About the garden: be sure to only put old chicken manure, not hot or fresh since it'll burn any plants. Also be sure to put mulch or a cover crop on that large plot, the dirt loses nutrients if uncovered from the sun, a simple layer of mulch will protect it well.
What grain and seed you do feed them you really should ferment for 3 days and set up a rotation of it. It will save you 25-35% in grain since it will fill them better as well as the nutrients being more bioavailable for them. It works wonders!

Sir, can you please elaborate more on the fermenting process and the whole procedure plus the effect on a more detailed answer? Should I ferment my seeds in a bucket of water for three days and then give it to my chickens? How much fermented seeds can you give a chicken before they start to get sick? Does it have any bad side-effect?

But just to add to feeding chickens grain free......try & pour all your manure ie you mentioned pigs, but all manure , cow, rabbit, chicken , horse etc in one big section to mound up somewhere then after a few weeks set the chickens loose on it & watch them go crazy eating their bus & slugs etc. High protein at no cost. 😄

@@tirsocruze5816 never got response. In fact, if you are in Africa, probably best available seed is maize (corn). Search the net and TH-cam for hydroponic fodder, you will find lot of explanation (English and Spanish) with some differences in method

Hey Doctor, please keep us informed if using the fodder affect the eggs 🥚 production. We know this will reduce the cost of feeding. Thank you

    Hi, Dr Daniel
Just a quick question. Would you advise one to use fodder on day-old chicks? Or should one continue with the commercial feed when the chicks are still small?

Excellent project. Have you tried fermenting commercial feeds or organic grains. I have read that this reduces your feed by one third. I am trying it out on my chickens. I have noticed that the chickens eat less and are full for longer. I love your videos. I am also going to try the barley fodder and will look for the BSF. Thank you for the tips. God Bless you!

Hello Daniel, you can also give them banana tree , just scrape the banana tree, or you can chop in small pieces, mix it with brown sugar(molases) and add some local salt , then fermentation in 14 days. "semoga bermanfaat"

Hello - I just discovered your channel and immediately subscribed. I have one question: How do you know or are going to know how to portion this different and more various kind of food for the chickens so that each of them always gets the right amount of nutrition? Thank you and keep up the great work!
