Always keeping it 💯 and helping us out ✊🏾
Thanks Travis, business is all about our struggles turned into opportunities. Its not always a fun, happy, or easy time BUT the show MUST GO ON !!! #cantstopwontstop
You invested in the cleaners nice! This was super eye opening!
My partner and I thought if we helped them setup insurance we could run into issues down the line of them being reclassified to a W2 employee!
Yes !! They are thriving now !! They do have a lot more of responsibility but feel more independent & make more $$.
Also, I just gave them a link to get a free quote with next nextinsurance.sjv.io/daaQ6W
@@carolynarellano that’s exactly the route we just took two days ago! Glad to know we’re doing this correctly! Thank you so much!
Had to watch again because I forget stuff but thanks for sharing the cost of running a remote cleaning business I thought it was a lot more money and I think that's one of the reasons I feared of scaling my business
Hi Carolyn. I just purchased the course a few days ago...will the training with contractors be included vs your old model with employees?
Funny thing . Im trynna start a remote cleaning business here in NY and the key to this business is subcontractors. But need some advice on where to start. For example if an llc is necessary in the beginnkng or later on. Not sure the about the laws in ny. This video came in on right on time
I’m so glad that the video dropped at perfect timing. Here’s a link so we can set up a call. : www.cleaningbusinessmentor.com/1-on-1-calls
Wonderful and I am praying for you guys because you guys are family 🫂🙏
Thank you. Im sure one day we will have a relationship again. Everyone needs to go through life to learn their own lessons.
Booking Koola is one I use that has the features of having cleavers submit before and after pictures, client sign off , check in and check out
That’s awesome & sounds!!! My question is how much do you have to charge per resident if if the 10 99 is making $35 an hour in order for you to profit??
Well add the percentage you want to profit. So if you want a 20 percent profit do 35 x 1.20. Keep in mind for employees add 20 percent to their hourly pay because you’ll be paying taxes on that and then add your profit . 35 dollars is a lot for employee so I’m guessing in america 1099 is a subcontractor then ignore that 20 percent add on since they must provide all their stuff and do their own taxes. Just add on the profit you want let’s say it’s a 28 percent profit you want 35 x1.28
Nah you're not charging $70 for commercial clients, if you charge that much you're not winning that many bids. Im in Cali and $50 per hour is too much. The corp. Companies charge $30 per hour out here. All though $50 is how much I want to charge, I dont think I'll get a lot of business. So if you're bidding a preschool that's spending 2k per month you're charging 4k per month

All though $50 is how much I want to charge, I dont think I'll get a lot of business. So if you're bidding a preschool that's spending 2k per month you're charging 4k per month that's more than double. You'll only win a small number quotes. I got a lot of people saying I charged too much so I went down to 37 per hour but minimum wage is 16 per hour
@@rm6684 you're finding the wrong customers there's always going to be price shoppers
Can you teach us all these new methods with contractors in the cleaning course? I purchased your course but wasn't sure if you'd change the course to contractors or keep it as employees
I do talk about it in the course as I was already subbing out my commercial work !!!
How do i find construction cleaning jobs that pay after to clean after they done reconstructing a building

Do you need to issue 1099s at the end of the year to all your subcontractors? How expensive /difficult is it?
We have a certified public accountant that handles our taxes, 1099 forms etc. I would look for someone local .
I have my own cleaning business. I just started a year ago just starting to have one person that cleans with me.
Do you require subcontractors to provide their own general liability insurance?
Yes they must have an equal amount or greater than the insurance that we have and then they must add us as an additional insured
@@carolynarellanoI’m in OR and I see very hard for my cleaners to do all that paperwork even with my help.
And if they do, what stop them to leave with your clients? Or leave your business and start their own?
How do you keep a personalize service?
Just questions I have because it’s very hard to find people that want to work around here.
Thanks
The bad thing about hiring only subs is the end game. You can’t sell a company that has all subs and no employees.
You may have a point there . I suppose not everyone is thinking of exiting.
@@carolynarellano most business owners are only thinking about today. The first thing you should think about when opening a business is what’s the exit plan.
@@kenellis8137this is a lie! You can sell a business using subs. My uncle sold his construction company that used only subs. You’re selling your contracts and your interest in those contracts.
Whats your profit percentage? And how much are you charging your clients per hour. If youre paying subs $35, you would need to charge clients around $50 per hour and thats unrealistic
I’m not quite sure where you do business but I live on the East Coast and service/ live in New York and New Jersey. Our going rate is $70 an hour per person for housecleaning. $80 per person for post construction cleaning. Other cleaning businesses around us charge $80-$100 per person per hour. My only overhead are the platforms that I used to run my business (phone system, web site, scheduling platform, crm , the marketing that I do , basic liability and my full-time VA.) we’ve also been in business. Going on six years and have an amazing set of technicians. If I wanted to, I could up my prices, however I’m comfortable where we’re at. Depending on where you are servicing in the country, your cost-of-living and your prices are going to differ. For some more context, minimum wage is $15 an hour and nobody is working for less than $20 .
When your subcontractors hit the two year mark, what are you supposed to do because I heard you cannot have contractors working more than two years in your business
It's important to review your local labor laws regarding contractor classification. In some jurisdictions, using contractors long-term can lead to legal issues or reclassification as employees. To stay compliant, consider these options:
Transition to Employment: Convert long-term contractors to part-time or full-time employees.
Review Contracts: Ensure contracts clearly define the nature of the work and maintain the contractor status.
Consult a Legal Expert: Seek advice from a legal expert specializing in employment law for tailored guidance.
Staying informed and proactive about these regulations can help protect your business.
Ive honestly wanted to quit because I hated the no growth in my business
Yes 1099 is best ! So much cheaper and the cleaners get paid more for two wins !
