    thank you so much. I found windows 3d builder to be very easy and i like that no file limit size which kept being a problem for me.

    Nice video. I am from autodesk. I am the Netfabb and Fusion 360 product manager. We discontinued the Netfabb online service so your 1st workflow will no longer use Netfabb in lychee. You can continue to use Netfabb basic 2022 for free. We also added the same mesh fixing functionality to Fusion 360 mesh tab.

      Thanks Sualp, I'm a Product Manager myself good to talk with a fellow colleague :). Thanks for the information, I will probably create a new video to update that, things change a lot in a few months. I will install the Netfabb basic 2022 to test it.

    Thank you very much for this information, one day I hope to use Netfabb as it is the ultimate .STL file repair tool.
    BUT for now sadly the "For non-commercial use" stamp means using it for my VERY commercial intentions are an issue. At least until I can afford the License price tag!!?

    Thank you very much, my friend, thanks to you, I was able to print very easily without downloading any programs.
    Note that excites me 🤗:
    By the way, you can bring a game character with fbx extension with bones to the position you want, save it as stl, correct it with 3d builder and print it, this got me even more excited.

    Thank you. Anyone know why netfabb is CLOSING holes? I have the wheel of a motorbike and netfabb is closing it, i don't know how to fix it. Please help

    • @HobbyistLife
      @HobbyistLife  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, sometimes it does that, probably there are some option that honestly I don't know, the tool is very complex, I only use the default stuff. You can try to fix it on 3dbuilder or even other slicers like prusa slicer. Some people uses meshmixer too.

    • @Anvilshock
      @Anvilshock 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is clearly a user error. If the model has holes, an application designed and tasked to close holes will of course try to close holes. Duh. If you don't want certain passages not closed, make sure they are not holes as recognised by the application, or if those holes are recognised by the application, close them with different tools in the application first before blindly hammering the Autorepair button. An application cannot "guess", it can only follow algorithms, so it is yours, the user's, responsibility to make sure those algorithms are steered the right way to achieve the desired effect.

    I'm new to 3d printing. I have used meshmixer to repair one of my files but it added pixels that are very noticeable on the model. Does this program add pixels to the file

    when using the 3d builder after it finishes fixing the model do u have to export it out or does it make the changes to the original file, u just kinda skipped the rest from the explanation that it could take awhile to repair a file.

    • @HobbyistLife
      @HobbyistLife  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need to save the file after repair. You can save as the same file or rename it. It's up to you. Just remember to select STL.

    Hello! Is there a tangible difference in quality of the results between 3D builder and netfabb?
    Or is it just the time?

    • @HobbyistLife
      @HobbyistLife  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Both deliver the same result, fix an STL file, but 3d builder is slower than netfabb, and netfabb even though they allow people to use it for free to fix files, we don't know if they're going to keep it forever. While they allow it, I prefer to use Netfabb.

    3D printing is wild. I underestimated the quality there is available for super cheap. I got a qidi tech shadow for $120. I got it for metal casting, and making sand punches. I’m making a alien right now in 8 different thicknesses and I’m going to pour molten aluminum in them surrounded by sand. Hopefully I can use cheap resin instead of that expensive wax/silica method.

    • @HobbyistLife
      @HobbyistLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, resin 3d printing evolved a lot in 2 years, it's just insane the level of quality you can have today with those printers. Metal casting sounds pretty cool and fun.

      @@HobbyistLife the thinnest setting failed, but the second thinnest worked. And that was the thickness of a pingpong ball. My mind is blown.
