0:36 I knew that the number of people in Mainland China who self-identity as non-religious was high (and falling, as a growing number of people are identifying with some sort of religious belief over the years, though I expect them to remain a minority for many years). However, I had no idea that the number of Mainland Chinese who routinely participate some sort of religious practice was at 80%. Having lived in both Beijing and Taipei, I find this number surprising, as Mainland Chinese temples do seem significantly less crowded than the Taiwanese temples.
Perhaps if we parsed these numbers between public worship in temple worship, or private worship at shrines, cemeteries, medication sessions, bible studies, etc... we might find that religious worship works differently in different parts of the Chinese speaking world. Perhaps its even different between cities and the countryside. However, I must agree with Dr. Sun. Even here in the U.S., the number of Mainland Chinese who self-identify as Christian or accept Christian baptism is quite low, but the number who regularly participate in sort of bible study or Sunday worship is much higher. Chinese Christian churches here in the States are often full of people, but only a minority of congregants are actually baptized or self-identify as Christian.
And as C.K. Yang might point out, who knows how many adherents there are among the non-institutionalized "diffused" religions in the U.S., like ancestor veneration or folk religion. Dr. Sun's suggestion that this phenomenon of "multi-ritualism" might be common throughout the world is a fascinating insight that might turn out to be true.

Mainland China was indoctrinated and influenced by communist atheism, which caused people to gradually change their traditional Confucian beliefs. However, they still faced the dilemma of harsh political suppression of religion and traditional culture. The vast majority of mainland Chinese people still maintained ancestor worship. Ancestor worship is The main manifestation of Confucian belief. Therefore, the vast majority of Chinese people are Confucian believers.
Even today in Hong Kong and Indonesia Confucianism is still one of the six official religions recognized by the government.

I imagine Chinese practice religion but the English word cannot describe the beliefs. Like Yin and Yang

Chinese people may follow some religious practice, but only in form, not in true faith.

Define faith and then how truth is related to it.
