    Hi Lydia. I suffered from the same thing you’re describing. Ultimately, it falls into the camp of an autoimmune situation. Highly recommend seeing a functional medicine doctor. Our bodies become stressed when our diets are filled with foods that are loaded with seed oils, man made sugars and various other toxic chemicals. When I learned about these ingredients in our food, I got busy getting all that out of my diet and all my symptoms (like yours) disappeared. Some TH-camrs that have helped me a lot in this journey are Dr Josh Axe (autoimmune) & Bobby Parrish takes you to the grocery store store and teaches you how to shop for healthy foods. He talks about good ingredients & bad ingredients and what they do to the body. Don’t despair - it’s a rather easy fix - just takes discipline. Ultimately - eat clean.

      Agree with your suggestions cindylowe9614. Also, Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids (PUFA"s) are destroying our health on so many levels. Cord blood taken from baby's umbilical cords after birth has shown a strong correlation between the metabolites of PUFA's to Autism severity and Omega 6 intake to ADHD. If we went back to saturated animal fats/traditional diet of early 20th centrury we may be amazed at what "normal" is for us. We also need to pay attention to eating chicken, turkey, duck and geese because they feed on high polyunsaturated grains typically and unlike ruminant animals (beef, lamb, goats, bison) they can't turn grasses into saturated fat. Egg yolks are one of the most nutritious foods, but the egg white is higher in polyunsaturated fats. There are some farms beginning to raise Low PUFA eggs, chicken. Nuts are also high in PUFA's.
      Of course organic of all foods will lessen other toxins.

    My 58 yr old sister grew up as a swimmer but is now allergic to water. She uses adult size premoistened washcloths instead of showering and stays out of pools. She washes her hair just once a week. Making these few changes improved her symptoms by 80-90%, which is miraculous.

    My niece suffered with the same thing and has it under control now after going to a Naturopathic doctor and he did blood work stool samples and urine test and found out it was being caused by food allergies and she cut out processed foods, and dairy and several other things and it helped her so much. She replaced dairy with almond milk. You may want to check into it. She use to say it felt like fire ants were eating her up.

    Lydia! I'm a silent watcher, I hardly ever comment on TH-cam videos but I wanted to after watching this video. I've seen some other comments, saying to reach out to an allergist and I 100% agree, from experience. To make a long story short, three years ago I woke up covered in hives from head to toe. No doctor could figure out what it was and I ended up advocating for myself and was able to see an allergist. I've spent the last 3 years living with chronic idiopathic urticaria, aka chronic hives from an unknown cause lasting more than 3 months. I basically tell people I'm allergic to myself because all tests are normal. It is also a super rare condition that can happen but the relief I've received from an allergist allows me to live my life as normal as possible. Fast forward to 3 years later and I have since been diagnosed with other autoimmune diseases. But I totally get waking up miserable every single day. If your treatment doesn't work, don't feel bad to look to other options/ doctors! ❤❤ prayers for relief from symptoms!

  • @smartgrandma
    @smartgrandma 19 วันที่ผ่านมา +57

    Lydia, since you have an allergy to water, why don't you go to an allergist. When I was about your age, I started breaking out in hives whenever I even stepped outside, even briefly. I started going to an allergist why helped me greatly. I am allergic to all pollens and all mold (including to mold caused by rain) except for one. I'm also allergic to cats and shedding dogs, dust, etc.... After testing weekly, he developed my allergy shots that was given to me weekly to help me build up an immunity to all I was allergic to. It helped me tremendously! Maybe an allergist can help you! I think it's worth going to an allergist for you, and I really hope you get the help you need! BTW....Ryker is absolutely adorable and he has the most contagious laugh!! 🥰 With love, prayers, and gentle hugs for you all, Donna Gulyas in Florida. 🙏🙏🙏

    My water allergy wound up being caused by our new water softener. The salt used in the water softener made me breakout. I’ve read that that the salt in water softeners are good for your skin but there are some people that have a bad reaction. They’re also bad for people with high blood pressure. Lucky for us they make water softeners that don’t use salt. We made the switch and problem solved. We have extremely hard water here in Alabama so a water softener is a must. I was diagnosed with Aquagenic Urticaria by my Dermatologist but my mom had me get a 2nd opinion because it didn’t happen when I used her water. The 2nd Dermatologist asked about the possibility of us having a water softener and that’s when we found out that was the real problem. I’m so glad that’s over with. I thought I was going crazy! >^!!^

    Hi Lydia.....I have the same issue with my skin. I have autoimmune lupus and have had the itchy skin for about 35 years (I'm 60). It is more flared when I am stressed. Also, it is worse when the body gets heated ie: hot to cold, in a pool or the ocean. I take 2 Benadryl when I go to bed so it's in my system when I shower in the morning. If I know I am going swimming or to the ocean I also take one prior and give it time, so it works. I have not found any topical that works. I have had it so bad at times that I have had to go to the ER and they give me an IV to stop it........ I sure hope you find relief for this, but if you have not yet, you should be tested for autoimmune. Best of luck......love your family......Ryker is adorable!! Karin

      I have autoimmune issues as well and have the water allergy at times. I am allergic to the sun and if I sweat it feels like I am getting bit by bugs. I am so sorry you are going through this. I have found that when it hits me (seems to bug me most during the night) I will take a double dose of my prescription NSAID ( potent Motrin type drug) because it is being caused by inflammation, and that seems to help better than anything topical docs have tried. As others have said, get your inflammation markers and an ANA run at the very least to check for other autoimmune issues.
      I'll be praying for you.

    Oh Lydia I hope you can figure out a way to get it under control and keep it at bay! I have something similar and i have patches that are red and itchy and painful also, mostly my arms and by my ankles. Same thing though - and I say the exact same thing I want to scratch my skin off ! and other times it feels more like it's on fire and stabbing me at the same time just like you said. It's terrible and then some days it's not that bad. What is hard for me is I figured out what foods triggered it and then even though I'd be fine a little while it then comes back! And then I'd have to figure what triggered it again. Our world is not the same as it was 50 years ago. There's stuff in our food and even our tap water that don't belong there. Please reconsider any pharma drugs, it's just a band aid for a condition that will never go away whether you take them or not, and those drugs are awful with long term effects. You're too young for forever pills! Go the natural way! Thinking of you ❤ ... Oh and hi Trace and Ryker!

    Lydia, I would recommend going to an allergist for testing of different foods in particular. It sounds like your immune system is overwhelmed by something that you’re eating. Or you could do a food elimination test yourself where you start eliminating one food at a time for 2 weeks and generally you start with foods that are common allergens. Gluten, dairy, nuts eggs are the most common.

    I was diagnosed with PMLE (a sun allergy) maybe 4-5 years ago after having symptoms for 7-8 years, and now I haven’t had it in 3 years! It started as a small rash on the front of my neck one spring day (exposed to the sun after being covered during the winter months). Each spring it would spread bigger on my neck (sometimes also on my arms, legs, and face), and would be so red & ugly looking, and it felt just like you described: itchy, sometimes burning crawling feeling. And once I had the start of the rash, I couldn’t go out in the sun until it had completely gone away (about 10 days). No sunscreen would work to prevent it except high SPF mineral types. And even that didn’t prevent it 100%. And nothing would help the incessant itching, not even antihistamines. Oh, and the dermatologist said there was no cure. Just prescribed me steroid cream (yay) and said if it got really bad, prednisone (double yay 🙄). Needless to say, it was super depressing to not be able to go outside and enjoy time with my hubby and kids in the sunshine, and I got pretty depressed. I knew there had to be a trigger and that if my body started doing this, then it could stop doing it as well. So I took tons of different supplements, tried GF diet for 10 months, kept a daily gratitude journal for 1 year, and saw an integrative doctor who prescribed me Candibactin for bacterial overgrowth she found on my GI map test. Anyway, I am convinced that it was a combination of STRESS/ANXIETY and poor gut health. Once I worked on those things (especially stress) it went away. The only time it came back was the next summer (middle of the summer, not beginning of spring like usual) when I was pregnant and had a very stressful thing happen. Guess what happened the next day when I went outside - yup, the rash started again. I immediately did everything I could to not freak out (I have major health anxiety), and it went away in a day or two and hasn’t come back since (over 3 years later). Sorry for the novel - just wanted to give you some encouragement that even if they say “it’s for life, and there is no cure” THERE IS ALWAYS HOPE. ❤

    My son developed cholinergic urticaria (heat hives) at 16 and has been in remission a while at 26/27, he is now 28. It can last 10 years and either disappear or go into remission and then come back, but praying it doesn’t. It’s been horrible watching him go through ‘attacks’ where he would get rashes mainly on arms, chest and back and like stinging nettle pain, and itching. He couldn’t exercise anymore as it was affected by sweat, emotion, heat of any kind, so showers or baths were painful. He couldn’t take a job working in a kitchen which is something he might have done. I’m glad you’ve had a diagnosis Lydia and hope it will disappear soon 🙏🏻💜

    Thank you for sharing with us. I know dealing with illnesses is not easy. You are not alone, and just having others reach out can be encouraging. On my channel I started because I was diagnosed with a rare auto immune illness when I was going to medical school. I now am a firm believer that if we give our body what it needs God has designed us to heal. It is not an overnight thing, but I do focus on using food as medicine and a lot of gut health.
    Another thing that may help you is to lather up with coconut oil or Vaseline before you shower or work out. It may help. Chamomile is also something that can help. Prayers and blessings to you and your family. Listen to your body and take it one day at a time. You are loved!

    Test for the MTHFR gene…MCAS…or histamine intolerance. The fact that it comes and goes could indicate a build up of histamine and then it dumps into your symptom when the tolerance level has been reached. Many people with MCAS are allergic to water. Dr Ben Lynch and his book Dirty Genes would bring a lot of insight into this. Praying for you to find answers!

    I had the same problem when I was 25 and randomly had an episode where my whole skin itches after taking a shower. For me I think it was that I was exposed to Hard water and also I slowly started to eat healthier and turned away from processed foods that have seed oils; canola oil, vegetable oil, sunflower oil, natural flavors. I also stopped eating at fast food places and that has made all the difference. Check with your doctor but your symptoms sound like a histamine overload

Lydia I get that same sensation when I take my calcium supplement every night. The burning and itching will keep me up at night and last through the next day. I've had to start taking it only once a week. Could something you eat or a supplement you might take be causing your symptoms? Praying you find the cause and start to feel better. God bless y'all.

    I'm so glad you made this video and shared your story. My older son and I have had severe itching and burning of our skin when we take showers or come into contact with water for many years. We say we're 'allergic to water', but we didn't know what the condition was called. It is so hard to live with. Covering myself in hydrocortisone cream immediately after my shower helps some. I'm so glad you got answers, and I pray so much that your dermatologist can help you manage this condition. Blessings to your family.❤

    • @greenbean8826
      @greenbean8826 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I am sorry to hear that you have to deal with this. I would be cautious of using hydrocortisone cream. It can lead to osteoporosis because it is a steroid. I have osteoporosis and it is not fun. I would look into allergy testing and see if you are allergic to something that you are eating that might be causing you to have this reaction. I would also keep a food diary and product diary. Each day write down everything that you are eating or putting on your body. Then if you have a day where your symptoms are worse or better you can see what you are doing differently.

    Prayers for you Lydia! It sounds like an autoimmune issue. I am disabled with psoriatic arthritis and behcets syndrome. I find certain seasons can exacerbate symptoms. Maybe a short course of a low dose prednisone during flares. I love my daily dose of Ryker. He is absolutely precious. All the best to you and your beautiful family 🥰❤.

    Hi Lydia,
    I guess the big question is, are you willing to try something natural and not just pharmaceutical? With some things I have fought over the years, I started using Colloidal Silver, you can do up to 7 Tablespoons a day. Don't use metal of any kind with it.
    The biting you are feeling could be parasites, I had them and that biting hurts. A good parasite cleanse really helped. Almost every human has them, they just don't know it. Good luck, hope you are willing to try different things.
    Praying for you and that you get relief. God Bless. 🙏
