Great video, great attitude to wanting to improve and great content as ever. Firstly remember your living all the rest of our dreams, just being in a position to play golf full time and try to make it to the next step is something 99% of the rest of us don’t get the opportunity to do, so reflecting on that gratitude might help limit some of the pressure. The other thing I would really encourage you to do is to try different shots in different situations to help you find the right shot to play. The par 3 6th, straight into playing 224 from 188, you chose to hit a knocked down 6 that you know you must hit hard, increasing the spin which means that any movement on that ball was going to get hammered by the wind. Wasn’t a bad swing at all, just the wrong shot at the wrong time. Take the opportunity to try something else, hit a chippy 4 and see what happens. You swing it better than lots of players that score better than you, its just about managing your game. Just my 2 penny but genuinely hope you succeed and enjoy the process.
My notes from today's video: 1. Love this type of content, very honest and real 2. Golf is a really tough sport, don't be too hard on yourself 3. You miss a lot of approach shots short 4. Love the mental approach, "your next shot should be your best shot" as the book goes 5. Talk therapy will defo help 6. Look up micro dosing Keep 'em coming, looking forward to your 2025 journey!
Stop trying to hit it to the moon! No one cares. You play well when your tempo is on! “Knock down 6!” More like knock down into the water. Should have just hit a normal 6 just to see where it would go. You hit the ball pretty straight with all the irons and putting is pretty sharp. Find a happy place with the tee shots you’ll be good.
Ben, I appreciate your honesty and willing to do whatever it takes to achieve your goals. I'm convinced that you have the abilities, you just need to figure out how to get the most out of them on a consistent basis. Keep doing what you're doing and you'll be seeing those better results around the corner!
Thanks for sharing this video. It goes to show it takes more than having a great swing to become a Pro golfer., or to get on the PGA, then you have to continue to play very good to keep your card. It’s like a ONE MAN ARMY. The reason I say that cause it’s you and your ball against the next guy and the next. It’s a steady grind. to be better than the all the guys you are playing against. It’s not about shooting a low score, it’s shooting better than all the rest of the field. My hats off to you and to everyone else that are trying to go Pro or trying to make it to the PGA. Thanks
just started getting more serious as college and football ended, normally play a little up so I don't hate myself but with my 3.7 dad had a 44 on the turn today and ended with 96. Normally I wouldn't want to play for the next month with the blow up but your videos and your mindset has taught me to always strive to be better and put things into perspective. Even with the blow up, broke 100 from the tips which is such improvement and you played a part in that with tips and mindset. Keep grinding! best way out of a slump is to just keep going, everybody has them and the best get past it! always press babyyyy
Rooting for you to figure it out, Ben. For my part, hearing about your mental approach to the game has helped me over the years. Remember to take it easy on you, excited to see what the grind has in store!
Jeez Ben, everything is relative buddy. If I had your game I would be dancing in the street. You are so much better than you give yourself credit for. Relax, play your game and realize the ground will not open up and swallow you if you miss a putt. We're rooting for you mate!
In the words of Chubbs. Find your happy place. Before stressful rounds or if things get away from you. Try grounding yourself in the moment. Find something that gives you a little asmr. Close your eyes, feel the grass, imagine yourself in a place with no stress. Focus on your breathing. Try meditation off the course. I struggle too with bad shots. My attitude was poor and I would lash out and my fiancé didn't want to golf with me anymore. I'm on the verge of breaking 80 amd her reaction to my reaction has made me rethink how I approach the game. You are capable in your dreams. Try to see it as less about your job and more about your love. Treat every round as your love. Keep it up Ben.
I love your content man. Inspired by your transparency, but even more by your drive to not give up on your big ambition! Saying some prayers for you and I truly hope you make it. Having a front row seat to that journey IS going to be awesome
Ben always loved your content man glad your still grinding and don’t let your past couple months of golf get to you like that your an amazing golfing .. Keep the confidence trust your game man
Since you’re struggling right now, why not try to break 65 from every tee and regain that confidence. every viewer knows you have the talent. love the content ben, rooting for you as a fellow kansas guy!
Ben, I hope you make it to the PGA tour, you’re hard work is unmatched, and, I don’t know which sports great said, but aim to be the hardest working person in the room. Keep at it man, and have lots of faith.
Keep up the grind! Been watching your videos since your time at good good and it's refreshing to see the difficult parts of the pro golf journey being shared. You give a lot of hope to golfers with the same dreams and goals. Wishing the best for you and hoping the success is that much sweeter when you achieve it.
Thank you for the honesty in what its like trying to make it as a pro. I went through this myself and i didn’t make it through it. Keep grinding and betting on yourself.
It’s awesome to see you care about your word and you push to be the best! You are still in the top 5% of the world and it may not be the standard you set but the drive and commitment you have will get you there with patience and trust in yourself. Keep at it brother you’re killing it.
Maybe we watch you because you hold yourself to such a high standard and play good golf. We like to see you put in work, you always work hard and we know you will get there. Keep up the good work.
I like your Chanel for your honesty, your content is very good and I think is your strong point. Golf is very hard and very mental game. I would say to keep going to tournaments even if you don’t play good because that’s a niche that I don’t see many Chanel’s cover like you do, and wile you keep improving your golf you keep growing your Chanel
More forgiving irons so you don’t have to be perfect all the time with your strike may help with the front to back dispersion but truthfully sounds like the biggest thing you need is perspective. Failure only happens when you stop trying, don’t worry about failure and put the time in to the process and the effort. Eventually you will create your own luck which is how success becomes a norm.
Keep grinding Ben - you got this. Looking forward to watching you progress and make it. I'm sure it's not easy, but it sounds like you have a plan going forward - execute it and always press! And, go Chief's! I've been a fan for 40 years since I lived there for 5 years.
Much respect Ben. Being vulnerable is ok. Golf is tough as sh*t. We are all routing for you. Love the journey and the transparency. Anything we can do we are here for you. Keep grinding !!
Love the thought process stuff. Hopefully you get some of the anxiety managed more consistently. Few things I teach clients id say could be helpful for you is learning some grounding techniques to help stay more present and shifting the thought of "I'm not anxious, I'm excited". Since they're the same feeling just a different expectation on the outcome.
Hey man hope this makes you feel better. I look forward to uploads on your channel more than any other because you're a really interesting dude and you love all the minutae of golf. That's what sets you apart is that you're willing to put in the work, and you really seem to love all the dumb little things about golf, even something as mundane as the science behind target selection. Your videos are always fun to watch, inspiring and you just seem like a really quality dude. Keep up the hard work, we'll be here watching no matter what you put out because we're here for Ben Hadden, not Ben Hadden Plays Perfect Golf.
I really appreciate your honesty, I'm in no way your skill level (8 handicap) have only played for 3 years but can relate with everything your saying, especially walking down the first tee with a heart rate of 185, I get that also and it continues for 6 holes atleast then I'm exhausted! I also put way too much pressure/ expectations on and makes me over think everything. Hard game! Hope you get all the success you deserve as you have a lot of talent! 🤜
Thank you for sharing your doubts/fears/slump with us. I'm totally confident you'll pull yourself out of it when you start thinking and reacting the way you know you can. Getting there is a grind tho, but when you do get there, the game becomes fun again... Or maybe that was the whole point to begin with??? Keep pressing!
The old left-ear-pointing check point: at impact, the left ear points in the direction of the hole. If the left-ear points way left of the hole at impact, pulls are promoted. If the left ear points high and right of the hole, pushes are promoted. If the left ear still points toward the hole during the first part of the follow through, it means the head is kept still and down throughout the impact zone.
This video actually saw some of your best swings; timing, pace, and balanced. That water ball should never have come close to the water! Center of the green was the play!
Three things: 1. What about South Carolina or Georgia? Cheaper with tons of golf courses. 2: your driver. More loft, more weight at the back, more spin. more fairways. You’re already a big hitter. Doesn’t help if you have to scramble for everything. 3. Sorry. One length irons work. They do. It doesn’t take but a few rounds to dial them.
For extreme directional accuracy like as described in the later part of Hogan's 5-Lessons book, the downswing is separated into three distinct phases: (1) the leg and hip drive, (2) the upper body, shoulders, and arms turn phase, and (3) final hand release. By "distinct phases," it is like the stick shift of a car. After shifting out from the 1st gear into the 2nd gear, the 1st gear no longer provide power, and the 1st gear just coast along. After shifting out of the 2nd gear into the 3rd gear, both the 2nd and 1st gears no longer provide power but they just coast along while the 3rd gear works to provide power. In an accuracy-promoting downswing, the 1st gear is the lower body from the feet to the hips. Once the 1st gear lower body action is completed, it is "paused" and fixed to provide a solid fairly fixed base for the remainder upper body action. By fixing this lower body base to not moving wildly, accuracy is created for the upper body turn. And so forth. This is what used to be called "hitting against a firm left side" or "hitting against a wall." It is like old time WW2 movies of moving tanks having to pause and to stop to aim and fire before moving again. It is like baseball pitchers first drop their front leg down to form a base of action before working their upper body and arms, and to finally release their hands to pitch the ball to the target. Three distinct phases can be observed, although there is a smooth blinding of the phases. Once I played with a fine golfer lean and about 6'2 who has an unusual stillness of the body while impacting the ball. Halfway through the round, he made a hole-in-one on a 190 yard somewhat uphill par-3 hole.
I've struggled with Anxiety in my career and beta blockers (prescribed by my Doctor) have been a huge help when dealing with a high pressure situation. Might be worth exploring.
Great video man. I'm pulling for you big time! Maybe try working with a sports psychologist and see if that helps the heart rate stuff? Worth trying at least imo.
This series is sick. And its got nothing to do with your results. Just someone actually putting themselves out there and really trying to achieve. No caveats or excuses, Great to watch
I am by no means as good of a golfer as you Ben but I do play in a lot of local am tourneys every summer. I used to struggle with these and never play as good as I felt like I was capable of playing. I used to feel so much pressure due to external factors like embarrassment and fear of not being good enough. Every not win was just a failure and it ruined the competitive spirit. I pitched in college and never used to feel that way on the mound. Finally, I had the realization that I need to find MY reason for competing and viewed every tournament as just another opportunity to get better. I judged myself solely on the work I put in leading up, and my mental focus and commitment. If I had a bad physical week of playing, I just went back to work and tried to clean things up. Doing it for me and me alone really alleviated a lot of the external noise. This may help or not help, but regardless just keep working and we will keep watching. Usually the lowest lows precede the highest highs in this stupid game we love!
Saying the night before/morning of a round “Please god, don’t let me embarrass myself” is how 90% of golfers prepare for a round. Don’t worry Ben. You can do it!
Hey Ben, I enjoy your content. How much do you work on your breathing? After many of your shots you let out what sounds kind of like a frustrated sigh. Are you holding your breath as you swing? I’m definitely not qualified to suggest something to someone of your ability, but weightlifters exhale as they exert effort and you might want to try breathing out steadily as you swing. Just a thought. Good luck as you chase your dreams!
In your tournaments where you underperform what is the main source of problems? That likely spirals into reduced confidence in other areas. If you focus on solving the number one problem that will feel more attainable and go a long way
Ok Ben. I really like your channel and I've watched you for a bit. I can see how much you want this. I realize I'm nobody to you. But, I promise you I can help you get to where you're trying to go. My name is Kevin Bowler. I'm the Director of Golf Instruction at the Southern Utah Golf Academy in St. George, UT. I've looked at your swing and I can absolutely help you become much, much more consistent. You're closer than you think. I can have you playing better almost immediately. I will come to you on my dime. I'm not interested in the money. Let me help. If you're skeptical... simply respond to this comment and I'll send you the video analysis of your swing. That information alone will transform your game. I'll try posting this on each video you make for a few videos. We can do this Ben!
Florida may be the toughest state in the country to play golf in. Between wind, sticky Bermuda grass, grainy putting surfaces, water and alligator land everywhere. It’s tough to go low. Your game maybe better than you think. Try a tournament somewhere else and see if you go low.
Your quality of content has skyrocketed since your slump. I think it makes things easier to invest into you. We care about your game and want to see you play well out of support... but damn, even the best of us go through this. It's relatable. I'll be here for you now as I will be when you catch a heater
Noticed you mentioned the wind a lot. A helping wind doesn't help as a much as you think. A hurting wind hurts more in relative terms. The sweet spot has a podcast episode with the Ping guys on how weather affects the ball. Good luck
Yes, action matters. A ton. But you also say you want to feel good. How you feel follows how you think. I would recommend reading “The path of no resistance” by Garrett Kramer.
Great video Ben. Been watching for a while and it was kinda hard to watch the tournament videos and seeing you struggle but this video was definitely better, a lot more positivity and a true insight on how you feel. 2025 is Ben's year 💪🏻
Strangely enough we were grouped together at the state championship in 2014 at WCC i'm like 90% sure. But on the question about the nerves on the first fairway and the passion driving you, maybe you need to investigate the passion. Sometimes passion is good, making us get out of bed and start the day. Sometimes it can drive us up a wall and cause us to question every movement. Passion has brought you this far and it was nice to have in the back of your mind during grind sessions, but maybe you need something more tangible in the back of your mind now to help you ground yourself in tournaments. As Tiger did, developing a pre-shot routine that you could do with your eyes closed, on one leg etc... Overall I think investing in the practice facility is key- it's going to make you feel like a golfer. Practicing on facilities when people let you is nice, but i always feel like i'm watching over my shoulder. I'm trying to practice for like 100 a month or less, and getting out to the course >5 hrs a week is pushing my limits with my life and responsibilities rn but i'm hoping that'll change soon. But for you, if 5 figures is in your budget then you need to do it. You'll only regret it later on if you only gave yourself three-quarters or half of a chance.
Sounds to me like Solena would be great for the aspiring tour pro golfers out there for a full time practice facility, I’m sure Bryan bros can find good deals for both parties , who knows , get enough good players and can really make something happen out of it that really helps Solena in long run.
Every player on earth goes through slumps. Hardest part is trying to focus on the positives and not the negatives. For some reason that's really hard to do in golf. Keep pressing young man. Use the beginning of 2025 as beginning of a great chapter in your life
Hi Ben, the most important thing to do is clear the mind/body. Invariably, when you are struggling it is because every thing has become a thing. Don’t fall for the traditional nonsense. You don’t have to grind through it. We can clear that in 30 min so that you can let your talent and efforts pay off. Alan
Ben about the putter. You got one that sounds really clicky. I've heard tell that that's some fancy pants putter. Please consider finding a "Stogie" putter. The reason is that there is absolutely no chance you will strike the ball unperpindicular... now that's a word.
I've missed a few of your uploads but remember what your swing looked like. Right now there is a day and night difference to your pass through the ball. Low scores incoming very soon.
Question for you Ben - I’ve seen lots of TH-camrs changing putters on the regular (Pete Finch, Garrett, Grant, etc) to try to improve their putting. I’ve never really believed that putting is something that the club is going to make THAT much difference. What’s your thoughts?
This is a very cool series, but man, you need to relax and have fun again on the course, your all body is tense it's amazing, and please I see nobody putting so much pressure and difficulty on every shot. Driving is hard enough not to put the ball so low on the tee and try to produce a low draw with the ball so much on the left foot, you make it impossible. Please keep going and come play in Europe one day.
Ben I'm not sure if you have a sports psychologist that you deal with I know playing golf your brain can just go in 100,000 different ways every other hole I just know they can help quiet your mind and understand that it's just golf go do what you know how to do best and if you have a bad hole who cares it happens or if you have a bad round who cares it happens go get them Ben
Golf man. Keep grinding. Eventually it will get sorted. It took me 3 years after filming full time to figure out how to play consistently and better!
Thank you!! I’ll keep at it 👊
Love seeing the support creator to creator.
@@kevinking9506 agree!
We need a video with Wesley, George and Ben.
@@nicolasluciano9685 completely agree!
Well, slumps suck but, the videos and talk therapy process is awesome. Will continue to support your journey.
Great video, great attitude to wanting to improve and great content as ever. Been with you since the trunk slammer days. You got this bro keep fighting.
My notes from today's video:
1. Love this type of content, very honest and real
2. Golf is a really tough sport, don't be too hard on yourself
3. You miss a lot of approach shots short
4. Love the mental approach, "your next shot should be your best shot" as the book goes
5. Talk therapy will defo help
6. Look up micro dosing
Keep 'em coming, looking forward to your 2025 journey!
Keep going BH. YOU got this.

Keep trucking!
No caveats or excuses,
Great to watch
A mallet style centre shafted is the easiest to line up. Give it a try.
Putting is the great equalizer. The rest of your game should always be good.
Rooting for you Ben.
Distance control is an absolute must for good players; especially 8 iron and up.
Saying the night before/morning of a round “Please god, don’t let me embarrass myself” is how 90% of golfers prepare for a round. Don’t worry Ben. You can do it!
always a great watch!
If you focus on solving the number one problem that will feel more attainable and go a long way
here we go, 2025 has big things coming for ya, love the truth and grind you share, keep it up!
This was inspiring Ben!
Florida may be the toughest state in the country to play golf in. Between wind, sticky Bermuda grass, grainy putting surfaces, water and alligator land everywhere. It’s tough to go low. Your game maybe better than you think. Try a tournament somewhere else and see if you go low.
keep going man!
GOLF IS HARD… KEEP ON GRINDING ⛳️
Great video Ben. Been watching for a while and it was kinda hard to watch the tournament videos and seeing you struggle but this video was definitely better, a lot more positivity and a true insight on how you feel. 2025 is Ben's year 💪🏻
Yessirrrrr thank you brother.
That's self-empowerment!
We need another “What’s in the Bag!”
Sounds to me like Solena would be great for the aspiring tour pro golfers out there for a full time practice facility, I’m sure Bryan bros can find good deals for both parties , who knows , get enough good players and can really make something happen out of it that really helps Solena in long run.
Love the content. Maybe hit up a mental coach? You definitely have the tools to get there.
You got the game now the head space needs to be worked on.
Every player on earth goes through slumps. Hardest part is trying to focus on the positives and not the negatives. For some reason that's really hard to do in golf. Keep pressing young man. Use the beginning of 2025 as beginning of a great chapter in your life
those Iron shots!
Hi Ben, the most important thing to do is clear the mind/body. Invariably, when you are struggling it is because every thing has become a thing. Don’t fall for the traditional nonsense. You don’t have to grind through it. We can clear that in 30 min so that you can let your talent and efforts pay off.
Alan
Like you said, ACE!!!
Ben about the putter. You got one that sounds really clicky. I've heard tell that that's some fancy pants putter. Please consider finding a "Stogie" putter. The reason is that there is absolutely no chance you will strike the ball unperpindicular... now that's a word.
Keep working brother
You got it! 👊
Keep grinding
I’m 5 min and can say put the DF3 back in the bag. That putter wasn’t your issue
Never heard you talk about on course nutrition. Got any advice for it
where'd you get the blue ball?
Hi Ben. There's a book that I think you would greatly benefit from by R.J. Spina called 'Change Your Mind'.
@9:00 dont take something off. Step in a 7i. You had 20+ yards in front of the flag
