Hi! i'll be getting a pack of "fake?" hair soon with a crochet hook, i was wondering how many locs i should make for a medium sized head (i'm a guy) and also i wondered if the top part of the dreadloc should be left like the normal loose hair and then loc it into my own hair or if i should lock the entire strand and somehow add my own hair to the loc, thank you.
You should lock up all of your natural hair using 1x1 inch square sections. Leave like 1 in loose at the end of the tread for the extension to attach to. On my channel I have videos explaining how to use my method and you can use it to attach the dread extensions as well. As far as how many dreads you will have that's entirely hard to tell but it's usually around 40 to 60 if it's your whole head.
