  • María Berrío, a Colombian-born visual artist working in Brooklyn, New York discusses her beautifully crafted large-scale collage works from layers of Japanese paper painted in with watercolor. Berrío’s work represents cross-cultural connections, women and femininity, the human relationship with nature, and global migration seen through own history.
The Conversations with Artists series began in 1985 to highlight distinguished contemporary artists whose work is featured in exhibitions at the National Gallery of Art.
