This is my honest review of Tarisland after dozens of hours. What did you think if you played it?
played to lvl 16 games dogshit and china sucky sucky
At the 14-minute mark, you were just like "If anyone is still watching this video..."
Rage-quitting because they're bad at the game (not paying attention) ... Thats make me laugh :D
Played it in the last beta too, it feels like another mobile pc port. Very shallow skill ceiling, terrible customization and don't get me started on how p2w this premium thing is.
It aint even about the dungeon entries, the crafting vigor or whatever it's called, that's where its at.
Dozens of hours ? Late dungeons/raids are not that bad, it seems you played till lvl 20 and quit :D
There's no way I am playing a MMO that tried to scam players by adding a extra step for p2w and saying its non p2w...😂

I didn't have much hope for this game, but I'm so desperate for a solid new MMO that I was willing to give it a chance. But after this review my 10% interest has fallen to 0%. Hilarious review btw!
Me too. I’d be happy to be friends with people who are looking for a good mmorpg to start. I need something that gives the feeling of nostalgia like back in the day.
Same reason I didn't play Naraka: Bladepoint after it went free to play, it suddenly asked to disable something after it went free to play, so I decided NOT to do it just for this ONE game when all the others don't require this. So I won't disable anything for a game when 1000 other games don't ask for, it either you find a workaround as a developer or lose players because of it, I'm sure a lot of people won't do it either.
Naraka was the first thing that came to my mind after this review, exactly the reason I didn't install it. Fishy af.
What did you have to disable? What are you talking about? I haven't played Naraka: Bladepoint yet. I just know it for the collab with Nier: Automata.
@@augustino7529 You could easily check online, forgot what it was called. Or you could just go download the game and see that you can't play the game since it gives you some error in chinese and tells you to disable some security thing, all in all SHOULD be harmless, but should and is it's debatable.
@@augustino7529 What's more fishy is that when it was pay to play I could play it without tinkering with anything but refunded it because I had no one to play with and it wasn't my kind of game anyway since battle royales are mid. Suddenly when it went free to play it had that thing required to play, probably to sell your data so they can still make money off of you even if you don't buy microtransactions.

In my opinion, any game that prompts you to disable your antivirus and firewall or any sort of security feature that you may have is not worth the time, regardless of the company's reputation.
Right? That's a big red flag for me.

I will say one thing the charters in charter creation did not look half bad for the style yes customization was lacking but they honestly look nice. But then again very few games has such nice customization as Aion and BDO have.

@@MMOByte Before they revamped the whole tutorial and stuff, as you crest the hill before the first boss fight, they panned over the view of the Island. I think they took it out in the current build
If you're going to make a game that restricts class to sex, then you should go all the way into how Diablo handles it. With each being a unique character with their own story and agenda within the game. Whom you design. Like in Baldur's Gate 3.

It's one thing to allow traffic on a firewall but if this game requires you to turn off both your firewall and anti-virus that's a hard pass for me. Turning off security like that is setting yourself up for problems.

I gave it a try with the new Update. From my point of view it is boring after the first.. 2 seconds compared to WoW Aion or GW2. No good mmo since years, so atleast Black Desert helped me installing Age of Empires II and stopped with MMOs. AoE II is my wife now.

well, logically, you would want to ensure its not really p2w before u claim it. however on the other hand, if they really didnt know, it would kind of make sense to remove all claims of not being p2w if it is considered p2w, correct? also i think every game nowadays has to have some form of monetization to survive long-term so its not a big deal to me personally.
EDIT: also, i get this mmo and a lot of others have even basic of flaws, but i dont get why ur making fun of it? what MMO do you play then? all i see if you try them and review them on yt atleast, so im curious, what one you play so i can try it out.

It's not even mmo, it pretends to be mmo, you cant get exp from killing random mobs, no loot drops from them, you have linear quest progression which gives you loot boxes from dungeons or raids, quests, and by opening you have random chance to get something, world is open but there is nothing to do besides quests, dungeons and raids
For a mobile game = maybe, for a PC gamer = fxck no. Easy....

15:46 If the gears and shit you buy from the cash shop using IRL currency gives you an advantage over PVE/PVP content then its no doubt, absolutely, pay to win. PERIOD. I have no idea why people would argue/disagree over such a thing. Unless the game emphasizes heavy nerfing/balance to P2W players, which is absolutely impossible, because why would people waste money on buying shit if they won't get any advantage on any content.

I kind of feel bad for the team? I mean some of this stuff looks like it was made by wow fans as an attempt to preserve the game in some form, but the whole package just stinks from greed. As for the monetization, its kinda identical to everything blizz does, in wow you can buy a wow token, exchange for gold, buy gear or boost from your gold. Its a kind of pay for convenience system ran by players, blizz just allows it to happen. I hope for the best with Tarisland, I realy want it to be good, but I have a feeling the 900% value offers and loot box offers will start popping up at the end of every dungeon/raid instead of gear drops, just to make it truly a blizzlike experience
The only difference is the boost you get for a variety of things in-game, really.
I knew it was going to be a flop 2023 and they still lock classes behind a gender. I really hope that Crystal of Atlan won't let us down.
They promised players that they will have 2 genders each class.
I'll still play even if it turns out p2w, I'd rather them go the Order&Chaos(2012)route and charge a monthly subscription. Heck I'd pay 15$ a month, but if not that's fine. I just truly like the gameplay it's self.

Well, they failed because they didn't start as a highly popular RTS game series. WoW did. It already had a huge payer base when it was created and the difficulty got people socializing a banding together without being difficult enough to be an impediment or frustrating (outside of the major stuff, but by then you would be part of a closely-knit guild). The WoW clones never have the former and don't even try to do the latter.
Its weird to me that there still isnt a good mobile MMO..... seems modern phones are capible internally to hand it.
Can be better than albion online or at least as good .
Why cant anyone make a order and chaos clone? That game was the best mobile mmorpg of all times

Starting this comment at around 8m... doubt it will change... So the too long didn't watch summary of this review.
TLDW: The entire studio is completely creatively bankrupt, and almost wholly skill and ability bankrupt. The sole saving grace that the art team that specifically produces the in game assets themselves are reasonably skilled, but still creatively bankrupt. They kind of copied the homework with the prettiest of handwriting, but the content was all worse than the source material.
And video over, summary works.
