Proper preparation is crucial for overlanding in this region. The high altitudes and remote locations demand a well-maintained vehicle, preferably a 4x4, equipped with spare tires, extra fuel, and essential tools. Pack adequate warm clothing, as temperatures can drop significantly, especially at night. Ensure you have necessary permits, which can be obtained from local authorities in Leh for areas like Nubra, Shyok, Changthang and Chumathang.
This place is very raw, beautiful and fragile at the same time. Please help in maintaining the sanctity of the places and do not litter.
