    Forrest seriously, I think you are the best source of this info for the western mind. The educated, spiritually inclined family man or woman, the regular single man or woman, and even safe imo so far to teach young adults the mental maps or schemas based on ancient knowledge but explained in modern terminology in regard to "feelings" the subconscious processes etc. Really powerful. ty for all your hard work Forrest. I hope you are extremely blessed as a result of your service. Indeed I do believe you carry a tradition and have adapted it for use wo threat of abuse or that "culty" vibe. Awesome job. Very practical methods to become more of or even assist in one's path. If anyone is looking for results (problem solving, clear thinking, emotional management thru meditation etc), I highly recommend this guy.

    Dear divine Atman,
    My heart full love and thanks to u ji.
    My prayers are answered as I was trying to calm down myself from a troubling mind. Oming into the chakras immediately made me grounded. And oming when a negative thought comes helps and dissolves . Thank u for sharing Lahiri Baba's teachings.

    Well Forest, in my learning journey I ran into a real problem when it comes to the chakras. The problem being is that there's a lot of people that talk about them yet I don't think they believe that they're actually part of the medical system of the human body. Which I can tell you from my own experience and research on a lot of studies that you will have physical responses from your chakras and they absolutely do exactly what the ancient knowledge says. But when I reached out to people about that I would talk to somebody who you would think for sure knew about them. And when I started describing my experience and feeling them expand when I found them and then everything getting loose in that area and feeling the flow of energy rising or spinning. You could see it in their face that they're like this dude's crazy. Which just blew my mind honestly at the amount of people that I see practicing things that don't really understand, nor believe what they're taught. For me, it was extremely helpful to see a real scientific paper that drew them. My chakras did not end up at the same exact point, but it gave me a reference of where to look and feel and what to look and feel for. And at first I was really confused because I have way more than seven that I just felt. So I took the time to actually map it out myself and go figure when I go deeper into yoga. I start finding all these energy points that I found and felt before I had a clue about any of them. I guess it's all been for the better, because I really haven't had anybody else influence my experience. Experience. Everything I've had happened. I've looked up after it happened because I didn't want it to get muddied by other people's beliefs. I did the same thing learning guitar and I'm really glad I took that approach

    The thing is forest. When I came across accurate and anatomically, correct pictures and video of what's going on? Scientifically. I found my chakras instantly. Now you're right, it was by feeling that I had found them. However, those images allowed me to visualize on what to feel for and where it feel for it. So it's a great tool to use. Only if they're accurate though. So ensure having correct information to visualize upon helps greatly.

    Amazing. Can you say few words about priority filter: "Extended Reticular-Thalamic Activating System'' (ERTAS) which is in the case of a meditatively trained person, it allows energized information from the "chakra" to enter the brain and be perceived...

    • @ForrestKnutson
      @ForrestKnutson  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The RAS will delete what we train the subconscious to be unimportant. By noticing subtle biofeedback signals in meditation, we retrain the subconscious, and the RAS will now filter a different set of information through. Presto! There's your meditative information.

I could add this to help me with big bliss training ? Do we need to direct this in the spine while breathing. So many questions on that directing of the energies.

    Hey Forrest- I know you have talked about OM japa in the chakras in many videos BUT LAHIRI MAHASHAYA told that kriya will be tamasic if MANTRA JAPA is NOT done in the chakras. I read an interesting view point on the web that MANTRA JAPA may NOT be same as OM japa because the term mantra is generally used for group of words that come after OM (though OM is also a mantra but the word 'mantra' is generally used for actual mantra and not for OM. For OM, mostly only OM is said instead of Mantra as it's not secret). Since MANTRA japa is done in chakras in higher kriyas, it may be the case that Lahiri baba could be pointing out to someone having higher kriyas and not doing MANTRA JAPA in the chakras while doing higher kriyas. As such, first level kriya can be done without OM japa in the chakras and it won't be tamasic??
    I'd love to hear your perspective on this.

    • @ForrestKnutson
      @ForrestKnutson  ปีที่แล้ว

      That is very smart, but you have to understand that the perspective I'm offering to the kriya community is also from a direct oral tradition. There's also evidence through a lifetime of watching spinal breathing yogis and their resulting difficulties. So, I stand with my original testimony.

    • @i_love_god10
      @i_love_god10 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ForrestKnutson I agree. Lahiri baba has also mentioned in one of the letters when kriya becomes tamasic. The kriya is tamasic if mind wanders away while doing kriya. It's so natural to loose the focus because we have practiced the distraction for so many lifetimes lol.
      So I think any japa (be it OM or other japa given in the higher kriyas) helps keeping the attention on the kriya process and saves it from becoming tamasic. Of course, their other benefits cannot be neglected. So in my opinion, if one can do kriya with full attention and without wandering the mind (very difficult but still possible) then even without OM japa the kriya will not be tamasic. Definitely, the effect would be lesser though since OM japa offers lots of benefits. On the other hand, if someone mechanically does OM japa in the chakras passively while doing kriya and while doing that if mind wanders away from kriya, then even with OM japa the kriya will be tamasic. What do you think? Is that correct interpretation?
      I can't agree more on the difficulty of performing spinal breathing. Definitely not easy.
