Idk what it is about these and the A-frame campers but I love these more than a huge camper. Maybe it’s just how simple things are? lol love it all. Trying to find a good one with shower.

I have this version in a 2022 model... I'm going camping next week for the first time. I can not wait!! This camper has it all and the small form factor. I am towing this with a Subaru Ascent SUV. I've done a dry test tow and it did great! Beyond excited for this year of camping!

Interesting. NEVER have I seen ANYONE using a motorhome to tow a pop up trailer. Seems redundant in purpose.
I totally DISAGREE with the bathroom statement. The bathroom is the reason I chose mine. We LIVE (full-time) in our popup, and we couldn't live without it. The 2021 models DO NOT come with the hard side bathroom. In the day of Covid19, more people want to have there own bathrooms, and will be using them more than ever. I just can't understand why Forest River would remove this feature. A company should never remove features only increase & add on. This was purely a revenue move because the price point has not dropped at all, yet people will be receiving less. Bad move in my opinion. And for those that are wondering, YES, you can live full-time in a popup. I am in the south. We have cold nights, but with the furnace, reflectix on all sides, and oil heater we stay warm as a bug in a rug. When bad storms come we let it down, and stay in a hotel for a night or two. We are as large or larger than many "mini's" out there.
"Price Control" may be a more appropriate phrasing. Raw material costs have doubled in some cases (like copper) from when this video was first published. Hard decisions are sometimes required to keep price points in line with consumer expectations.
Do they, or anyone, make a smaller size pop-up that's also a high-wall? I was thinking something like that 806, that just has one bed.
Because that would be pretty cool. I know it might put the price up nearer to the big ones, but what an awesome trailer that would be.
Just thinking out loud Mr. Winters, it happens when my prescriptions run out and it's the holidays and my doctor is not around to send in a refill.

Not that I've seen. If I had to guess as to why the cost of the build would basically land at the same price as something like a small enclosed travel trailer with similar features.
While the popup would weigh less given the choice most folks likely opt for the enclosed camper.

The 296 has the sofa yes. It’s a slightly bigger model overall

Even if you DID actually use it as a baby hammock, and they happened to topple out - they would land on that nice , comfy heated mattress.
So no big deal.
But my babies are both bigger than me now, so I would keep my whiskey bottle in the baby hammock, where it would safe & comfortable.
All silliness aside, if you wanted a tent trailer, why wouldn't you buy a high-wall model like this? I can see the appeal of it, but the setup/teardown effort is a no go for us.
Some people want a travel trailer when they get there, but don't want to tow a travel trailer on the way.
Seems pop ups are dying off as I can only find Forest River brands producing them for the most part. Other brands seem to be bailing on the concept.
The cream of the market has definitely risen to the top. As the market has shifted to enclosed trailers this segment of the market has certainly seen a reduction in offerings.
Oddly.. we've stayed extremely consistent with them year after year holding our ranking as the largest volume folding camper dealer for the last 4 or 5 years with roughly the same number of them sold year over year.
Yeah, I think they can’t be beat for folks in HOA governed neighborhoods with rules against RVs and who also don’t want to pay storage fees. This sucker can be tucked into a garage for safe keeping out of view for FREE.
How tall is the camper without the air conditioner?
I do not know as it’s standard and we do not have one on hand to measure

Really depends on the vehicle.
Shooting from the Hip? I'd say something like "if the loaded weight of the camper is less than half your tow rating, then don't worry about it. If it's less than 75%, then consider it. Beyond that you'll likely want them."
A lot of it simply boils down to personal comfort. I know this -- You'd never regret having the stability of the extra hitching, but you might regret NOT having it.
Haylett RV I just bought a new 2019 Ford Ranger Lariat 2WD which I believe has a 7500 lb tow rating
