100% right about the colours. When you see a 70s/80s/90s classic nowadays they stand out so much. I miss pale blue Ford Escorts!

The true car lover, gets excited when sees cars like that, more than the latest Lambo or Ferrari (personal opinion, don't want to judge the passion anyone has). I see cars vanished from the roads or rarities like the beautiful 166 V6 Nuvola. Great video, always a pleasure to be "with you" at the Fotu

Looks like a great turn out! That Uno you skipped past, being a 1.4 SX i.e., with only 3 remaining on the road, is rarer than the Turbo! (& that Nascar ducted roof on the Tempra SW was completely standard, they all have that feature!). Shame Jim didn't take his Panda. Would have loved to have seen the Alfa 6, I`ve not seen one in 35 years!

Watching the second half of the video now! Here's a bunch of comments mashed together.
Ah, I love a Hilux Surf! And that P100 is swish too!
I'd never heard of a Carib either, but the Sprinter nameplate i suppose is a hint as it's related to the Corolla, and looking it up, we did get some them on our shores under the Corolla and Tercel names. Certainly the generation prior to that example would be recognisable, but the one you saw is a version unique to Japan. I love to see a JDM all-wheel-drive wagon!
Love love LOVE the aubergine interior in the Rover 75 sedan!
And that wagon is gorgeous too. Reminds me a lot of my 2003 Outback H6, in terms of the modern comfort and granddad's car factor.
I remember that Bluebird video! What a lovely car.
… and I just got to the part of the video with three Tercels/Sprinter Caribs next to each other. Well then. :L

27:18 Yes it was that one, K353 UKK one year ago, so great to see it again with all the restoration work that has gone into it over the past year as well, replacement alternator without broken bearings which caused the whining noise in the video, new LS spec wheel trims, phase one boot button surround (sticker rather than indented silver Vauxhall logo), phase one gear knob, replacement dash from a Vauxhall Tigra because heated seats as it turns out was not an option unfortunatly even though it seemed like it, the buttons did nothing, and a new replacement bonnet from a satin red phase 2 from 1999 as the original bonnet was full of stone chips and didn't look good at all.

Nice to see Ms Crabtree at the show as well.
Remember 2024 is the year of the Streetwise.
The first Alfa 145 in the UK and its edinburgh registered.
The Rav4 belongs to a friend i met at the Practical Classics Show in March, he owns the green Mark 5 Escort Si Estate that was at the practical classics show the year before.
I think the Skoda Favorit estate was Lily Crabtree's as its parked next to Sarah's Mazda 121 based on the mark 4 fiesta.

until about a decade ago a guy on our street drove an Applause. He then had a Corsa B and now has 51 Plate Focus Ghia saloon. Really annoying thing about him is he buys them because he is tight and so can maintain them himself then when he gets bored he has them crushed. He won't sell on and is immune to pleas from enthusiasts to sell to them for more money than the scrap guy would give him. Mental - possibly on more than one level.

As someone who worked from 09 to 05 for as a metrology technician for a Rover foundry it's nice to see Montegos and maestro's . With my job I use to drive them regularly round the plant or to our sister foundry they were really abused from new with Foundry tooling. I once went on a training course at East Midlands airport. Personnel told me.i would have to take 1 of the cars. I was told check car over it was at the time probably 3 years old an M reg 2.0 diesel the car had been running around the foundry with no oil etc. Due to Rovers not having the best of reliability even with offers of upto 50% off not many bought any other than 75s and MG ZTs. No company cars other than the odd 1 was Rover. The Delorean is Rare it's 1 of 38 RHD factory built cars near the end. Strangely the ex Delorean factory is now an Automotive foundry.

I'm surprised at the W-reg Renault 12 - the 18 was built on the same floorpan and came out two years earlier - or was this one registered via some shenanigans? My father bought a new Renault 16 in '72 in Germany and brought it into the UK in '74, but it was still given an M-reg plate rather than K-reg. I always assumed it was just some hangover loophole from the UK having not yet joined the Common Market in '72.

These cars are typically very low specification, no electric windows etc. They are 20+ years old for the show and by this point are uncommon and rare on the roads in the UK. With our weather and use of salt on the roads in winter, it can be a tough life and rust finishes most - so always impressive to see survivors.

@@BrooksterMax for me its the same also because they are not many in good condition but there are examples that if you put some money in them they can be like that in the video. This event is going to be now like the goodwood? Or no?
