On this trip my GoPro was having a couple problems - bad voice level on the audio so I sound funny. And there was some extra motion because the stability wasn't on the right setting. But I keep this video up because sometimes I look back on it to remember what conditions are like going to Carter in September.
Stayed at the hut first In 1958 and most recently July 6th and 7th. Big difference between age 8 in Summer Camp and 71 with my adult grandsons. Love this place.
Blown away to hear the other hiker's account of looking down at his phone and then looking up to see a moose. I had the same thing happen in early Sept. 2021, except I was on the Davis Path between the Glen Boulder Trail and the Isolation Trail and when I looked up from checking my navigation app there was a bull moose 10 ft in front of me, blocking the trail. Long story, short version - no where to go but back up the way I'd come, steep & rocky, and the moose followed me, matching my pace for about 1/2 a mile. Not one photo, even though I had my phone in my hand, just totally focused on the situation. I'm really enjoying all of your videos. Lots of inspiration for future trips, but also just relaxing to escape into for a bit.
Cool. My cousin and I did that in the mid seventies.I remember a big slide, large waterfall. We stayed in a lean-to shelter. Didn't get as far as Carter Notch though. Memorable. Thank you.
Thanks for the comment. It is really cool to hear about people's different experiences up there. It makes me realize I can go there again and I'll probably have a totally new experience, not just re-doing the last one.
Those are the ASOLO boots. Mens version. They are my most serious boots with a super sturdy sole. I've had them many years. They are very supportive especially on rocks. I'd like to hike sometimes in lighter weight Altra sneakers but it sure is hard to believe that will work after using the serious boots!
I hiked this trail yesterday, June 6, 2021. I cannot hear anything you said in this video. You need to have a mic clipped to your top. Doesn't matter how much you yell at the camera man. We cannot make out what you are saying. I learned this early on in my Go Pro days. Showing the hut is just as important as showing us the trail. We want to see the inside too, so keeping the camera on the 'layout' is needed. We know what you look like. Some videographers keep their camera stuck on their face for most of the hike. What's up with that?? You did not do that so thanks. We got to see the trail Perhaps these videographers are new and will review their early years recording, then see what we hikers need to see. This is a beautiful trail that sometimes has a bear walking along beside a hiker but in the woods just in sight. Not along side on the trail. LOL The bear is up in the 2 mile mark.

Wow, that is really cool. They have probably built more on and added rules! ha ha.... But I agree, the huts have a magic to them.
You are so adventurous!
Wow this is a really cool video. I’m only halfway through and it’s so neat to watch the night stars photography.👍🏻

@@RachelWhelton I remember we drove off the main hwy up a small gravel road not far, to park. We drove from Montreal in my Toyota Hilux.
Beautiful :) What are the hiking boots you are wearing?

OK. Sorry about that.
