    “Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we're just the imaginations of ourselves. Here's Tom with the weather.” - Bill Hicks

      don't forget how many people who use drugs, and not just acid, are looked down apon and alienated by friends and family and discredited as morons who are to be mentally corralled and put down so others can feel empowered. I mean, one shaman is okay but, all other shamans need to just get a job and get their head in the .. game/box

      The major issue with this is no matter how deep or amazing your thought are or get on phycedelics you never remember them later when straight. Fairly sure someone has resolved all of the Worlds problems before when high on acid but it's all become mist later.

    Oddly enough, as a child it occurred to me that every perception of reality that I had was purely a function of my apparent consciousness - so the only thing that I could reliably be sure of was that I believed that I exist - which doesn’t necessarily require a physical body. So how did I know that I, or indeed anything, were actually real?
    Im sure a shrink would have hours of fun with that one!

    We would have to be both necessarily. Assuming the analogy holds up in this sense, whatever reality existed on the event horizon wold be projected as it exists into the black hole. The projection would be exactly the same as the reality. You just have to imagine what happens if we decide that we are the projection: if indeed we are, there must be a "real" us at the same time deciding that same thing to project us from.

    Greetings human being, I love your videos.
    You've opened my mind to things I've never even thought about (and now i want bacon dammit)
    Anyways, I was wondering if you can do a video about future weapons in space, and see how realistic and unrealistic the weapons in popular sci-fi actually are. The most obvious being Star Wars, but can you also talk about the stuff in Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, the list goes on, and a movie called the Iron Sky? It's a minor film that actually has some cool near-future looking spaceships with railguns and nukes and gatling guns rather than lasers. Also your ideas on how space combat would actually turn out to be.
    I know the Universe documentary series did an episode on it, but I just want to hear your thoughts on this.
    I don't know, maybe i can add what you say into my pseudo-hard-scientific novel (due to my inability to maths and my love for history).
    And I may be going over my head, but can you consider talking about shields and force fields a little bit? Maybe about the DARPA or US army project on them.
    Also, Australia supports your love for bacon

    What I really like about this math tool is that you can do quantum physics in a conformal field theory on the surface of a cylinder enclosing an anti-de sitter space with no gravity but gravity emerges as a force in the bulk of the space. The technique demonstrates a way quantum field theory and generally relativity could be united in a TOE!

    The way in which we approach the World is to approximate a set of responses to the characteristics perceived, from the Physical "things as you find them" to how you expect to find them in the possible future by estimation, quantization of the general principles of qualification, mathematically that is.
    So the physical perceptions tend to be the subject categorization under titles in record keeping and repeat practice, and Mathematical quantization is the formulaic system used.., ie conserved repetition practices and perceptions that may be very perfunctory in character, but strongly conserved culturally.
    "Science is as sciencing does", so an activity titled Science is "just an address" identity of attention, not automatically the verification of valid identity, and it's common practice to confuse the perceptions of the non-practicing public politically. Unless and until everyone thinks for their own sciencing selves, the meaning of "Hologram", or anything else relevant has to begin with Actuality, time duration timing modulation.
    A Professional Journalist reporting on the entitled representation/identification of general perceptions, is doing a different job to Professional sciencing, and that is just how it is.
    Professors Susskind and Maldecena, plus many others (when they get around to it.., because it's inevitable Quantum Logic), have to continue to differentiate the physical measurements discovered from the titled CCC physics, and integrate/calculate the "navigational" mathematical projections of the Singularity positioning, QM-TIMESPACE Principle In-form-ation mechanism, here-now forever, in cause-effect-> continuous creation connection in Principle, substantiation of unity-connection.
    That's the Holographic Actuality->reality where we live.

  • @davidwilkie9551

    Good talk, Profs Susskind and Maldecena mathematics is over everyone's heads? But the idea is right, except we who are natural "experimentalists" have to imagine the universe is lit from within by inflationary-reverse-gravity-harmonics..., coherence, emanating(!) from the singularity. As unlikely as it sounds, the holographic memory has to be projected from a single instant of orthogonal "angle-space", an axis of connection, (definitely not a physical film strip, but similar in projection-timing principle?) -otherwise known as the Quantum Information state of eternity-now. (Universe as infinitely complex clock..)
    ..Can't be any other way to construct this Quantum Universe, with these properties we know about.
    It's the logic of quanta, which can also be called "superspin synchronization" or modulation, analog computation, etc etc. (Fun sciency stuff to imagine)
    For physical senses to make sense, the principle of operation has to be sensory, conceptually, not in the least physical but enduring information that cannot be lost, by definition.., so it's eternally self-defining, only changing distribution "mathematically".
    The math and holographic concepts we are capable of sensing/observing are analogous assemblies of component Quantum Operator cause-effect in-form-ation.
    We are real resonance images of timing and spacing duration, in-form-ation, in the QM-Time "clock" universe. WYSIWYG

    The entropy is proportional to the logarithm of the number of microstates, the ways a system can be configured microscopically while leaving the macroscopic description unchanged. Black hole entropy is deeply puzzling - it says that the logarithm of the number of states of a black hole is proportional to the area of the horizon, not the volume in the interior.
    en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holographic_principle
    My understanding is they came to the holographic theory by measuring black hole entropy. That Wikipedia link is a great read on the subject.
    Now if you haven't already please do a video on the simulation theory. I feel they go hand in hand. Also, please mention the fact that error correcting computer code similar to that of a web browser has been show in the math of the universe.
    Also, please remind everyone each video to support you on patreon.

    This makes me ask a question. What defines "real"? I mean, to our local definition it simply means something that does not exist at all in our universe, but as I understanding, its something that is not located in our three dimensions and exists in another plane in reality so as it does not interact with our universe in any posible way. But this definition defines real as something relative to our dimention. If we are indeed "not real", with respect to what we are "not real"?

    It's both.
    A night dream is both an imperfect projection of our consciousness and a part of it. Our life choices are both the realization of our freedom in time and its exhaustive self-revelation in eternity.
    Sometimes I wonder whether science and religion really meet each other on their deeply intuitive, non-dogmatic level, or it is a coincidence.
    Or - as in a case of two _honestly_ seeking persons - it is the very point where true relationships are only beginning to emerge.

    Here's a mind blower: We're a projection within a simulation of the universe.

    • @IABITVpresents
      @IABITVpresents 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      if that's true then why can't we time travel?

  • @michaelrichardson9458

    I think we are a projection, as what we perceive as solid matter is mostly empty space, but thats not to say we aren't real. Just that our perception of things is alot different to how they actually are. Perhaps we return to our original existence (whatever that might be) after we have experienced and learnt a certain amount in this one? Or maybe if every event a piece of matter experiences is recorded at the quantum level, and no info is lost, maybe the projections into the black holes are how the creator/s of the universe receive that info? If so then it is likely that at some point expansion/inflation will reverse

  • @Chainsnroses
    @Chainsnroses 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    So there's a chance I'm not even the original me I'm just a holographic representation of someone who use to be the original me? So there's no free will I'm a hologram playing out that guy's life that he's already lived?

    If we are the projection, then who are in our black holes?

  • @aldousd666
    @aldousd666 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    The AdS/CFT math was based on a theorized anti-de Sitter space time and requires an extra spacial extended dimension (not time.) We think we're in flat space, so this can't apply to our own universe. It's just a mathematical proof of concept. Still cool, just not relevant based on anything we know

    in any case, time and space are so distorted close to a black hole, that it will take near forever for the quantum matter to hit the event horizon, relative to an observer on earth, for instance. so maybe, maybe, the problem does not even exists at all from our perspective.

    • @joescott
      @joescott  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +MikiMaki76 Yeah, exactly! I think that's actually where the "encoded on the surface of the event horizon" thing comes from. The image is red-shifted so far that it's stuck on the surface of the black hole forever. I could be totally wrong about that, though. This is very confusing stuff.

    • @MikiMaki76
      @MikiMaki76 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Joe Scott red shifting is about light; but generally speaking, from what I can understand, the closer you get to a black hole, the slower the time ticks for you and the more the space expand for you, compared to the rest of the universe. for example 1 second for you -> millions of years on earth, 1 meter on earth -> 100 light years for you. the weird thing is that for an external observer, nothing will ever reach the event horizon; but for the particles/waves that are falling into the bh, the story is different. they actually cross the event horizon. so the information maybe is lost, but not in a finite time for us.

    "We're" real. But we're not the matter we think we see. The so-called material universe is a mental projection of what we (collectively) think--a mental projection that humans interpret as material reality. As our limited, inaccurate beliefs change, the outward appearance of "matter" changes, until the belief in a material universe melts into nothingness, and the spiritual reality emerges as perfect, unchanging, ever unfolding perfection.

    If a black hole projects everything on it's outside, Does it projects itself too? so it creates infinity projection of one real universe?

    If we shoot a lazer into the sky and we were a projection, the lazer would be pulled back towards us and we would be able to detect it. But if it doesn't that means that we are outside of the black hole.right??? Plz tell me if this makes sense to anyone

    Computermorphism. Perhaps there are levels of existence that we don't yet understand that will be much more interesting then our current level of consciousness. The simulation to stay in this human form at this level of understanding as the "GREATEST" experience...kind of short sighted. Perhaps I can see all 6 sides of a cube at the same time with augmentation. Perhaps my emotional state will advance exponentially as well instead of just sight. If desire is replaced with altruism....

    What if there's no reality and instead every reality is just a projection of a universe itself being a projection which is in and of itself a projection and so on and so forth. Like an infinite, never-ending projection, kind of like those spiralling, repeating fractals you see in a Mandelbrot set?

    Let’s just say we are the hologram. But then we must ask: does being the hologram necessarily prevent us from being real in our own right.
