Just started watching MLS because of St. Louis City SC. Enjoying it 1000% more that I thought I would and never would have pictured myself as a soccer fan. My favorite is when they score they immeidately run to the crowd, and not each other. I think some other sports could learn from this.

@@BUUKAAH I've been a football fan since I was young but being in STL and the team I support I Europe I love having a team here. Especially since the stadium is very traditional and they play a very beautiful style of football

Okay... I just realized that Roman Burki is the goalkeeper for St. Louis. No wonder players are having a hard time scoring. That man was amazing at Dortmund. Holy sh*t that's awesome.

@@snipz127 He was one of the best keepers in Bundesliga. His saves were great. The Bundesliga even made a video highlighting his career. I used to watch this man at Dortmund making amazing saves. You guys are very fortunate to have such goal keeper.

@@stansmith5610 Not quite, considering there are good strikers in MLS from Europe and South America. Also, St. Louis have only played 4 clubs so far. But Burki is still one of my favorite Bundesliga keepers.

yeah its a few factors, luck, new team so no tape on how they play. But their front line is pretty solid with shots on target

St.louis had a proper play style. I hoped they would reign over MLS with their intense high press play.
St. Louis is on fire.
I was at this match and even though I have watched every Stl City match this season this was the best they played yet. Not sure if it's because I was there in person but the pressing as a team was unreal to watch in person as you can see things you don't see on the broadcast. . Keep playing like this and everything is possible. Teams will not be able to handle a well corridinated team press like this in MLS consistently. This pressing reminds me Klopp's Liverpool mane Salah Firmino hendo milly and Gini would 6 man press man city together so perfectly and kicked their ass in Champs league . This is what stl city are doing so well. And to my surprise the Brazilian Klauss for a big man looks who like a target man striker is the leader of the press and is awesome at it just like Firmino. This guy holds the ball up all game and distributed well and is faster than he looks.
The true test will be if they can keep this type of pressing going in the midst of the heat of summer.
@@donviajero2580 yeah agree. I keep waiting for the drop but their pressing has gotten better every match so far. I think the cold weather helped . During the course of the season I doubt they can keep doing that every match.

This isn’t what I was expecting for the MLS. I had much much higher expectations for this season. Disappointed isn’t even the word for the terrible play as of late.
Klauss has just invented something like a "wrecking ball routine" here, when he scored the second goal. I've never seen nobody score like that. Love it.

I was in the game - 25 degrees , was near geting frost bite hypothermia …. All was worth it. Incredible atmosphere , beautiful PREMIER LEAGUE style stadium

STL look absolutely incredible. Wrexham vibes. They score many different ways, they play hard for every second ball, they have an incredible team spirit. Love to see it. The way the game is meant to be played!
Being a Missouri native and mainly watching the four big pro sports in the US, the NFL, MLB, NBA & NHL, Soccer definitely has a beautiful flow to the game, very graceful with periods of electricity flashing up. I like it a lot.

@mrovertaken8320 Maybe in revenue and viewership, but not in cultural impact. Way more people talk about hockey, look up youtube videos about the MLS and there's almost nothing except the MLS channel itself and people ranking jerseys. Hockey has way more impact.

But they don't have atlanta's star power, and their stadium is 3 times bigger
star power isn't the only way to build a team. In fact many teams across all sports have star power but lack the secondary pieces needed for success.

As far as I'm enjoying the unstoppable aggressiveness of St. Louis, I hope they won't get dragged to it for too much, as they should play a dense defensive game if needed. I just don't want their desire for more goals to ruin smth in the future

I don't want an NFL team period - scummy league that exists today purely to enrich the owners and sell merchandise - they don't care about the fans. The only way St. Louis will ever support an NFL team is if we have a local ownership group like CITY, they pay for the stadium themselves, and they invest in the team and community. But honestly, the other NFL owners will probably fight every motion for StL to enter the league since we took them to the cleaners in court and were awarded $750 million in damages. Hope other cities wise up like us - the NFL is not worth ransoming your city's economic future.

No it's too early for that. Austin is the only team we beat that had a decent start to the season. However we definitely have a team that is moving towards a bright future.
