    Finally some one who does not talk at the the speed of light, I can understand this gentleman well, thank you Sir. Complaining about the other much faster talking guys has not seemed to slowed them down at all and NO, I am not hard of hearing.

    Info for anyone watching: the three CE numbers certify abrasion resistance, impact cut resistance (resistance of the upper to cutting) and transverse rigidity (resistance of the sole to crushing from the side) in this order. They are not related to ankle, heel, toe, shin impact protection, nor to torsional ankle protection. Newer boots will have a fourth 1/2 number to the left of the other three (shows height -- mid or tall, which is entirely pointless -- if you can't judge a boot's height by the look of it... oh, well).

    I bought a pair of Sidi Strada boots 10 years ago & they are still going strong. Probably have close to 100,000 riding miles on them. Had them resoled once but the zipper is original & still works great.

      Sidi makes great stuff. I have a pair of their mountain bike shoes that are probably 15 years old and they are still in great shape.

    I may be 3 years late on this comment, but your video is very helpful as I wanted the Sidis but I wasn't going to buy them because no CE rating. It's funny that you put RevZilla on front Street and I agree with the other commenters not only did they get it wrong on these boots but all the loud fast talking does get a little annoying, so I really liked your style. How about a 3-year update on how they're holding up, are they less stiff and still good for walking around?

    Thank you for the review! And what about comfort walking and long rides on the motorcycle?

      Both boots were very comfortable around the house. I kept the Sidi boots, so those were the only ones that I have riding experience with. A few days after shooting this video, I went on a 1300 mile trip and walked a few miles in the Sidi, and they were extremely comfortable. They have a comfortable footbed and enough flex that they're not cumbersome to walk around in. I did have to adjust my shifter up a little bit, because the boots are slightly taller than my normal riding shoes.

    @Jonathan Long thank you for replaying. Having a hard time picking between those two boots. Like you not a big fun of the velcro on the TCX, however looking to decide on witch offers better ankle protection. Want make sure the boot doesn't bend at the ankle area. Unfortunately revzilla does not show either boot bending side to side to get s better idea ,, also so you said revzilla missed the fact tht the sidi are CE ..

    Revzilla has the Sidi at over $300 and the TCX at a little over $200. I purchased the Sidi at FC Moto for $200 and love the boot! It is so fantastic, super comfortable! For me, the Sidi is a superior boot.

    Where are these boots made I wonder? I know SIdi is Italian but are they made in Italy? Thanks for the video.

    Good video. I went with the TCX as it was more comfortable on my big calves with its lower height and rear cutout

    I like your review thanks.
    How is the how the weather performance of the Sidi aria?
    How is the ventilation? Can you feel the breeze?

    • @JonLong
      @JonLong  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The boots are comfortable in warm weather, but obviously do not have the ventilation of a non-waterproof boot. So I do not feel a breeze or airflow in the boot. But they also do not get hot like a leather boot. Heat and moisture can escape pretty easily.

    • @bariti86
      @bariti86 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is the main reason I am considering these boots. a lot of people say TCX boots are really breezy. I know you have not worn them in your opinion just for warm weather which one should I get. I was ready to order the TCX but after watching your review I am a bit conflicted.

    • @JonLong

      In terms of airflow, they should be identical. They have very similar construction, so I wouldn’t choose based on that. You can’t go wrong with either one, so I’d just pick whichever you like better.

    Hi , in normal shoes i wear 44 or sometimes 44.5 eu size. I m interested to buy Sidi . What should be my size ? 44 or 45 ?

    • @pobber1
      @pobber1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm normally a UK 10 (EU 44.5). I tired on the Sidi's in UK 9.5 (EU 44), they were too small and I tried UK 10.5 (EU 45) and they were too big. It was annoying because I really liked the boots.

    How much protection do they have at the ankle area?

    • @JonLong
      @JonLong  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are plates on both sides of the ankle, and the boot itself is stiff. It feels like good ankle protection, while still being flexible enough for comfort when walking around.

    Thanks man. I was thinking about doing the exact same thing. Let us know about the air flow.

      Hey Brad, I bought these boots in the fall of last year, so the temps were starting to cool down. With that said, I did a 1300 mile trip with the Sidi boots and was extremely comfortable the whole time. I even spent a good amount of time walking around in them and the boots never felt hot or stuffy.
