I lived in Shanghai for almost 8 years, I miss this city so much ❤ China is definitely an underrated country, so much history, nature, and different landscapes and types of cuisine. I think everyone should visit at least once 😊
When you visit Shanghai next time, I recommend exploring the riverside area in Pudong, near the Oriental Pearl Tower. It's a lovely spot-walk from Dongchang Road Metro Station to the riverside. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the photo opportunities are fantastic! The area is usually quiet with few tourists, and you can capture beautiful shots of the historic buildings across the river. Another excellent place to visit is the North Bund.
Well, i can't think of another mega city in the WORLD that has this much greenery in the downtown core. But actually, Hangzhou, another metropolis to the southeast of Shanghai, is even greener.
Lomdon is one of the greenest cities globally. Centre full of green space . Not sure if it’s a ‘mega city’ though. Only city in the world which is classed as an urban forest.
@@scott_howes Hangzhou is called “Heaven on Earth.” I studied there for a few years. For amazing photos, visit Leifeng Pagoda, Precious Stone Hill, and Chenghuang Temple around West Lake. Inner West Lake is quieter and offers a great experience.Check out Lingyin Temple, which is popular, and a nearby Eastern Jin Dynasty temple with beautiful views. On the way up the hill, there are two Taoist temples with stunning lake views. At the top, there’s a temple for wealth.
Thanks for showcasing Shanghai where I call home. It is a city that offers everything it never ceases to amaze me. Every time I explore I come across something new.
Really amazing work. I love Shanghai. Though I am from India- Chennai. Shanghai is special to me . Like a 2nd home to me . The people are so kind here .
I am a Chinese and I love your arts! I've been to NZ 20 years ago after I watched The lord of the rings. I highly recommend you to visit YUN NAN Province ( Kun ming, Li jiang, Da li, Shangri-la……), it's like Switzerland combined with traditional ethnic China. Or you can explore explore small Chinese towns along the Yangtze River.
Thanks so much for watching! I will add your recommendations to my list for my next visit to China. I really want to visit less popular locations next time 😬
A welcome surprise episode from China. The series brings back memories of travelling around Sichuan and Shanghai last Christmas. I agree it's such a fantastic country to visit and the people are so so friendly. Looks like you are rocking a smaller Sony body, A7C perhaps. Looks a great size for travel.
Thanks so much for watching! Yes I have been using the A7Cr recently, an incredible camera for travel. Some videos to come about the A7Cr on the channel soon
Love the infectious enthusiasm and beautiful cinematography, Scott. Really enjoyed that. You looked a lot cooler in the Shanghai Summer than I remember being! 🤣
Fantastic images, and would like to see more of Shanghai through your lens. I am afraid you have presented less than 10% of Shanghai compared to most other recent vlogger's videos. Thank you for sharing, Scott.
Scott all your videos are amazing, your incredible passion always comes through. Your videos are so informative and you keep us wanting more every time you post a video. Keep them coming x
glad china recognized your great work and hopefully you get more gigs! again some incredible shots; the guy sleeping on his scooter is classic lol. also nice to see you made use of the share bikes, a great way to get around the less busy parts of cities. btw in a city of 7000+ coffee shops, you had to go to starbucks, shame! 😂
@@ChloeChurchillHowes I did, but one time at starbucks is one time too many 😂. I always support local here in the usa 😜. tell scott to include you more, increases views 🙂
Thanks again for your support through this series, Im really glad you enjoyed the video. Haha we only went to Starbucks for the Cocktail, we have never seen that anywhere else in the world :D
Love your videos! Even though I only take photos with my smartphone, your videos still inspire me in so many ways. I think you have an eye for capturing beautiful things. BTW, I wonder if you are interested in Chinese garden which is famous for 'one step, one view'. If true, then welcome to Suzhou 苏州 in Jiangsu province which is not far away from Shanghai or Hangzhou😊. (English not that good, hope you understand)
Greener than the central city of Shanghai is Hangzhou, which is only 200 kilometers away from Shanghai and was also the city that Marco Polo visited and highly praised.
they went to a fairly fancy place for that meal. at a more 'local' joint it would be half that price or less. shanghai is also probably the most expensive city in china but at least it's more easily accessible for foreigners especially first timers in china.

I couldn't agree with you more. An incredibly special country. I miss it so much already :(

A plate of 180g eye fillet with some seasonal greens in a restaurant can cost you NZ$40ish nowadays. 😅
