@@nostalgicgamer1363 play it like a musou. Grind old levels at lower/higher difficulties until your main moves are a few levels higher before going to the next stage.
It failed in 2016 because it was just extremely broken on arrival, from game breaking bugs to an online glitch that wouldn't let you join your friends, or kick you mid session making you start over. Everyone that reviewed it said it wasn't a bad game, just unplayable. By the time they fixed the game the internet had did what it did and moved on to the next game
I dont think people realize it, i don't think platinum even realize it, but mutants in manhattan isnt character action; If you play it like a MUSOU game, the whole thing starts to click a lot more. Items and xp that you only collect at the end of the mission A map you run around and complete missions on to unlock the final confrontation Grinding Simplistic(ish) combat Im playing warriors orochi 3 at the same time as this at the moment and the similarities and playstyles are strikingly similar. I was on forums when this game was being developled and it got shit on for the sole reason that tmnt fans wanted a 4 player couch- co-op game and this wasnt that. it IS fun tho, especially with the hidden bosses.
Are you intereseted on the upcoming game TMNT: Mutants Unleashed which is a sequel to Mutant Mayhem? Visuals are great, they tried to replicate the movie's artstyle which they did a great job, obviously is not as good as the movie which sucks bc with the "next-gen" tech consoles have nowadays some would expect a 1:1 recreation, i guess budget might be an impediment too who knows. People are exceptical bc Outright games is involved but this time they are just the publisher, the actual developer is Aheartfulofgames, spanish developer mainly known for Heart & Slash, a 3D action brawler roguelike, they have experience with the genre so i hope they deliver a good game to say the least.
To be honest, I'm unrealistically excited for it. Had no clue it's being developed by the same creators as Heart and Slash. That's been in my backlog for a while. Can't wait to see the final product and I hope aheartfulofgames can pull it off!
@@PizzaDad Yeah im cautiously optimistic too, idk what to expect but i hope the best for them since they know what they are doing, they should take their time and support the game for a long time. Combat wise i hope is more than your typical style over substance tryhardy button mashy "character" action game (people should just call them hack and slash) with a comboluted moveset, something simple yet excellent yk. we will see.
@@PizzaDad I'm in the same boat tbh I didn't want to be cuz Outright games publishing will make you very skeptical but I played Heart & Slash and while I hope their TMNT game goes in a different direction, it showed me Aheartfulofgames has a solid fundamental understanding of the genre, very fun and unique little game. The game has had a few (7 or 8) hands on impressions and an easy allies video and they have all been very positive about what they played, the game is also getting special editions, a season pass, has been playable for the public at FanExpo Canada and now Tokyo Game Show, it's getting a cross promo toyline. And well it looks very good, has the art director from the movie involved and its getting an artbook, I'm not saying we're in the clear but it actually looks like an effort rather than a cash grab. Outright typically aims at kids but many of the impressions state that the game is pretty tough, doesn't shy away from combat complexity, and has the Devil May Cry style rank mechanic as well as grading your combat encounters throughout a mission and giving you an overall ranking by the end, impressions constantly state the game is designed with older players in mind unlike most of Outright's output, I believe to accommodate for kids it has a dynamic difficulty system where enemies mutate and change depending on how skilled the player is, they don't explain how this works but I'd assume if you consistently rank poorly the game will probably ease up on you? not sure how this will play out. I got very excited and I have been trying to dig up every little crumb i can get on the game tbh, it has a lot of people who don't do homework bashing it or writing it off because either Outright games, or just it being based on Mutant Mayhem(which was a great movie) and not their old turtles, so I'd really love to see the game rise up against all the naysayers and genuinely be a great time, I'm rooting for it.
Korra & TMNT were nothing more than glorified licensed games and people's expectations were astronomically high just because Platinum was attached. People/Reviewers let themselves down not Plat.
I like the game, it’s fun, entertaining, and full of potential. It’s definitely full of possibilities but I wouldn’t mind more games that’re open worlded with peak combat and graphics
I didn't buy it because I was really mad at it for not having couch co-op, especially it being a tmnt game with 4 main characters. Then I heard how repetitive the gameplay was and was glad I didn't buy it. It sounds like if I gave it a chance I would have liked it though. Nice video
mutants in manhattan is remembered worse, but korra was worse in the content and gameplay and since, welllll, babylon's fall happened. Also, 4p couch co-op is ridiculous to expect from a platinum action game. I remember a lot of hate because this was when kamiya stopped heading platinum projects and fans that used to call them ninjas for hire started saying they were spread too thin. This persisted until Automata iirc
this game isnt even bad tho, it may not be the best but its still good. like would you rather play peggle or smth???? i dont really get why this game got such low reviews especially since its not even a bad game
It's crazy I think this game is awesome I hate how I cant play this game on my ps5 on like shell shocked difficulty. Idk this games fun as fuck when there's a million things happening
This game actually looks pretty fun. I was not expecting that. This pleases me.
It's not a bad game to me
Yeah why are people hating on it, and to me the art looks really cool especially the Bosses
I'm just playing it as of yesterday ..I like it I just have to learn how to upgrade
People never gave it a shot. People wanted same room 4-player like the old arcade games.

@@47Jonesy thank you for the tip! I certainly will
This game looks fun. I found that most reviews nowadays are biased and crowd pleasing...

That’s fine if you like musou games. If you don’t you probably won’t enjoy it.
I hope one day we get another Tmnt game like this

RWBY Grimm Eclipse is a game similar to MiM.
That might be interesting to talk about considering the unfortunate Rooster Teeth situation. Thanks for the suggestion!
