Hailed as a “Sax Phenom” by the New York Daily News, Chad LB has toured globally as a bandleader, and with superstars ranging from Chris Botti to Taylor Swift. He has been a featured soloist with premiere ensembles like the Juilliard Jazz Orchestra, and he was formerly a prominent member of the multi GRAMMY winning Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra. I'm clapping for the piano solo; beautiful; no pyrotechnics, just lyricism and swing. This is one of my all-time favorite tunes, a beautiful choro. And Chad killed it, no surprise there. Just saw the names; these guys really are Brazilians!
@@grahamthomason8796 I was referring to the form; it's a choro: minor theme followed by major, but I suppose you could quibble. It's an A B form, and most choros (if memory serves) are ABA, major to minor or the opposite. You're right about the rhythm - more of a bossa feel, and it's usually considered a bossa.

@@MrRezillo as estruturas no Choro e Bossa as vezes parecem ser iguais...mas as linguagens são totalmente diferentes...esta musica em particular é uma Bossa Nova e um classico...ja o Choro tem uma outra linguagem de articulações e acentuações diferentes e um padrão AA-BB-A-CC- A CODA
@@jz7532 Okay; thanks for the correction. I'll listen to Jacobo do Bandolim etc. some more. I was thinking mostly of the switch between major and minor sections. Most of the bossas I've played are AABA, as I'm sure you know.

That high baffle mouthpiece is so powerful, it has been a major discovery for me (that and sanding the reeds). I love Jobim, has anyone heard "A felicidade"? It is on this same line... Gorgeous!

Nice. This is a beast o a tune. You might want to check it out with Jobim. You got one wrong note in the melody and if you check out most Jobim recordings, he plays a DMaj7 chord in Bar 7 of the Second section (bar23). Everybody misses that one
