I stopped by Sumac Creek today for 20 minutes on the way to pick up the kids from school and caught 3 green sunfish on a rooster tail.
The fish say “wwweeeeeeeeeeeee”!!!!! When you throw them back in the water

In 2021 I dug a pond in my backyard for the dirt. Dumped dirt where my house was going to be. Six months later I'm fishing in my pond. Been fishing in it ever since. Only fish green sunfish and catfish (of course). Never put a single fish in it. They just showed up. Wife has the record 9.5".
At the mercy of mother nature for water. This past summer was the worst, completely DRY. Nothing but a dry hole. Have received rain the last few weeks. About 8 to 10 inches now. Hope to ne fishing by mid late summer.

In the town I live greens are the only sunfish (not including bass) that swim here. I live north of the bluegill and pumpkinseed distribution. At least the pond I catch greens is a 5 minute walk from my house. Nice variety in this video, I love it!

I've been slaying the smallies and rock bass at Dry Fork Creek for the last week and a half. Caught some bluegills and redear early this week. Once the temperature goes back up this Sunday I'll be back at it.

John you ought get you one of those cheap air aireaters at Walmart and keep some of those big shiners. Man everything in the bigger creeks and rivers just can't resist them and I'm talking big cats, big stripers , big bass, both large mouths and spots
I've used superworms fishing for bullhead catfish and sunfish. Works like a charm!
If you want to continue using those superworms, you can get those in a can at Cabelas/Bass Pro Shops, or at any pet store as well.

U may not see this but I have a green sunfish stocked pond. They bite all year round. Most fish are a little lethargic in summer but it was early August and caught 47 in about 2 hour.

Are there any places you go that someone who cannot walk very well could access to fish? I've been unable to fish much because I have to use crutches but if a place is easily accessible where I could put up a folding chair then maybe I can get back to something I love.
They were definitely active how long was those worms in the can before you opened them I have never seen them before. The sunfish are active in the conasuga now caught several last week at the bridge

You know of any good trout spots in middle Tennessee. I haven’t found a good spot since I’ve lived here. I’m from north Georgia and trout fished there all the time. Grew up trout fishing.
