Great build....I had a 400N brand new in 1982...Great little bike so underrated..fun easy to ride..fitted a piper exhaust to it and what a sound.. try this one...a Honda CB500T..1975/78...180° crank and odd canterlever valve lifters with DOHC... Had one of those too...always considered it would make a good street tracker..
Just a quick note... I have just sold the bike... and to be honest I got no where near what I thought I would.. I took a bit of a kick in the nuts to be fair.... apparently it might have been too personally customised.. had over 1800 views and 95 watchers.. yet only 2 or 3 bids... and in my opinion... it went soooooo cheaply.. but hay ho.. I needed to sell it to help fund the next project.. stay tuned for that one... I guarantee no one has seen a transformation like it...
Lovely build. Shame the video was spoiled by that soundtrack over the top of the bike starting & 1st test, would have been much nicer to hear the soundtrack of the bikes lovely raspy exhaust.
Sweet. How is it running with the K&N s . Doing a superdream myself with a 450 motor with foam pod filters. People advising to add a 3 inch tube in between filter and carb to get the CV carbs working properly. This is the first 4 stroke I've done so advice is everything only if it's good.
Hi, They are not K&Ns, they are generic cone filters, I had the carbs re jetted and sorted by John Harris... (Joey Dunlop bike builder). So he knows Hondas. Im not really mechanically minded...my friend who help me build it was the technical person...
Hay man could do you have a build thread anywhere I’d love to know what rear shocks you used and how you mounted them as I still have the stock ones on my 400n
there are a couple of different paints used.. metallic gold over a black base to get the marble effect then about 5 coats of candy gold sprayed over the lot... the depth is created with an airbrush and a Honda stencil
vmaxcec thank you very much for telling me, you'd be surprised how many people who make projects like this refuse to tell anybody what they've used or how they did it. I appreciate it very much and that you've earned a subscriber. keep up the great work
It was running very lean and had to keep the choke on... luckily I live near John Harris (Joey Dunlop bike builder) top Honda guy... he took it for a week.... re jetted the carbs and did summit with the diaphragm, I think. It runs sweet now... idles a little higher but really sweet... a tuning place will be able to do the rejetting etc for you... hope this helps
Have you started it yet?? looks like a good un... On the forum I done a few pages for my build honda-superdream.co.uk/thread/7851/flat-tracker-project.. if anything on there helps
Being a purest of antiques to include guns and bikes I have got to spout off about you young folks and Pagan Gods worshiped and the destruction of Classics There done that...Friggin AWESOME chop man if I do decide at a later date to get another to cut I hope it turns out as well.
I did notice that your running awful lean. putting pod filters on these CBS is it risky endeavor. from the factory these bikes run lean and if it's anything like the 1980 cb400 I have, then the Jets and the carbs are fixed and cannot be altered so you are left with an excessively lean running motorcycle which I'm sure you know is not a good thing. best of luck
Dominic White when the bike was completely finished, it was taken to John Harris who built Joey Dunlops bikes, so he knows his way around a Honda, he did re jetted the carbs and balanced them for those pod filters, it runs fine just tick over is slightly higher. Thanks for your concern 😁

The only good point about the S'dreams were that they were quite nice looking bikes. You spent all that time and £ depriving one of its one asset!
Remove music in the end we want hear the exhaust
Nice to see the before and after. I think my favorite part on the bike is the Honda logo. You did an awesome job creating depth.
Great paint job ! nice overall design work. I'd be proud to ride it.
incredible job,,well done,,the paintjob is spectacular
Diego - BRASIL, it's the most beautiful touch, I've ever seen!
Something to be proud of.
Such great craftsmanship! Fantastic!
Lol at the epic music. Awesome job on the bike. I've got a '80 CM400T I'm going to be turning into a similar tracker during the winter. Cheers!

That would be a great bike for filtering man
did you just use eye-eye shocks and bolt them on the outside of the frame?
Looks totally awesome great job
Can CB250N be converted to CB400N engine wise? Would the lower half engine of 250N be compatible with 400N upper half?

Nice Job! What size tires did you used?
How were the foot pegs mounted? Was it the original piece just trimmed down to a minimum?
Hermosa hermosa.... felicitaciones un saludo desde colombia
Good job !
Hey I had a question how did u get the seat mounted to the frame and stuff was it just a kit u bought online?
what is the air filter you using?
Hay man could do you have a build thread anywhere I’d love to know what rear shocks you used and how you mounted them as I still have the stock ones on my 400n
Greg Player they are nifty shocks from eBay, they fitted straight on
vmaxcec but the shock mounting is different they look like they have eye mounts where as mine has the split fork style
are the rims painted oder powder coated?
Nice !
What type and tire sizes did u manage to fit to the standard rims bud? Cheers great job
I used the recommended size tyres 100/90 19 on the front and 4.10 18 60 on the rear... thanks for the kind words
I wanted to hear the engine sound, bad music...🙉
oh, and those tires are sick mate! what are they?
Continental contiescape
Hi wot size jets did you use for it to run probly with the pod filters on
Bryn Bull I don't know, I took it to local bike mechanic who did it, sorry
I have a 79 cm 400 a do u want to build me a tracker??
please tell me what kind of gold paint you used, and how you created depth, cus I want to do something like this with my car

Was it easy sorting the original carbs with pod filters and a straight through exhaust? Having a bit of trouble with my 78 superdream and that setup.
I did reply buts disappeared now lol... join this forum honda-superdream.co.uk... lots of help and advice
haha I'm apart of that forum just hard to find exactly what i'm looking for! no worries mate cheers

@@vmaxcec what did he do to your carbs ? I have a cb400n and it wont run nice with the pod filters on, so what was your set up ?
what kind of paint did you use for the primer and base?
I used Upol 15 high build primer and a matt black rattle can base
any leads for a 79 cb400t stator coil?
Is that just the normal coil? if so... I got one from ebay, extra long leads cos ive put mine under the tank

Its a generic XR style flat tracker unit from ebay.. the undertray was fabricated by a mate and myself
poor cb 400n, it was so perfect before. another byke died. RIP

Cant even hear the damn thing over the music lol
La caga la música la onda es escuchar como suena..
Never, EVER do a bratbike conversion only to put it on ebay. Guaranteed way to lose a shitload of money.
Bestia cuadrupeda cuando prueba la moto uud debe quitar la horrible música de superhéroes q le ha puesto al vídeo 🤷🤷🤷
Ruined.
Lol,
