Nah even when they were alone he was still such a jerk to her. He said he “pretended” to be heartless but they were literally in an abusive relationship where he raped her and locked her up. He tried to control everything from her job to her friends to even her makeup. I watched to the end and was rooting for her to finally be free. Then they threw in the amnesia trope so she could conveniently forgive him and all the terrible things he and his family did to her. The male lead has no character growth and instead is given a generic tragic backstory so when the mom and girl are gone we can believe in his personality 180. The story was entertaining but the wattpad delulu ending was so disappointing. Whoever wrote the script probably needs therapy about healthy relationships

As far as I’m concerned she stayed with Si Yang happily ever after. Had the baby and loves her sister in law who was her only friend that randomly disappeared. She didn’t get her memories back but her brain healed enough to start holding memories after she had the baby. Boom.

They wrapped up the ending in a kinda okay way but I really wish Lan Lan would have escaped with her friend. She endured way too much for the overall revenge plan. He leaves her to get raped by gangsters and ends up jumping to her death and is left with permanent amnesia. Her story is so fucken sad.

Although I disliked the LM character I must say the actor was really really good. I've seen many stories that are basically the same where the ML is a monster who is abusive and horrible. Was entertaining at first but i skip parts after finding out the ending was bad from the comment section. And I agree it was disappointing! Was hoping a better turn of event for Lan Lan. Hated the so called "brother", what he did to Lan does not shows him trying to pretend to be heartless but actually that is his true character.
In conclusion, this whole movie represents a really toxic relationship. 'Script writer plz why would you make Lan Lan forget her bad past and just forgive the abusive, obsessive man and to live with him again. Where is the justice 😩'

And seriously, the first move the male lead makes is lifting her up? What's up with that? I get our culture's all about happy endings, but does a woman really have to degrade herself for love? I'm annoyed at the script, yet here I am, spent a good three hours watching it - yeah, I'm that weak. Ok i gotta admit, this drama is a trainwreck and the male lead is one crazy layered onion but at least there was explanation at the end which made him appear to be less of a psycho but still a jerk. Overall I give it a 6/10 for the male lead being a good actor.
Don't forget he choked her, raped her, kicked her out and let her be homeless, and her baby almost died because of his mistreatment of her.
