Ha! As a semi-long follower of Phil, I chuckled when I searched for this obscure bass amp and found Phil right there at the top of the list, giving it a great review. 7 years later this thing is on CL and I may have to buy it :)
Love how you snuck the Pink Panther theme in there. Nice sounding amp. Thanks!
Loving the new: Phil Jones Bass Double Four 70W Bass Combo Amp. Small, portable and powerful with High-quality sound. Nice review Phillip ( as always ).
Almost all videos I see these days of PJB amps are of guys playing as if they're solo guitarists. They play a 5-string, but never hit the B. Thank you Phillip for addressing this early on in the video.
Really diggin' your channel. Yes, you need to do more bass stuff. Bass players need your kinda honesty too, my friend. Keep thumpin'!
Very cool review, thanks Philip!
I own a PJ BC 100 and it's my favorite basscombo, it's very lightweight (11 pounds), it sounds fantastic and I use it in my church with acoustic instruments (me on bass, drums, piano and two acoustic guitars). It's loud enough in our medium size church.
How on earth do you play bass, drums, piano and two acoustic guitars at the same time?!???
Great review thanks for taking the time to do it
More bass gear reviews, please. Thank you :)
Great review man, this is exactly what I was looking for 👌
sounds great! warm and clear.
Great review! Do you think you would rather use a C8 or two 4x5 cabinets? Just weighing the pro's and cons of both. What size gigs have you used this cab on?
Great question. I'm looking at a new rig. So I'm curious what the PJB amps and cabs are like. I play 2000+ seater shows and new pants flapping power.
Great review
Is it powerful enough to gig with ?
Hi, what’s the name of that tool attached to the headstock? Is that a string muter? What’s the brand name?
Is that an American Standard Fender Jazz Bass?
How is it at like a GIG and stuff?
Hi Phillip, great review! Thank you very much!
I wanted to ask you a question, since Im from Argentina and here we dont get PJ products... Do you think that this amp can work for playing in a rock band? My question is about volumen... I mean... not to play in huge venue... to play with a rock band in pubs? all the best! Franco
It will compete with a drum set and a 40 watt guitar tube amp. More than that you are pushing the limit of the clean tone on that amp. It's basically the equal to a 1x12 bass combo.
Phillip McKnight ! Thank you very much for your quick answer! In couple of month I will be on tour with a guitar/bass/drum trio... although we play jazz/fusion we have rock volumen... we are going to play mainly on pubs and I was looking for a transportable bass amp (I have an Ashdown ABM 210 combo.... very good but TOOOOOO heavy) and I got really interested in Phil Jones products since I also looking for a more Hi-Fi sound.. I though maybe this one was a good option but I was doubting about its volume.... Is so small that is difficult to believe it can handle 300 watts! All the best for you!! Franco
How much did you said?
400 i think
Cool man
how many watts
300
@@davidpeters44 I think it's 500 watts with an extension cab.
Have you checked out the Godin basses?
Lgleaton I checked them out . I’m a total fan. Iv been trying to find one
Inspector Gadget nice! LOL!
At 3:40 you talk about the weight, saying PJB claims it is 30 but feels like 50. Their website says it is 40 lbs.
I just tried on at the store. it was ok, but I don't think it would keep up with a drummer in any rock band I've ever played in. It could probably handle a tasty jazz combo though. the quality of the sound was great, but the volume was hype.
From what I understand if their stuff breaks you're SOL. You're out in the cold when it fails.
@@73YTubeDan do you mean they don't support their products well? Or do you mean it's a bit challenging because you can't just go and buy an eminence speaker if you blow one?
