I know it must get a little redundant for you to do chippy-choppy but I could watch you do this ALL DAY LONG! And this is a really pretty one! Really interesting-the difference in the translucency between Pardo and Premo! I bought some Pardo trans recently and haven't given it a try yet-this may be the time! Thanks for the video and all you do for us, Deb!!
I love your tutorials! You are the reason I’ve started “playing with clay”. I stumbled across one of your videos and I was hooked. Thank you for doing these tutorials. I love my new hobby!
I find that like you sometimes it is good to get the rant out in the open and off my chest. Like you, NO ONE can tell me what or where to shop. There are several companies that I do not like because of the background music so I now wear earbuds and listen to what kind of music that I like and try to put it out of my head, finish shopping, pay, and get out. Blessings.
Love all your techniques! Please continue showing them as every combination turns out differently, I think repetition of techniques only teaches us more. Keep up the fabulous work. I could watch you all day long! You are a true delight! Thank you for sharing.
Very nice tutorial Deb. I find it amusing that I keep seeing your term chippy choppy from other artists doing the same technique. That term has really caught on 😊.
That’s a shame. Hey, I’m coming to England in a few weeks. If you would like, I can order what you want, and mail it from England. Message me on Facebook!
@@clayboutique I know, but I'm so impatient!! I've made some "ok" pieces but not as classy looking as yours. How long have you been making polymer clay jewellery, if you don't mind me? (I found polymer about 6 months ago).
Eight years! It’s worth,it to take your time, especially with sanding and buffing. That’s what makes the difference between an ok piece, and a good looking piece.nits all about the finish.
Hi Deb!! What beautiful pendants!! I love both, they are very rich in color and literally could go with any color clothing and can be dressed up or down. Thank you so much for sharing 🤗
I can't decide which translucent I like better. You see more lavender with the Premo one but the Pardo one is also beautiful. You are a fantabulous teacher! ❤️ I look forward to your tutorials. I get excited when I see a new one pop up. 🥳🎉
Yeah, I like that more lavender is showing in the Premo, but that might be because I put more in. I also like how the yellow of Premo kind of adds to the stone look. Thank you 💕
I did this one today!!! Heart shaped for a keyring!!! I also made a ring ❤️ I love these and thank you for your tutorials. I really enjoy watching them and switching out colors to see what I can do different!!! I’m going to resin mine for extra strength but the buffed ones you do are beautiful!!! 🥰
Oh my gosh, that is gorgeous! Thank you so much for sharing this. I love watching and learn from your videos. 😊 plus I get a kick out of your sense of humor.
Hi Deb, this is SO pretty and I love the colours. Thank you for sharing. I hope your fingers are okay now - it looks like your cuts have healed, thankfully. Have a superb weekend - it's 1.30am here in Blighty, Saturday morning - had to watch you before going to catch some zzzzz's!!! Take care, xx
Truly stunning - just wonderful. I love faux stones - collected rocks as a little girl. But to think that one day I would see an artist create the look of rocks/stones I’ve never seen outside my collection on Pinterest, could never have occurred to me before investigating polymer clay. Your work, by far, exceeds anything I’ve had the pleasure to watch. You consistently create new looks while using the same method - your “chippy choppy”. I still can’t get over the difference of the look of pre-bake then baked - usually. I am pretty certain, once I start my own journey, that this part will take me the longest. You are so efficient and make the process look so easy. Right. It can’t be!! (Laughing to (at) myself! This cutter is another favorite. It wasn’t always, but it sure is now. It’s no small wonder that those in your group wanted you to do a tutorial on this. That light you have for checking translucency rocks. It totally made a difference when you put it on its side. I had no idea Pardo was that good. Like you, I preferred the chunks of the Premo pendant. Sorry about your hands! Thank you so much for your excellent and amazing creativity and i still have to add, for sharing it with us for free. I have no clue how you do it, but am so grateful you do! Have a lovely day!🥰🤗
I'm loving your videos and I am actually learning more and more of some of your techniques. Would you do another "chippy Choppy" video? I'm doing one on my own and so far so good. Thanks for your time and tutoring.
I love Pardo translucent but I have trouble with scaling even though I make sure there are no bubbles. Even the most invisible bubble turns into a horrible white spot. The colour and transparency are wonderful though, so I'm not giving up yet!
Plaquing, also known as mooning, is a pattern of little pockets of air that develop inside of some brands of polymer clay as it cures. All brands and colors of clay will do this. It is a quite predictable pattern of approximately 1/8″ “moons” that show up. Really only visible in translucent clay, plaques don’t seem to be caused by air pockets trapped in the clay during careless conditioning. Rather they seem to be due to gases forming during baking and thicker pieces suffer more. Plaques can be used to great advantage when making faux stones such as jade or opal. Plaques can be difficult to prevent, but can be somewhat minimized if you bake in such a way that your project warms very slowly. Start in a cold oven and make sure to cover the item well, perhaps even insulating in corn starch or under a lid.
Love it 😍 once again the chippy choppy rules can’t get enough of this technique so easy to go to if I feel ugh don’t know what to do and want a quick fix keep em coming Deb …. glad to see the cuts have healed but you still haven’t put some tape on the blunt end of the blade lol 😂 hubby will be going mad with you haga x
Right! Chippy choppy is my go to, too! I know…I’m naughty. I’ll get around to it at some point. Today might be the day, as I need to reorganize and clean my craft area. One of these days, I might turn the camera to show you the mess I make 🤣
Love what you do. I find myself gravitating back to you all the time. I don't see any of your new videos listed and I'm afraid I'm missing some good stuff. Where should I go to get your most current ones?
When you go to a channel, they only show a few vids. So, if you look at the top of the page where the profile pic is, you should see where it says ‘videos.’ Click on that and it will bring them all up. Mine are in order of newest first.
Another great video😀. Could watch you all day! I bought a buffing wheel a couple of weeks ago and it came with a grinding wheel. Does a great job in smoothing any rough edges but I do try to smooth everything before baking. Have used uv resin, buffing and gloss glaze for finishing. Like them all and gives you choices. AND I love your accent. I’m in the US. Have a great evening 😀
🤣🤣I’m watching you chop and thinking tsk tsk she didn’t make her clay blade guards. While this was going through my mind you too brought it up. Oh no you poor thing, you think like me 😁😁😁
Just finished watching and I had to share…my first attempt at sanding I turned the sandpaper red as I didn’t realize my finger was also being sanded until too late 🤣🤣🤣
It depends what I’m making, tbh. I do like Cernit trans, but it’s a bit soft to do things like canes. Pardo is really good for faux stones, if it it’s chippy choppy, otherwise I find it hard to condition. Premo white trans is probably my main go to, though.
Really like your videos and ideas and thanks for the links! 😉😊 you're right, don't let those types of comments get to you, like you said, to each his own! I am fairly new to polymer clay and have been thinking about buying the atlas 150 with the electric motor, do you have any words about using it instead of the hand crank? Thank you 😊.
Omgoodness how dare you shop at certain craft store because of politics. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 good gravy if some one feels this way on a store it’s their prerogative to not shop there, but to tell someone on their channel to not shop at that store. They need to get a life. Any more you shop at the places you can get it. Ok rant over, lol the “stone” is amazing, I love it. I have more fun watching you because you keep it real. Sliced fingers and all. lol we need to have your Mr on some more, definitely need his take on drilling. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Tfs all of it, hugs

Beautiful. I've purchased many items from O Joy creations over the past 2 years. I highly recommend. She also adds a free gift every order.

Every translucent can have plaquing, but it’s nothing to do with bubbles. You shouldn’t see much plaquing with this technique, though.

Hi beautiful tutorial as always. i hv to ask u were u get the tool for sanding & buffing. which brand it is ? Thnx
I sand by hand. The buffing wheel I use is no longer available, but it’s just a little bench grinder that you can add buffers to.

Question about the wax. How much do you use? And do you put it on your piece or the buffing pad ?
Please check the description for info and links to other videos.

Just a ceramic tile, like I use. Mine is a large rectangle one (as seen in the vid), Home Depot.
