      The break free you have in your Amazon store is just LP and not CLP. I didn't notice it and just click on it and bought it, didn't notice the mistake until it had shipped and they're charging me a total of about 5 bucks to return it to them. Please put the correct product in there so hopefully no one else is a dumb as me and doesn't pay attention to it before ordering. Love the channel man. Learning so much from you. Thanks good sir.

    I actually love this design, I have the satin and find my hand going for it often.

      I feel the same way. I’m about to purchase the satin version with black G10. I just love the look. I’ve been wanting a smaller , discreet knife and this one seems to fit the bill.

    I got a Civivi Bullmastiff micarta on Amazon a few weeks ago, just for the novelty of the size really. I was quite surprised at the quality of it. It was razor sharp too. I'll definitely be ordering more Civivi knives.

    That's odd. My satin-finish G10 scaled Banneret was about $50 on Amazon.

    I just today received a restock notification for this knifea and gave it another lookover. Came to the same conclusion and decided not to pull the trigger on it. Maybe I'm getting a little pickier with my buying choices. Oh and it's $128CAD so yeah there's much more appealing knives in that price range IMHO.

    To be honest, Civivi has been pretty terrible for me. I've ordered three Civivi knives recently that all had to be returned for various reasons. My Ortis had a detent like they had cemented the knife into the closed position, the Odium I ordered came with a very loose pocket clip that could not be tightened and my Lazar was simply not sharpened on one side of the blade. That's what I expect at $20, not $75. I'll be avoiding all Civivi knives from here on out, though I still enjoy seeing videos on them.

      Sounds like those are all "you" problems. There's thousands of people who have purchased several civivis, myself included, and not one I have falls short of quality, yet alone 3/3.
      "Knife seems cemented in lock position" The Ortis is a linerlock, with thin steel liners, and a ceramic detent ball. No way does a grown man not be able to consistently open that knife with either the hole or flippers tab because of too much "liner lock" pressure. Maybe with a frame lock, yet still not likely. A stiff detent is usually necessary for crisp deployment. Breaking in period is pretty common as well.
      "Odium with loose pocket clip that wouldn't tighten". I own two Odiums, and I can tell you that there is no design flaw that could possibly even cause a loose clip where tightening didn't correct it. Like what did the screws do when you attempted to tighten, just keep spinning? Highly doubt that un-tapped pocket clip screw holes would happen.
      "Lazar was not sharpened on one side of knife". Again, that doesn't even make sense. Civivi knives are V ground, so unless the Lazar was a chisel (it isn't) and you were mistakenly unaware, then this isn't even possible. Unless you mean that you received it with no grind bevel on one side of the knife, which makes even less sense and no way would Civivi/We allow that to be sold. So pleased make it make sense. I'm not trying to be a dick, far from it, however I am trying to understand how you have 3 really weird/non likely faulty occurrences with 3 different knives, from a brand that strides themselves, and are known for quality products.

    i appreciate the minimal branding but yeah, it's a pretty "safe" design for its purpose. though, if you can make a boring design look cool again, then maybe kudos. i also hate the holes. haha

    • @jeremiahshine
      @jeremiahshine ปีที่แล้ว

      What's its "purpose"? I'm a newbie to folders coming from the fixed side of the industry. One thing I notice is the "Folders" channels tend to focus on craftsmanship and tech specs as opposed to blade design/profile and the "intended" task of the design. Of course, stabby slicy suffices, I'm just thinking of the youngsters who don't know why blades have their shapes because they were designed for certain tasks.

    • @windowbreezes
      @windowbreezes ปีที่แล้ว

      i was replying to what MC said about its purpose; a basic front flipper, i guess?

    • @jeremiahshine
      @jeremiahshine ปีที่แล้ว

      This one is a Kephart.

    • @jeremiahshine
      @jeremiahshine ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@windowbreezes Granted, the folder can't take some of the tougher tasks.
      Things like "drilling with the tip" and skinning is easier with a Kephart than a Wharncliffe, for example.
      Making notches, carving, whittling, etc... some profiles are better than others, for example.

    I would like to see Civivi tart up some of their knives, anodized titanium and up graded blade steel. Not a fan of the distressed look though like so much of WE's line.

    Do you disclose if the manufacturer pays you to “review” their knife?

    • @GenericAssUsername
      @GenericAssUsername ปีที่แล้ว +11

      They don't pay for reviews. Some will let him keep the knives, and he'll usually give them away during live streams unless he likes it too much to part with. The real 'payment' is that he gets more content, which means more ad revenue and people using the affiliate links to buy the knives featured in the video.

    They increased way too much on the price. Stick with 14C and sell it at 50 bucks.
    Otherwise, DLC only changes the reading from an HRC tester, the actual hardness of the steel is not impacted by putting a DLC on it
