This song actually says a lot but the beat is so upbeat that it almost overshadows the pretty dark message this song has to offer
"and when them expectations raising because daddy was a poet right? talk all you want I'm taking no advice."
This was the hardest song on the album
2013 was a great year for OF
This beat is too dope
The Rev X sample is golden.
This beat doesn’t sound upbeat or happy to me at all. imo it sounds really frantic and stressed out, especially those first few seconds of the song. It fits the mood of the lyrics perfectly to my ears. It’s like the beat is becoming overloaded and can’t deal with all the emotion and personal problems Earl is trying to put into the song. Everytime those drums speed up and you hear the “cut that bitch off” sample, it sounds like the beat is short-circuiting and freaking out...but it centers itself every time and keeps trying to do its job, so it can keep up with everything Earl wants to express in the song. This is my favorite Earl Sweatshirt song by far.
I feel like I'm flying and falling when I hear this song.
Seeing him do this song live is fuckin awesome
Typical Pharrell 4 count beat
I love how he just snaps at
This album was my best friend during the darkest times in my life

My favorite Earl song by far. The beat along with the lyrics is too good. A dark but hype song at the same time. Has me floating every single time it plays. The atmosphere perfectly embodies that feeling of “ur still here, don’t give up now”. It really motivates me, especially what he says at the beginning. No matter how u feel, at the end of the day the world doesn’t care, so u gotta keep pushing through. That’s what this song is doing. Getting me through some tough times even if it’s all in my mental
this will forever be my favorite song by earl
The neptunes never miss…EVER
The Neptunes produced this,, no wonder why I’m thinking this is the best song on the album
