Damn I miss these Demo Derby's more than anything else aa i used to live in the area. I knew quite a few guys who participated in them, Namely Ostroms auto parts. Miss the people and the fairgrounds a lot. I was Outback auto until I had a major accident back in 2004. Thanks tons for bringing back many happy memories 😂😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

I want to see an all-Toyota Camry demo derby. There are millions of those ugly things out there. Watching a bunch of Camrys crashing into each other would bring a smile 😊to my face and joy to my heart ❤!

Boring!! Looks more like a car cotillion dance. Definitely not how we did it in the 80's. Our track was The whole front straightaway of a 1/4 mile track at intermission no mud just traction. But I guess times have changed balls have gotten smaller and liability insurance runs the show.

900 + hp , but a junk transmission. A 225 slant 6 would have been good enough for this track.

I agree that a 900 hp sprint car engine is overkill, but if you really think you could move these cars around well with a slant 6, you either built a superb slant 6 or you suffer from flapping excrement from your mouth/finger tips, not to mention being too chickensh*t to prove it.
And what do you know about transmissions? His biggest problem with that setup is snapping axles.

To the guy that recorded this video saying a derby car has over 900 hp is full of sh**. I call b.s. there is no way it that much...maybe more like 600
They put a Nascar engine in the car bud. The announcers said it. He ran the same engine last year. 916hp in the car.

I'd say it's a decent 383, maybe pushing 500hp, but no way is it 900hp. Besides mr NASCAR got pushed against the wall so it don't matter.

The announcers, the driver, other people in the crowd all said he has exactly 916hp. There's nothing else I can prove. Oh yeah he also got the engine from a old Nascar vehicle. So just accept the fact that it does and you get to watch this video.
@@TheDylanDrury Big blocks dont scream like that, if it was an old nascar motor it would be an R5 (block) with P7 or P8 heads. If it was just a dodge sprint car motor, it would be a 340 based R3 (block) with a W8 style head on it. If someone can get a picture I'll know which one it is

Yea I love a good derby, but the relic, muscle car and imperial heats always pull on the heart strings a bit! Most of these cars looked solid and straight. It’s gonna be a sad day when all we have left to restore are Honda Ridglines and Toyota Prius’s😢
a fresh coat of paint can hide a lot of imperfections.
We love wrecking them and most of us also restore cars at the same time. Sacrifice some to save others.
