Girlfriend: Who is the crazy lady on your iPad? Me: Its my personal comic book instructor. She helps me to spend my money on quality novelish art products. Girlfriend: I already don't like her. Me: She also instructed me to buy you flowers for every TP i own, and fancy restaurant trips for every third graphic novel i buy. Girlfriend: You know what... She looks very nice, i like her hair! Its all a matter of negotiation. ;)
I read them here and there until recently. I started reading them a lot more. In particular batman and joker stuff. Or anything Grant Morrison. I'm reading his swamp thing serious now.
If you haven't read this yet I recommend paper girls. Haven't personally read a lot of it myself but from the bit I have read you'll love it if you enjoy stranger things or something similar.
This video was complete Awesome Sauce! My 12 year old daughter just informed me that she would like comics for Christmas and I was like, 'say whaaat?' I no nothing about comic books! But all thanks to you, I feel more confident in finding her the right Beginner's Comics! Thanks again!
Cheryl Wilson CHERYL!!! This makes me so happy. Welcome to the wonderful world of comics I hope you guys have fun and please feel free to ask me any questions you may have. :)
Just getting into the wonderful world of comics. I've actually been to a couple comic con events but mostly to hang out and see cosplayers and meet stars of shows I like. Recently I've been watching videos like this one and reading about comics. Now I'm addicted. I can't wait to fill my shelf with all this wonderful art. It has inspired me to cosplay and attend events and even go back to school for art. Thanks for this video!
Thank you so much, Nerdburger! I've been a fan of a lot of geeky stuff in my life (action figures, movies, shows, video games, etc) but other than some Robocop, Lobo and Punisher comics I picked up as a teen in the early 90's I never really got sucked in to comics hardcore, probably because I felt like an outsider for being so late to the party. Recently I've been more and more curious and this video just made me feel good deep down in my soul and simultaneously extremely pumped and ready to READ SOME COMICS and just get my sweet ass out there and start exploring this amazing world! I'm subscribin'! Thanks again!
I love this video :) watched it like 10 times already to get comic ideas. Just ordered 3 paperbacks of Chew, Seconds, a bunch of Archie and one called Shoplifter. Can't wait to read them:) Your videos rock!
Subscribed! You rock! (And funny, too lol) I'm no newbie to comics but I left a few years ago to play games. Not leaving video games but most of them are boring to me now (same games over and over). Glad to be back. :-D
When I was a kid, I absolutely hated reading. When I wouldn't read anything if the world depended on it, I'd go out of my way to buy, "read" comics. I loved 'em! And what was awesome about my comics craving, is that they were marketed or retailed to kids with optimum purchasing access and convenience, usually in one of those vertical, rotatable, carousel type racks, which would usually stand next to the horizontal shelf-like display of popular magazines. Back in "the day" even the small neighborhood ma-and-pop stores usually had one of those comics racks. So why aren't comics still sold with such easy access and consumability for kids? If comics were sold back in "my day" as they are presently, I would've been out of the loop. Comic specialty shops are not usually located in small rural towns. Kids still buy "over-the-counter" just like many adults still do..But even prior to the internet, comics over-the-counter accessibility in neighborhood markets had mostly disappeared.. As far as I'm concerned, this decline in, or lack of, such accessibility isn't a good thing.
This was so great! I've always had an interest in comics, but never knew where to begin. Between your video & the fact that my brother-in-law now works at the comic book shop, I have a feeling I know where my disposable income is going to start being spent :) Love your vids!
I live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas, and there is a surprising amount of comic stores and places to buy comics here. I mean, there are comics on like every street corner. And the legion comic stores are fricking awesome. Quite a good place to live for a nerd. So if you ever come to Dallas, don’t go to a rodeo, don’t go to a dirt bike race, go to a comic shop. I promise you won’t regret it.
We can't lie, Sex Criminals is incredible. You might have that initial thought that it sounds stupid. It's actually incredibly well paced and the art is pretty cool.
so far i started with the new Star Wars comics to get involved with the new cannon and tbh i loved them that i started reading other Marvel comics and indie comics
I just started getting interested in reading comic books and I've never read one before so I hope I don't seem too old to start now. Until recently my idea of a comic book was something printed on very, very cheap paper (practically toilet paper) with a small number of pages and basically only something kids would read. I have been enlightened though. I think the trade paperbacks interest me the most. I want to read something a bit more substantial than a single issue. I don't really know which type of comic, basically I'm open to trying anything right now at this very early stage.
What type of films and TV shows do you like. If you like detective stuff then "CHEW" may be a good choice if you don't mind a bit of graphic gore. It's about a detective who solves crimes through psychic impression from eating different foods and sometimes human meat. If you liked "Stranger Things" then "paper girls" is a good choice for you. It's about teenagers in the 80's where they find a machine in the basement and find weird men in all black stealing from them who speak in a alien language and crazy stuff happens.
Hello. so i am late to watching this but lately ive been reading more comics and graphic novels. ive read a bit of judge dredd (hated the character) and v for vendetta(one of the best books ever) and a LOAD of spawn(own issues 1-103), but ive been a bit obsessed with v for vendetta(read it 14 times) and am a very political, crytical person. have you by any chance read Transmetropolitan? and if so, what where your thoughts?
I just started reading comics last fall. I can't believe I went so long without getting into them. Some of the writing is absolutely amazing. There's so many stories out there that I want to read. Great vid btw!
Thank You so much for this video! You really helped me at a bad time in my life. Coming to Melbourne in February 2017 and looking forward to meeting you at All Star Comics and buying heaps of comics! Thank you for joining TH-cam and introducing me to the wonderful world of Comics :)
I've found that advertisements are much more common in DC and Marvel comics. I almost exclusively collect Image comics and the majority of them have all the advertising in the back of the issue which is much more preferable to me. I understand though that sometimes the ads are placed in a way so that the reveal of a certain event is on a new page so you don't accidentally glance over to it whilst reading the page prior to it. I'd never even thought of the idea of a "back issue" section, thanks for enlightening me! I'll no doubt be spending a lot more on my next trip to my local store as there are a few trades I have read that are still in the single digits in releases of issues and would love to pick some up if only for the awesome cover art!
nerdburgerj I have to say a few of my purchases that I am currently subscribed to were chosen just for the cover art haha. Luckily they're all great stories too :)
nerdburgerj Myself and my girlfriend are starting into the world of comics and have started to collect a few different stories but we're having issues with one graphic novel in particular. She's looking to get into Wonder Woman (or at least give it a try) and intends to pick up the new 52 line, the problem is, she was recommended Wonder Woman: The Hiketeia and we've both tried to find it - Amazon seem to be only stocking an Italian printing, the Book Depository don't seem to have it at all and our "local" comic book store don't seem to have it and/or are unable to get it in. I've been on the DC site and it says "Available Now" but as mentioned, even though the publisher seem to make out it's for sale and thereby in print, it seems very hard to come by. Do you have any recommendations on how or rather where we could possibly get a hard copy, rather than a digital version, of this particular comic... without having to pay ridiculous money? Thanks for any help on this and also sorry about the length of the post on what should have been a straight forward question.
Hi Shane. I just looked into the Wonder Woman Hiketeia problem. It seems the book is no longer in print so the only way you will be able to find it is second hand. :(
nerdburgerj Thanks very much for looking into it, appreciate it... We have since found a copy from/in America, just waiting on it to arrive now (excitement!!). I have also introduced the girlfriend to your awesome channel and by the sounds of things you have now become her new girl crush, word is spreading here in Ireland of your joy and enthusiasm! Keep it up. Thanks again for the help.
Hi. I have no friends who reads comic books so I'm just gonna ask this here. I recently got back to comic books after 10+ years, my favorite way back was Spawn and Sin City. Now I just finished Suicide Squad and want more comic books to read, so what would you guys recommend? I really like the dark, gritty, adult stuff so yeah. Thanks in advance.
Sin City just released a full collection called Big Damn Sin City. I did a review on my channel if you're interested at all. Also check out United States of Murder Inc., Fatale, and anything else done by Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips.
Image Comics have been releasing some great books for the last few years. One of my favorite books is Manifest Destiny. Check out the covers when you get the chance.
When I started reading comics I was extremely overwhelmed. I've reading for about 10 years now and I still have a hard time getting my monthly issues. My comic store is really disorganized, I really dont like one perticular person who works there and I dont have another close comic store. But for the love of comics I still go there! Nice video though Educating the new member of the comunity brings so much joy!
I was never really a big comic person. But I recently started getting into them. At the moment, I'm still trying to catch up with The Walking Dead comics (HUGE fan of TWD) and I'm very close to doing so. Next, I'll be going onto the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle comics (big fan of TMNT as well) and then Ghostbusters comics. Also, being a person who likes creepy shit and violence, I might start reading Lenore and maybe even Nail Biter. Seems sorta interesting. And I just adore the artstyle for Lenore. Also, that comic you held up called "Chew" looks interesting. Sorta looks like a zombie thing, which I love. I might start with that as well sometime in the future.
Thank you much for making this video! It was incredibly helpful! I was pretty intimidated by all the comics out there. I picked up Rat Queen and loved! Can't wait to read more!
Just stumbled upon your video, I can relate with that love for Jeffrey Brown...not only is it brutally honest, but also really accessible and inspiring to anyone who has an non traditional style of drawin.g. I also got into super hero comics later in life..I kinda worked my way backwards.
Hi, I've watched your video and I found it very helpful, I was wondering if you have any favourite on-line stores that are reasonable with a wide selection of choice for a beginner, I've always been into Marvel/DC, my closest Comic Book store is about 30 miles away from where I live although id rather go in store so I could pick, feel and see them it sometimes proves difficult. I'd like to go and start from back issues then catch up to the present time so i can have more knowledge on the stories, i don't just want to read Marvel/DC though.
I've always been into books, mostly Fantasy and dystopians. But since I barely have any time to do anything next to all the work i have to do for University, I can maybe start a book and get like 100-200 pages in and not have time to continue until like 2 or 3 weeks later. It's hard to read just a chapter or two a day as it takes a chapter or two to really get the "mind movie" going. So I tried out reading comics and ordered The Walking Dead Hardcovers and Death Note (it's a Manga but whatever) and loved it. As I live in Germany but like to read the originals in english, it's hard for me to get anything but TPB from Amazon (my local comic shop is a joke). Your go-to comic store looks like a dream come true! If you have any recommendations for me, I'd appreciate it. I like most things fantasy, supernatural and magic, dystopians, strange and funny things, but also really deep stuff. I think I'm gonna stay away from superheroes for a bit longer because the sheer ammount of content intimidates me and I wouldn't know where to start. And I really like your hair :)
This is really helpful! I started getting into comic through Free Comic Book Day this year and have been lost ever since, wondering what to buy. Thank you!
Awesome video, right I really been into superhero stuff again after watching thing like arrow, the flash, daredevil and the watchman again. The thing is how do u start I want to read the flash comics but their are so many issues. I don't want to miss out on some cool ass story i also really want to read the about how Barry became the flash and All that cool shit but where would I start because 70 years is a lot of catch up and that a lot of time. Also the hulk comic. I'm a massive hulk fan :)
Hello,I'm trying to find the starting point of "The Darkness" comics. I played the game and loved it,but I don't know where to begin it? Any help would be appropriated!
Thank you so much, I didn't realise there were so many options. I started reading Unlikely on my Kindle just for a test run to see if I like it, so far loving it :)
Great video. In regards to the standing order or the pull list. How do I make one? how far in advance can I place an order (say something that I want is released in April, can I go today to be added to the hold list)? Do I give the store a list of any and all books from a certain series and they will hold them for me (for example: I go to the store and say I want to add Night of The Living Deadpool to my list.. will they hold the very next issue or all the following issues that are released after that? or do I have to go weekly with what I want to order for the following weeks? I hope that I didn't confuse you, and thanks a lot in advanced. I started reading comics this week and I can't get enough.
Bags and boards are the way to go...yeah you spend a bit more but the adverts will bring you back to the time you bought them. The story is there and the adverts make you think about old times and what was popular when you bought the comics. I just reviewed my original '87 Suicide Squad comics and I loved the adverts..
So helpful! Thank you for your awesome recommendations. unfortunately here in Sydney Aus there aren't many places near me to buy comics & the places that do have very few selections; BUT I found many on my play store app! Can't collect them that way but I have barely any room anyway with all my plushies & figurines xD Purchasing Unlikely now! P.s you are amazing
I use to be really in to Comics. After moving to New Zealand I stopped for some reason. Now I would like to get back in to comics but have forgotten a lot. So, what comics would you recommend. I mainly read Superhero Comics but would be interested in reading something a bit different. Please let me know. Thanks and P.S I really enjoyed the video and the friendly energy you had.
Just (right absolutely now) finishd watching your video , and 1- fell in love with your laugh , 2- came because of the hair , stayd because the eybrows should match. . . . . . .oh and the comics , 3- That was AAwessoome!! usually just see people talking "Super Hero " comics , nice to see sombody talking abou tthe rest. . .will tottaly see your others vids................................oh and 4- just realized its been almost 1year to the day (gotta love almost irony) You're Awesome!!
Lenore is what got me into comics and graphic novels!! She was my first tattoo! I can't wait until I'm back in the states (or somewhere else where English is the main language) so I can shop in stores again. Thank you for this video!
Oh my goodness. I stumbled onto this vid because it was one of my "what to what" video suggestions. YOU ARE MY SPIRIT ANIMAL!!!!! *subscribed*. Great vid! :D
Im into comics at the moment because of my obsession with Spider man and deadpool, practicaly marvel, but i don't know where to buy them and its so expensive online :(
i use the apps DC and Marvel have the comics they're are easy to use and the it makes it easier to read ( i just started to read comics.. and here where i live there are not many Comicbook stores arround
You can read and find your favorite comics on the website (read comics online) i do it. I am happy to see another girl reading comics. I thought i am alone.
How would I start reading a comic thats been around for a long time?I want to start reading X-Men but it's been going on for so long that I have no idea where to begin.
Try Digital, and then if you want, you can go to a comic store or eBay and buy X-men comic lots, you'll find tons of people trying to rid themselves of single issues or trades, new owners.
Advertisements are horrible when you first read it, but ten years from now they're one of the best things about the single issue. The older the better!
i'm trying to learn more about comic books and they are very confusing when it comes to the word *volume, issue, edition, and this symbol #* I look everywhere and couldn't find a *straight answer* and got more confuse. I hope i'm right about what i'm about to say.....volume is like a tv series full of episodes like "Season 1: 1- 10 episodes* Volume 1 #1-10 is the same thing? okay if that is true that you start over in each volume why do other comic books continue counting like this "Volume 1 #1 -10, Volume 2 #11 - and so on" I thought you are suppose to start over in each volume.....okay my next question is what is issue? is it like a movie? "one shot" story, no series like the volume? the issue is it stand alone story? and one more question why do some comic books have # without saying volume or issue? what does that mean? is the # is also a one shot? and I still don't get the edition...i'm sorry if i'm confusing you...I just want to understand this comic book world more. I feel stupid but I would appreciated if anyone can explain all of this to me. thank you in advanced :)
A Volume isn't exactly like a TV season but you're close. Most TV seasons don't start fresh every time there's a new season, unless they're an anthology. Same with comics. Most don't start over fresh each volume, its just a continuation. So basically volumes are bigger books that just collect issues. Issues either come out weekly or monthly and after there are a few issues (usually 4 or 6,) they'll get put in a volume. For example, The Walking Dead comic is currently on its 24th Volume, and 148th issue. Volume 24 collects #139-144 (6 issues) and once the 150th issue comes out, Volume 25 will be released soon after, which will collect #145-150 (again, 6 issues. so just like with TV, you could read a comic weekly or monthly, and be caught up with it, or you could start a comic that's been running for a long time and "binge-read" the volumes until you catch up. It is very similar to TV in that regard.
Can you talk about how many comics are released for each comic? How do you know? (Example: for she hulk issue 13 how many of those were printed?) thanks from California
I love your videos! Saw a video and just had to subscribe, you're fabulous! I recently bought myself a few issues of an independent comic called The Molting by Terrance Zdunich (writer and star of Repo! The Genetic Opera) - he's my fave thing at the mo! I am awaiting arrival of those but after this vid, I will be certain to check out online and see what other things are out there. This was full of useful info for a newb, so thanks! Stay awesome and gorgeous 😜💜 xx
The problem o have with comic books is the continuity. Where should I start, and where do I contribue off from there. I want to try reading classic x-men, Spider-Man Guardians of the galaxy, fantastic four
I'm beginning to look into comic books and your video definitely helps a lot! Just what I was looking for! Thanks for sharing this video!! Very informative and great personality! Subscribed!!
I had a question, I'm interested in marvel super heros like Iron man, spider man, and rocket raccoon but I'm not much of a fan of their classic and old looks like rocket's. Should I save my money for big comic books that have their origins or how do I get into a official series that is not a spin-off?
I'm quite a newbie in the comic book verse, but I've recently been getting into the whole thing. Umm.. I would really appreciate any suggestions of superhero and non superhero comic books to read.
I just typed in comic books on the search bar and was pinpointed right to your video just because of the wonder what you had for information. You did such an awesome job though. Really fun to watch.
i really love the captain america movies and wanted to start reading the comics... is there a certain one to start with? which would you recommend i read first? do i have to start from the beginnings and if i dont will i get confused in terms of the story line? lol im kinda "fresh mean" as i think you put it...
I realy realy want to start getting into comics! I came down to all star comics in Melbourne for the first time on Saturday. I brought two walking dead comics and I'm addicted. I'm not sure what other comics I would like?
This is great video! I'd love to get more into superheros but the Marvel and DC universes are MASSIVE. So its hard to know what to read or where to start as far as figures like Batman or Spiderman go. But great advice for beginners, it's only been within the past year that I've really gotten into comics and i would be so confused at first. Also, I would recommend your local library as a great place to get comics and graphic novels, especially when you're on a budget like me!
Christiaan Frölich Choose a character you like and maybe start with volume one of the DC new 52 for Batman and Wonder Woman. And volume 1 of the now series of Deadpool. You don't need to know much back story for them and they are a good jumping off point.
shakib ishfaq I would recommend all the Batman series you've stated, also if you're looking for a specific Batman New 52 title, go with the Scott Snyder run.
Skeletal Pryde hi thank you. I've been reading the Scott Snyder run and enjoyed it very much! Infact I've branched out and read other related comics also. I'm enjoying Nightwing very much.
Im new to... so my big question about trades is if have the complete cover artworks of the singles? you know every single have a own unique cover, is a shame if the trade miss the cover of each single, any help?
Just a question! Are there any nuclear bomb conspiracy/apocalypse or radioactivity based comics? I have been obsessed with Fallout and nuclear bombs and apocalypses
Finn Thompson check out "East and West" from image comics. one half of the world wants the world to end and the other doesn't (basically). so they fight each other over it. you might like it.
Hey thanks for the help on getting started on comic books. I always thought there was only DC and Marvel comics in the world so thank you so much for this video. I am now loving them after looking at some of the amazing art inside them. Also with where you work is there a branch at Brisbane by any chance because your store looks great? or are you on ebay?
Girlfriend: Who is the crazy lady on your iPad?
Me: Its my personal comic book instructor. She helps me to spend my money on quality novelish art products.
Girlfriend: I already don't like her.
Me: She also instructed me to buy you flowers for every TP i own, and fancy restaurant trips for every third graphic novel i buy.
Girlfriend: You know what... She looks very nice, i like her hair!
Its all a matter of negotiation. ;)
+Nubriel Haha that's great :D
Awesome!
I just started buying comics. Didn't have a place to put them so I used an empty case of beer.
+robmoney That my friend is a very clever idea.
The only digital ones I have are the illegal kind and the reader I have or them is a pain. Way too much zooming in and out to read. Has it got better?
Buy a bcw comic box
lol
Can't get more American than that😈
Bruh im here in 2020 ill love to get into comics
I read them here and there until recently. I started reading them a lot more. In particular batman and joker stuff. Or anything Grant Morrison. I'm reading his swamp thing serious now.

Since you have half red hair and half blue, what if you made one eyebrow red and one blue? :o
+enthra 2k I do my eyebrows pink every day now. But I will try the blue and pink eyebrow tomorrow just because it is such a rad suggestion.

Hmmm.... Maybe check out Nail Biter that is one of my fave horror comics. And you might like a Batman comic called the Killing Joke.
Sin City just released a full collection called Big Damn Sin City. I did a review on my channel if you're interested at all. Also check out United States of Murder Inc., Fatale, and anything else done by Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips.
batman eternal is good
Image Comics have been releasing some great books for the last few years. One of my favorite books is Manifest Destiny. Check out the covers when you get the chance.
I am so happy that someone underlined that single issues are not Graphic Novels
When I started reading comics I was extremely overwhelmed. I've reading for about 10 years now and I still have a hard time getting my monthly issues. My comic store is really disorganized, I really dont like one perticular person who works there and I dont have another close comic store.
But for the love of comics I still go there!
Nice video though
Educating the new member of the comunity brings so much joy!
That's awesome to hear that your love of comics can battle anything. :)
How can anyone dislike this video?!
Let's go TWD woohoo
I love your accent!
Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi!

Thank you much for making this video! It was incredibly helpful! I was pretty intimidated by all the comics out there. I picked up Rat Queen and loved! Can't wait to read more!
Kailey Fergushill That is so rad to hear. Rat Queens is one of my all time faves.
hey you seem really cool please join our group and drop some knowledge on us sometime facebook.com/search/top/?q=neon%20bunker
HELP! Can you recomend me an online comick book store where you buy comics and they get delivered on your addres?
Helps a lot, thanks a lot.😃
Thank you!
desertislanddream Happy to help :)
Jeffery Brown is amazing. I love his work so much
That Nerdy Otaku Pokemon Trainer RAD!!!!!!
This is the first video of cazz i watch, and the reason i got into Comics!!
thx cazz for all the help :D
Awesome video, right I really been into superhero stuff again after watching thing like arrow, the flash, daredevil and the watchman again. The thing is how do u start I want to read the flash comics but their are so many issues. I don't want to miss out on some cool ass story i also really want to read the about how Barry became the flash and All that cool shit but where would I start because 70 years is a lot of catch up and that a lot of time. Also the hulk comic. I'm a massive hulk fan :)
JakeF1243 Maybe start off with book one of the DC new 52 and once you've read a little new stuff head back and do some more historic story lines.
Hello,I'm trying to find the starting point of "The Darkness" comics. I played the game and loved it,but I don't know where to begin it? Any help would be appropriated!
+Chandler Garner I would check out Darkness Origins volume 1. It's written by the incredible Garth Ennis. Hope this helps. :)
+nerdburgerj Thank you! :)
I love your high energy personality. It made the video so enjoyable to watch.
Just (right absolutely now) finishd watching your video , and 1- fell in love with your laugh , 2- came because of the hair , stayd because the eybrows should match. . . . . . .oh and the comics , 3- That was AAwessoome!! usually just see people talking "Super Hero " comics , nice to see sombody talking abou tthe rest. . .will tottaly see your others vids................................oh and 4- just realized its been almost 1year to the day (gotta love almost irony)
You're Awesome!!
Lenore is what got me into comics and graphic novels!! She was my first tattoo! I can't wait until I'm back in the states (or somewhere else where English is the main language) so I can shop in stores again. Thank you for this video!
Kitsch Vixen No way! You have to show me a pic of your tattoo. That is so rad.
Oh my goodness. I stumbled onto this vid because it was one of my "what to what" video suggestions. YOU ARE MY SPIRIT ANIMAL!!!!! *subscribed*. Great vid! :D
would it be too much to ask for a comic book collection?
It would be a very long video but I will def keep it in my to make video list. 😄
Georgia had a comic book store 030 I gotta find one. Any clue where that might be???
I am getting into comics but im scared my parents/friends wont let me go to the comic store or make fun of me
what should i do?
jack skeen You should do what makes you happy :)
Im into comics at the moment because of my obsession with Spider man and deadpool, practicaly marvel, but i don't know where to buy them and its so expensive online :(
Natalie Herondale Your local library should have comics that you can check our for FREE! Just ask at the counter. :)
i use the apps DC and Marvel have the comics they're are easy to use and the it makes it easier to read ( i just started to read comics.. and here where i live there are not many Comicbook stores arround
You can read and find your favorite comics on the website (read comics online) i do it. I am happy to see another girl reading comics. I thought i am alone.
I don't really know to much about comics but I really like the series lumberjanes and I'm wondering if you have any recommendations?
Try Rat Queens. It's about four female monster hunters for hire. Lots of girl power!
just bought unlikely really looking forward to reading it.
How would I start reading a comic thats been around for a long time?I want to start reading X-Men but it's been going on for so long that I have no idea where to begin.
I'm in the same boat. I started this month with Storm #1. I will totally include where to start with xmen in the next video. Great question.
Try Digital, and then if you want, you can go to a comic store or eBay and buy X-men comic lots, you'll find tons of people trying to rid themselves of single issues or trades, new owners.
Ive never read a comic book, a new comic shop just opened in my town so I decided to go...I didn’t know what was what, thank you for this video!
I love watching this video as I bag and board my latest finds! :D
Advertisements are horrible when you first read it, but ten years from now they're one of the best things about the single issue. The older the better!
whats the difference between trade paperbacks, story arcs and bundles?
Thusitha de Silva Great question. I am working on the next video in this series so stay tuned. :)
this was really helpful and i'm super excited to go and buy some comic books now :) thank you, you're lovely
this was my first video ever for nerdburger liek a year ago. good times :D
i'm trying to learn more about comic books and they are very confusing when it comes to the word *volume, issue, edition, and this symbol #* I look everywhere and couldn't find a *straight answer* and got more confuse.
Coming to Melbourne in just over a weeks time from Adelaide, can’t wait to spend a chunk of change at All Star comics!
I'd love to get into vintage noir comics. What are some good titles to start?
Thanks for your video, it was really helpful. I also like the positive vibe you're sending out! Cheers.
Can you talk about how many comics are released for each comic? How do you know? (Example: for she hulk issue 13 how many of those were printed?) thanks from California
YOU ARE FREAKISHLY AWESOME! That is all.
Thanks for posting. Looking forward to your next video.
I didn't even know there were Tales From the Crypt comics. You are awesome!
So cool I'm just starting off on my collection
I love comic books I’ve Got 4 boxes of them Star Wars marvel and DC sometimes I buy Doubles one to Read and store in a Box and one to Display
+Emma Morley So wonderful to hear you've already found some great comics to check out and also awesome to hear my video helped. :)
Lucca Ingemann Chortsen Maybe try Ms Marvel trade 1 (it's a fantastic series about a teen superhero) as well as Drama by Raina Telgemeier.
Wow, thanks! I'll check it out. Haha, you're awesome btw :)
New to comics and very interested in Harley Quinn. Here should I start? Have a great day
Hey Nerdburger are you reading the new Star Wars Comics that came out this week??
I just typed in comic books on the search bar and was pinpointed right to your video just because of the wonder what you had for information. You did such an awesome job though. Really fun to watch.
Capn Cummings Thanks dude. I checked out Toe Tag Riot as well. So much fun.
Its punktublier.
I love to read Fantastic 4, Death-Defying Devil, Burning Eagle and Justice League
i really love the captain america movies and wanted to start reading the comics... is there a certain one to start with? which would you recommend i read first? do i have to start from the beginnings and if i dont will i get confused in terms of the story line? lol im kinda "fresh mean" as i think you put it...
Me:👁👄👁 being a girl, quarantine has make me read comic books now lol
You’re not alone!!!
Lol i mean i seen all the dc animations same with the dc movies
Is All Star Comics still around? I went looking for it recently and I could not find it?
Interesting.
Glad you think so!
Ha! She looks like Harley Quinn
More like Hayley williams from (paramore)
UGHHH where was this video ten years ago. :) This is an excellent introduction into navigating the comic scape. Well done!
Your advices are really helpful ! Thanks !!
What's that She Hulk comic called you were holding?
Thank you for this video, I am trying to get into comics and this was a great help :)
+booksville That is so rad to hear. :)
I realy realy want to start getting into comics! I came down to all star comics in Melbourne for the first time on Saturday. I brought two walking dead comics and I'm addicted. I'm not sure what other comics I would like?
well the cool this is my local comic shop usually gives you your comic in a bag and board at the register so sometimes you wont need to buy them
This is great video!
+guitarslingeroflove So happy to hear you found the video helpful. :)
Thanks for making me feel better about getting more into comics😊
So i really dont know where to start with comics i thought about reading batman, deadpool or wonder woman but at what comic do i start?
Christiaan Frölich Choose a character you like and maybe start with volume one of the DC new 52 for Batman and Wonder Woman. And volume 1 of the now series of Deadpool. You don't need to know much back story for them and they are a good jumping off point.
k Thanks
nerdburgerj Hi is it worth reading the older Batman stories such as year one, dark night returns etc or just start with the new 52?
shakib ishfaq I would recommend all the Batman series you've stated, also if you're looking for a specific Batman New 52 title, go with the Scott Snyder run.
Skeletal Pryde hi thank you. I've been reading the Scott Snyder run and enjoyed it very much! Infact I've branched out and read other related comics also. I'm enjoying Nightwing very much.
Oh my gosh, I was just at All Star! I got a Nightwing and Teen Titans :)
Pipe Smoking Gamer Yeah, I found it a few weeks ago, I'm ordering it for next week, I'm so excited
Finn Thompson One of my faves is Sheltered and also Spread.
nerdburgerj Cool, I'll research them
There's a fallout penny arcade comic I think anyway
I'm looking for a new anime series after I finish Sailor Moon any recommendations ?
I've started reading Star Wars comics, but I don't know where to start.
Read the new STAR WARS or DARTH VADER comics by Marvel
Hey thanks for the help on getting started on comic books. I always thought there was only DC and Marvel comics in the world so thank you so much for this video. I am now loving them after looking at some of the amazing art inside them. Also with where you work is there a branch at Brisbane by any chance because your store looks great? or are you on ebay?
