Finally found a drummer who really understands the epic bass drum playing in the last 3 minutes of this song. it's a swing metal! Many people feel great that you have to always play 2 pedals.. even though it sounds flat and lacks depth. Moreover, it feels robotic and has no imperfect human side. too perfect is sh**t, imperfection is rock and roll!
Many people cover this song but don't understand the details of Lars' bass drum playing. instead it is covered with double pedal play. they killed this beautiful song.
I'm sure you really understand the genius of Lars' works which may not be heard in detail by old-fashioned metal fans.

Hell yeah - Lars’s modern playing doesn’t get enough love. Death Magnetic being an excellent album. I try and get my videos as close to the original version as possible and I grew up listening to Lars so have a good idea of what he plays. Glad you picked up on it! All the best 👊

I cant even do the sextuplet double bass section in One by Metallica. Till this day
@@Rekon-se6wv when I was 13 to 19 I could play anything I stopped for 15 years and it's like I never owned a drum set. More frustrating.
@@Rekon-se6wv you have to start at low tempo and increase gradually. must develop good stick control. It sucks but we have to practice a lot
@@bobmarley8334 i cant get past 90BPM sextuplets. I m working out with a workout "One" video on YT just to practice that part. But still
Ngl, I dropped it for like 2 months now when I saw no progress. i can play 16th notes at whatever BPM is Nightmare by A7x, so maybe I should I try again. For some reason its hard for me to do sextuplets at 110 on One
Consistency is everything but also try to mix up routines if you find you hit walls/plateaus. Everyone sucks at some part of the instrument! I suck at 150BPM+ 16th kicks, fast jazz and plenty of other areas. Find weaknesses and eliminate them with practice! Well, that's my thinking anyway. Good luck!
I love Death Magnetic songs but god damn the mixing that Metallica's producers did is awful
