My aunt who taught me everything I know about astrology calls them “horrorscopes.” She taught me to read my Rising Sign also and give it more importance. It depends on who's making your sun sign reading. Because some can sort of make a great calculation in a way that your rising sign ends up coinciding with the one the reader saw in the chart reading even a general reading but It has to be a mathematical astrologer very professional and born in it. Like those from Haiti, "example"
The triggering point is that those who really know about astrology can see I'm a "Leo Sun" in 2 seconds. And so can I do quite the same. And mostly I can guess their sun sign according to the trajectory of their lives and how they made it up to find out the solution. I mean I don't watch their behavior itself. But their guidelines ✨

The rising sign is no more a mask than the sun sign. The rising sign is based on a person's time of birth. That's a lot more personal than basing someone's sign by just knowing their date of birth. So, it makes sense that it would be more of an accurate interpretation of who you are as a person. Your rising sign is clearly the most important part of your natal chart.

I heard about how you should read horoscopes based on your Ascendant a couple months back and my first thought was "oh crap, I've been reading my horoscope wrong!" ...only to remember my Sun and rising signs are the same. I feel like daily horoscopes may be overrated and understanding your birth chart is what's important so you can read your horoscope correctly.

That actually makes a lot of sense being that I resonate with a lot of my rising aspects rather than my sun, like my sun is in cancer but my rising is in Taurus, so a lot of the time I really connect with Taurus traits
My entire life I have wondered why I feel extremely drawn to Aquarius and THAts because it’s my LEGIT RISING and we were never taught that traditionally your rising is extremely important and if I remember learning recently, a long long longg time ago when people asked you what your sign is they meant rising which makes sense if that’s the constellation that was over the Eastern Hemisphere at your time of birth / first breath!

I always use this analogy... your planets are the cards you’ve been dealt... your rising is how you go about playing them.

My Sag ascendant readings resonate more often than my Aqua sun/moon readings.

yes because transits don't relate to what you resonate with they are always based off of rising sign for technical reasons

My Sun sign Scorpio, never yields results when I read my yearly forecasts. Now that I only pay attention to my rising sign, it is far more accurate.
