  • How to program the Hobbywing Skywalker ESC using the throttle on your transmitter. This allows you to change the brake settings, battery type, start mode and more.
    This works for the skywalker series of ESC's. To do this you need a receiver bound to the transmitter and connected to the ESC.
    It also demonstrates how to calibrate the throttle positions.
    For an excellent description of this process please refer to the owner's manual.

    Great video! My question is I have the freewing mig29, and has 2 of these esc's 100amp each. Do I calibrate both at same time or 1 at a time?? I did calibrate both at same time, and still have dead band.

    Please help - when I try to do the first step - calibration- with the throttle up, and plug in a battery to the esc, instead of a couple of beeps - I get a constant series of beeps that does not stop, even after I lower the throttle.

    I needed to use my motor and Skywalker (12a) esc from my plane in my airboat and I'm using a pistol grip RC car radio but because the default position of the trigger throttle is 70-30, my motor comes on until I push full brake. I tried reprogramming the esc by holding full throttle, powering the esc, waiting for the beeps and then letting the trigger go back to neutral, listening for the beeps, then unplugging the battery pack from the esc. When I power the esc again, I push full brake and then full throttle to arm the esc, the motor starts running again at a high idle until I push full brake again to stop the motor. Are these esc's incompatible with car radios? I even tried adjusting my throttle trim and subtrim towards the brake, but they maxed out to a low idle.

      You might have success by programming the throttle to less than full on. For example, you might try having the throttle at half power then power the ESC and reducing the throttle to zero. That might fake the ESC out to think that half throttle was full throttle. Just a thought.
      Perhaps you could post your experience so other people would benefit.

    Mine doesn't calibrate, after a long series of short beeps and long pauses, it will beep short and short pauses indicating that the throttle is not in buttom position. Also, no 2 short beeps even in max throttle before powering up the esc. any fix?

    • @bensonfilmworks7595
      @bensonfilmworks7595  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure I quite understand what's going on. Could it be your transmitter needs calibrating? On the Open/Edge Tx models you can calibrate the stick positions. Also, did you start things out by powering up the ECS with transmitter throttle fully advanced. Wait for the beep then fully retard the throttle. This teaches the ESC what fully advanced and fully retarded signals are. Once done you can proceed with choosing your options.
