How fortunate we are that you love or enjoy plants. Thank you for your excellent descriptive vocabulary as you share your knowledge. Much appreciated. Even though we may not have these plants here. It's useful to know how to describe a plants features. Cheers from Sydney Australia
I love how you give soooo much information and beautiful descriptions of all the plants. I love watching all your other vids ..Bty.. ... at times I rewatch after... before...I go foraging or just taking in the wonderful Flora and Fauna around me. Much earthy Love to you!😚❣❣
Thanks. Yes, the sedges aren`t a member of the grass group. They are related to the rush group of water plants ( maybe cattails), as in fact they will grow anywhere there is poor acidic soil that is prone to flooding. The cemetaries I manage here in PA are now being taken over by nutsedge because of the very wet conditions here in the last 4-5 years.
God, i love ADL(asiatic day lily) Ive actually planted some in my house and it's a big part of my diet, all thanks to you and this video This video is great
Where are you located Josh? I just discovered your channel and love your informational education. Need some help here in AZ with medical herbs. I've just started getting into it more heavenly. Love what God provides for us to use.
Good ID help. Into herbs/wild food, and don't want to mess up. Would like to see the nutritional profile of wild vs. some domestic food plants in the market.
Hello from Louisiana👋👋 New sub here! I moved to a home that has not had lawn care for a while, i have a plethora of wild plants. I have taken pictures of them, but Google can't directly identify them because they have so many variations. I have lots of dandelion, which I would love to forage and eat in salads or make tea from the roots. Do you have any videos on how to do this? Also, do you have a video(s) on how to clean up your lawn and which weeds and wild plants i can remove and keep?
As always great info!!! I think I just pulled out young day flower plants at my daughter's, I knew they were somehow familiar, but not flowers yet or I would have known. Chufa grass, I had a lot, but I never found tubers on them. I'm sure there are more growing hidden, need to look closer at them! I get black aphids on my lambsquarter, I let it grow once I see ladybugs and larvas, I find it keeps aphids away from my gardenplants. Also need to check what I think is white snakeroot. Always wanted to know what plant that is: smart weed 🤓
Hi Josh, thank you for another great video! I got a bit confused with the clearweed and the bugs on it. In a gardening video, the guy says to plant nettles cause they attrack the bugs from the other plants to them. I figured the bugs come to your garden anyways, and will consume your crops, but if there are nettles, or like the clearweed I learned from you now, the bugs will go there instead, so your crops will be safer. Now it kind of is like what was there first, the chicken or the egg... will it draw in more bugs, or will it help keeping your other plants safe? 🤔 Big hugs for you, you are awesome! I learn very much over you! Have a beautiful day! 🤗💖
Finally.. i have been searching for a video on clear weed. Since it is in the stinging nettle family, does that mean, they have the same medicinal values and properties of stinging nettle? I know this plant was used by native americans.
This video is made from sections of previous videos so the lighting was impossible to really fix. I thought I adjusted the volume well enough but I guess not, my bad friend.
@ Ardho1 777 First, my apologies for not responding, I don't see every comment all the time. I used to do that but it started taking up too much time because so many people were sending me pictures that I couldn't keep up. Sorry for the inconvenience, maybe I'll do something like that again in the future.
@ Inverseelity I don't always see them and other times I just don't respond for whatever reason at the time and then forget to later. Thanks to you though I saw this comment.
Yes they certainly can, I just don't see it like that a lot. I'm not sure if you guys have blue lettuce there or not but you certainly have wild lettuce and prickly lettuce there but it would probably be around lawns and fields more so than in the woods.
I sometimes do and other times don't. Main reason is a lot of the plants I've covered, not just in this video but in others as well, I plan on doing preparation videos on them which will cover that type of information. Thank you for the feedback, it is always appreciated!
Smart weed flowers are closed off its weird...it wasn't an insect inside it was a seed...they are small black and smooth like flax or sesame Also the bends in the stem is a survival tactic of this plant When you pull it out these bends break apart very easily When it lands elsewhere it will grow roots or the flowers seeds will dry and fall out easily I have this plant in my yard i believe its in bird seed
It would be more compeling and useful if you did tell us about the uses -- at least enough to give me a reason to remember the plant. If I knew why a plant was worth remembering I would be putting in more effort to remember it; and paying more attention to your videos. Please give us a basic "medicinal for...." or "edible root/leaves" etc. Give me a reason to care.

FINALLY I KNOW THE NAME OF THIS PLANT!!! CLEAR WEED ITS CALLED!!! it grows down by my creek and all over
Thanks for sharing your knowledge

Love learning about what we have growing around us...free food and medicine!!
Excellent video. I've seen all of these before and never knew what they were.
I enjoy your presentation, both in your vocal tone as well as your clear knowledge.
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Glad to be of some help!
Very helpful...thank you!
Thank you Josh! We have all these but only knew the ironweed and wild lettuce. Now that I know the names I can research further.
Very formative video
Thanks for help importance
Great video as always. It would b nice to also know if the plant is edible or medicinal and how to use it as food and medicine. Tyvm

This is good video, very interesting and informative 👍
Great video Josh! Thanks
It would be nice once you explain the plant if it is edible...
Great video, thanks!
Is the asiatic dayflower related to the wandering jew plant? it has similar flowers and leaves/stems.
They are related. The dayflower is in the genus Commelina and the wandering Jew plant is in the genus Tradescantia.

I have this creeping vine with grape like leaves and a thick green vine. The leaves are small
It would have been nice to know how to use these.

Why don't you tell us whether or not they're edible? That's the most important part!
Finally.. i have been searching for a video on clear weed. Since it is in the stinging nettle family, does that mean, they have the same medicinal values and properties of stinging nettle? I know this plant was used by native americans.
Good info, however could you turn up your volume and lighting please.
This video is made from sections of previous videos so the lighting was impossible to really fix. I thought I adjusted the volume well enough but I guess not, my bad friend.
Are the tubers of all nut sedges edible like chufa?
I have tons of dandelions growing around my yard but i notice they have fine prickly fuz on them are they safe to eat like that?
How invasive is clover crimson (trifolium incarnatum) cover crio seed organic?
I have Tiger Nuts😁
Going to dig them up in the Fall
Also have Asiatic Day Flowers and Spiderwort. I call Spiderwort : Snot Grass
9:57 what is that small plant with smooth heart shaped leaves in the bottom middle under the false nettle?
Probably Yellow Wood Sorrel. I have an identification video on it on my channel.
Is Chufa also called Nut sedge ?
Thanks 🌻
It is also called yellow nut sedge.
Is chicory forage (cichorium intybus ) vover crop seed edible? Is the pkant edible? I will be buying some from Strictly medicinal seeds company.
Informative video, I’m having trouble identifying a wild edible, do you have an email I can submit it to for identification?
Why does nobody reply to these kinda comments?
@ Ardho1 777
First, my apologies for not responding, I don't see every comment all the time.

A much different plant, dragon fruit, has a succulent, triangular shaped, with serration and thorns.
i dont know, dandelion leaves get certainly bigger than the lactuca example there, ivnt seen lactuca in pnw yet though to compare
Yes they certainly can, I just don't see it like that a lot. I'm not sure if you guys have blue lettuce there or not but you certainly have wild lettuce and prickly lettuce there but it would probably be around lawns and fields more so than in the woods.
Rushes are round, sedges have edges. Catails, well...
Just a suggestion. Provide the season to forage and edible portions. These can be valuable bits of information not typically available.
I sometimes do and other times don't. Main reason is a lot of the plants I've covered, not just in this video but in others as well, I plan on doing preparation videos on them which will cover that type of information. Thank you for the feedback, it is always appreciated!
