Never seen the show. At first I thought you were talking about Dark Shadows. I was a fan of that show. The original 😊 This is going to be such a rich and dark room. I love it❤ Thanks for sharing !
The show is funny, but don’t worry if you haven’t seen it. The room will be fit for any vampire…I think even Dracula will be pleased when it’s finished! 🧛♀️🧛♀️🧛♀️
Hi Mandy! Yes it is creepy and the camera was not capturing the amount of real spider webs and dead spiders that were already in the room..they worked but gross! lol
I love this room for WWDITS!!!! I can't wait to really start adding more details! AWE and the Nadja wig, I'm obsessed. A part of me wants to just wear it everywhere! lol
The tassels were such a brilliant addition. I love no-sew projects. Sewing is not my thing at all. I've never heard of the show but I googled it and it's so highly rated! I'm checking it out.
I can't wait to see the finished room! LOVE What We Do in the Shadows (it's one of my favorite movies and tv shows) and your dollhouses, so it's a win for me already LOL
Im so happy to be able to create a space for my silly vampire friends! LOVE the show too obviously. Thanks for hanging out with me. Do you have a favorite character? I love them all for different reasons.
Yes I thought so! I'm going the see if it works, the top sticks out far and I'm wondering if the pictures will dangle too far into the room. It is so cool though if it does!
Older houses had lathe and plaster walls. You couldn't use nails or put any holes into the walls without them falling apart. So they used those picture rails near the ceiling and wall decorations were hung from there.
I do have a lot of ideas! I'm hoping I can get them all done. The first video of a new room are always a little snoozy to me cause you're just getting the building blocks ready for all the fun stuff!
Love the red!!! ❤ As you said, the rug and curtains are perfect for it! Can't wait to see more. I hadn't heard of the movie, but it looks very entertaining--and maybe tongue-in-cheek? The newspapers on the window, very funny! 😅
The room looks great! I never heard of "What We Do in the Shadows" but can see this room being used for vampires. You did a fantastic job with the curtains! I don't sew either so anytime I see a work around for sewing, I applaud the technique! Looking forward to future episodes as always.
I made a lot of these glued curtains for a couple another dollhouses and they receive a lot of compliments. As miniaturists, I know many snub their nose at using hot glue but I have to say, the first ones I made were over 10 years ago and they have held up well. My grandma could sew..but the talent was not passed along, lol.
Awesome idea for the curtains! I loved that. Awwww.. Tell Tiny Whitney she was missed, LOL! I have never heard of that show. At first I thought of the old show Dark Shadows. I used to love that show and didn't want to miss an episode. Barnabas was a vampire and one of the main characters. I used to study the house as it looked so cool- it was gothic, too. Great video, Whitney! Your dollhouse is wonderful. Love your channel. Keep up the good work!
Yes I loved Dark Shadows also, I feel a little of that vibe in this space too! So many great old victorian houses out there. Id love to live in a real one! Yes Tiny Whitney was slammed this week and I just couldn't get her in front of the camera. lol
It’s a funny show….it’s set up like a documentary in the same way The Office is…..except all the vampires are kinda losers, living in the present but still running around in Victorian era clothing…silly
OH that’s awesome!! I’m gonna steal 2 things from it, your details for over the doors and your curtains. The ribbon will be so cool in my steampunk Victorian. And the details over the door with some mods will go cool for s teamunk
Yes those over the door details are still available, they are made from a resin type material that you can paint! I found them at a dollhouse shop. The curtains, well you know about those, but yes for sure SteamPunk or Victorian.. you can use them for so much, Thank you for your generosity!
@WhitneyLaBrie yay! We love all the same stuff, that's why you're one of my favs. We have the same taste, and you're talented and funny to boot! Can't wait to see the coffin for this room! 🥰
@WhitneyLaBrie oh and I've never seen the show, but I loved the movie...I hope there will be some blood covered dishes in this room....I mean bisgetti sauce covered.
Oh yes 😃 sure is. I had an idea but I don't think I'm up to it to build a large doll house in my summer house . I can dream though it would be a great you tube project 😉
Wow, I really love this! This video was recommended in the FB dollhouse group Haunted, Halloween, Off the Beaten Path Dollhouses, and I just subscribed to your channel. This really inspires me to get to work on the vampire room of my witch mansion, your ideas are wonderful, and I love the curtains! Can't wait to see more of your videos.
Well thank you so much for being here! Tomorrow I have an Easter project but the next video on this room will be April 16th and Im working on a non reflective vampire mirror that I think you will love!
It's pretty funny. It's similar to The Office where they are filming the vampires like a documentary and so the vampires talk to the camera. Also the vampires are kinda like losers who aren't very good at being good vampires. comical for sure!
the movie, so silly and the show, also silly. I love this room, it really reminds me a lot of many of the castle rooms I saw in Europe. Will you be traveling there soon for any more adventures?
Yes,I’m planning on going back to London to mudlark a bit more. The month of September is the ‘totally Thames Festival’ it’s a lot of fun! Someone just sent me the most amazing tiny Victorian doll torso, the head is connected, too. I need to send you a pic of that,it’s right up your alley.
What a great idea! There are some fantastic ribbons out there and I always thought they would be good for miniatures, but I couldn’t think how. Do you have any other ideas for ribbon? Thanks!
yes, you can use them to give the look of blanket throws on chairs and in trunks, table runners, folded linen in shelving, shower curtains, runners on stair cases...so many things! Thank you for watching!
Oh boy. Had a dining room with golden yellow carpet and rich red heavy velvet drapes growing up. This was great. I was eating a bowl of ramen noodles, but I had put hot sauce in there. And the combo of the steam and the hot sauce made my nose run. But it was more than running, it was bleeding. Ugh. Watching vampire stuff while bleeding. Tried to finish eating and nose wasn't going to cooperate. So my soup was pinker than it should have been, but I can't afford to waste food.
My older sister had the Barnabus Collins Dark Shadows board game. It was a larger contraption. There were 3 pits you had to reach into as I recall. I think one had "snakes" in it. And you had to feel around to fish out some other trinket or token. It was probably rubber bands. There were glow in the dark parts too, so I think you were to play in the dark.
OMG I hope you are ok! You think it was allergy related? I know it's been nuts here where I live with the blooms and my poor husband is miserable. Hope you were able to get it to stop!
@@WhitneyLaBrie no I've always been prone to bloody noses. Mostly outgrew it. But when I have a stuffy nose, I'd get hot and sour soup to eat on purpose, because the heat and spiciness would unclog my nose . I'm fine
This I believe is hand made….and I think they had intentions on building a back side also since they had cut door holes. Sometimes I think it was made by putting three cabinets together.

Yes! I have so many things I want to add to this room that I can hardly sleep!
How fortunate to have the existing wallpaper and chandelier to begin the room. Clever hack on the draperies using ribbon.
Yea that room was so perfect the way it was! I very grateful for the previous owner! ♥️♥️
Ohhhhhh I can’t wait to see the rest. It’s fabulously creepy feeling already lol

@@WhitneyLaBrie sometimes they hung things from wide ribbons. Dollhouse scale can be more difficult though.
