If you might would share with me/us what all settings or/and filters I must uses with my MINI 2 to achieve the smoothness and sharpness as you have displayed here in your video, I would greatly appreciate it. This afternoon I did a range test with the latest DJI fly app and the 1.4.0 app. The latest fly-app give less distance. Something has been change in the firmware.
Gimble is still off slightly. That's one problem of not using a case bangs n knocks dirt & debris. I have also not turned mini off properly once or twice so I now pull the battery to make sure I don't over load the motors.
It might just be me but I have two Mini2’s and both exhibit video stuttering at random times with full signal. I will have to keep testing. I don’t recall ever seeing the live video feed stutter before this firmware update.

Hello Darren, the only issue I found after updating the firmware was when I went to download the footage on to iPhone, but the download button was greyed out and wouldn’t allow me to download. I transferred the files from the memory card, reformatted it and then copied back, but the app then didn’t pick the files up….I still have the footage but my laptops 🧑🏽💻 old and slow, so watching back is like having buffer face….not sure if it was just a one off or the update….disappointing as I got some great footage…☹️
Always watching your videos for updates you seem to get them before me so it’s always good to see haha I’ve got a iPhone 12 pro with a mini 2 and I have updated it, had my first app crash and then realised that the return to home button on screen only had the one option to “land” not return to home like it used to have the two just thought I’d see if I’m missing a trick with the on screen return to home button thank you 🙏🏻 But the update definitely fixed the fpv mode that never used to work correctly but seems to do the job pretty well now 😁🙌🏻
I have android and was running 1.4.2 for the last month or so. On the Mini and Mini 2, the FPV was having an issue when connecting. The controller, the quad and I were all ready to fly but we were all still waiting for the FPV to show up on the phone. I didn't have the delay on the Air 2s but both Minis had this long delay. Since the update to 1.4.4 it seemed like the issue was resolved but I'll have to test it some more today.
I just got my new Mini 2 and updated to 1.03. Previous version with a friends Mini 2 had Zero issues. Mine with 1.03, froze the screen twice at about 300' away and about 70' up. It came and went 3x during that flight. More testing tomorrow as it got too hot to be out there. The problem could have been heat - it was 107F at the park.
Hi Darren, you seem to have a lot of problems with your gimbal alignment, i don't have that issue, it is always spot on horizontal, could your gimbal possibly be slightly damaged or off line in some way? As far as the updates go, i have had no problems at all, fully up to date on everything, keep up the good work.
Looking at buying dji mini 2 this week. Only prob some people don't buy because no obstacles avoidance and should buy mavic air 2 instead. Getting bit confusing as a first time pot drone user
looks like it takes off from the grass landing strip on the right, where there are 2 people standing, at the 0:32 point. looks like they are heading out for another launch at 3:33
Not tried with 1.4.4 as yet but was previously getting bad signal. Not getting the poor horizon alignment as some are so I do wonder if there is a physical alignment issue on the drone itself rather than firmware and it requires a setting tweak to dial out where what it really needs is the gimbal physically realigned?
Hi Darren really enjoying your DJI Mini 2 content. Off topic question if I may please. After completing a quickshots routine on the mini 2 such as Rocket is it possible to capture video of the return to the point of origin ,as it doesn't seem to do this by default. Many thanks

Well I had my Mini 2 out 5 times since buying it in April and I always get the tilted horizon if I yaw and gain height I was on the point of sending it back for refresh but it looks like a common fault, annoying though. Thanks for your views on the latest firmware/ app updates 👍

Have to pull out the drone from the bag and update 😅 btw is gimbal 90 degrees issue fixed or not? The gimbal doesn’t stay all the way down for long and just lifts up a bit while flying atleast
After the firmware update, I had a black screen signal drop about two minutes into each flight after installing a new battery that had not received the firmware. Since then I’ve had no issues now that all four batteries have been updated.
Maybe you can do a test signal when you fly further then 500 mtr. It looks like that there is a distance limitation in this firmware. This will be at the mini se.
are you using nd filters on your drone shot? its amazing.. and what software do you use on editing your video? sorry for the question.. its a great video..
Be very cautious of where you source your SD cards. Many poor quality fakes on eBay and Amazon. I now only buy from a reputable source like major high street outlets. A bit dearer but less hassle. No probs here with my 64Gb Sandisk Ultra U3 rated card.

I haven't had any issues. I did a test flight for distance. I was able to go 200km farther that what I could before in the same area I've flown many times before. If anything, this update has made my signal way better!
Its dropped on android on Saturday.while i haven't flown i have noticed my huwai tablet that was suffering some lag has improved dramatically. My mavic and phantom 3 fly great on the tablet but the fly app was causing issues so used my phone
So charging and flying with a iphone has no support anymore. Only on a Android phone do you get the option to charge and fly. Sounds like a thing that apple wont budge unless they get money out of the deal.
I thought the iphone connection now charges automatically, no longer having to be selected 'on' in the menu. I'm worried now! Can someone confirm which is correct, does an iphone charge when connected to the app. or not?

Hi Darren, thanks very much for all your videos - they are a constant source of useful information for us Mini 2 users. I know you don't have an Android phone but was wondering if anyone has this 1.4.4 version of the Android installation files? I upgraded to 1.4.8 just before a holiday to the Lake District a few weeks ago. Unfortunately on my Samsung S9 it's un-useable and the app keeps just going to black screen. The only way to get control back is to totally power off the phone and reboot. But, then a few mins later it does the same again. I've uninstalled the app and downloaded the files again from DJI, but the same issue remains. I only manged to use the drone for about 12 mins the whole time I was away as it's just totally unreliable. This is very frustrating and was hoping a fix would have been out by now? But, if I could reinstall 1.4.4. at least it is useable. I can't seem to find any previous versions from the DJI downloads page? Any ideas? Thanks, Tim.

Your not understanding the issue..... the issue is that the smart controller view is laggy and unsafe. You keep showing the view of the camera view. Do a recording only off the screen from the smart controller it is very evident that its laggy from the smart screen screen.
I was able to get over a km away from my house yesterday, flying at about 100 m, before I'd start to notice any signal loss after the update yesterday. Seems like they're doing better!
@@stafvh5783 I don't see what you're trying to get at. If you're supposed to fly withing eyesight anyways, why would you care how far it goes? 1 km is pretty damn good inside a city neighborhood. I'm sure you can go much further standing on a Vista overlook out in the forest.
@@Tiwtin again, agreed, but commercials are misleading, and the farther they claim you can fly without signal loss, the more reliable the drone is in not so favorable conditions.It's the contradictory reports from users that makes it difficult to make a purchase decision.
I returned the Mini 2 that I purchased because the DJI Fly app was not compatible with my phone and I wasn't going to go out and buy another phone just to fly a drone. DJI needs to make their apps compatible with ALL phones.
So the gimbal horizon is skewed, and I still can't charge my iPad air with the remote. It consistently blows my mind that a multi million dollar company, that is the leader in their area, cannot get their s**t together, and program a proper app. Their drones and hardware are great, but it's WAY past time for DJI to throw some of their millions of dollars that they rake in with both hands, at their app team.
If Apple still keep dropping firmware gaffs then don’t expect DJI to pull it off either. Besides, if all those little coding geeks nail it first time around, they’re kinda out of a job. Just saying coding geeks 🙄.
The iPad not charging is a hardware issue and cannot be fixed. But yeah I’m still complaining about the horizon issue but got used to it since the Phantom 3 Standard had worse gimbal accuracy.
You're claiming how great the connection is and how there's no drop out but you're only three hundred yards away that's nothing when it's supposed to have a 6 km range
my cell phone is still charging with this version 1.4.4 android mini 2 I changed to a zino pro 2 and I no longer have a problem, charging, no nfz, I have osbtacle sensors, the drone was with the opton I really do not regret my purchase I can fly without internet as he does not have permission to ask anyone to fly and 8 km with alientech duo 2 ,,,, I am in heaven
All of the latest updates just gave me a better Mini 2. So pleased with it!

I’m with you. Had an issue on first launching that it was in FPV mode so thought is was messed up but switched it over and it was beautiful

I’d you have another problem ; try delete the app, re download delete and cache on the app and try again buddy

Will 1.4.4 fix the Galaxy S21 freezing when recording 4K25P & 4k30p? They fixed it in 1.4.0 then it was broken again in 1.4.2

@@DMProductions This is a serious flaw, as well as the gimbal tilt...seriously, are they bumping into the limitations of the 249g equipment?

Your not understanding the issue..... the issue is that the smart controller view is laggy and unsafe. You keep showing the view of the camera view. Do a recording only off the screen from the smart controller it is very evident that its laggy from the smart screen screen.

I was able to get over a km away from my house yesterday, flying at about 100 m, before I'd start to notice any signal loss after the update yesterday.
Seems like they're doing better!
It'ts far from 6km anyhow....unreliable commercials!
@@stafvh5783 6 km of uninterrupted signal. I wouldn't expect for it to handle all the wifi signals in the area.

@@stafvh5783 I don't see what you're trying to get at. If you're supposed to fly withing eyesight anyways, why would you care how far it goes? 1 km is pretty damn good inside a city neighborhood. I'm sure you can go much further standing on a Vista overlook out in the forest.
@@Tiwtin again, agreed, but commercials are misleading, and the farther they claim you can fly without signal loss, the more reliable the drone is in not so favorable conditions.It's the contradictory reports from users that makes it difficult to make a purchase decision.

I returned the Mini 2 that I purchased because the DJI Fly app was not compatible with my phone and I wasn't going to go out and buy another phone just to fly a drone. DJI needs to make their apps compatible with ALL phones.

So the gimbal horizon is skewed, and I still can't charge my iPad air with the remote. It consistently blows my mind that a multi million dollar company, that is the leader in their area, cannot get their s**t together, and program a proper app. Their drones and hardware are great, but it's WAY past time for DJI to throw some of their millions of dollars that they rake in with both hands, at their app team.
If Apple still keep dropping firmware gaffs then don’t expect DJI to pull it off either. Besides, if all those little coding geeks nail it first time around, they’re kinda out of a job. Just saying coding geeks 🙄.
The iPad not charging is a hardware issue and cannot be fixed. But yeah I’m still complaining about the horizon issue but got used to it since the Phantom 3 Standard had worse gimbal accuracy.

Shutter sounds are distracting. Need to be much, much quieter, if used at all.
The feedback was more to do with smart controller i believe where the signal was impaired.
