stories about this version of Superman and his universe.
I love watching this over and over again. Justice League Gods and monsters is criminally underrated.
i loved this version of the trio, they aren't the Goody good all white knight, but depp down you know they try to help even if they have been hurt , in a sense that make them more humane

Thank you for the video. I had only seen the cartoon version of "Gods And Monsters," and that version lack any mention of this Superman's name. I knew he had an Earth name of course, but assumed that Dru-Zod died before naming the child. I had despaired of finding out more. Now I have more. Thanks again!

Well it's understandable to be pessimistic, when you grow up in the US and are not from the privileged class.
Gods And Monsters was one of those movies I still have no option on. It was a fine movie but I couldn't throw my support behind any character.
