I did like the first game, saw that 20% sale and said "eh, why not" I may not play it day 1 cuz still trying to 100% sea of stars, but I know I will like it.
That is an ultra bargain price! 92% is a fantastic score. It’s going to be a busy month and an interesting one at that and I’m looking forward to what else will get a high score. Well done Mark 👏👏👏👏
I loved the first one! In fact it was one of the first games I got when I got my Switch in late 2019. As it turned out, a few weeks later I was diagnosed with cancer for the second time in my life. As a result I spent late 2019 in the hospital, undergoing surgery and chemotherapy. The most difficult months of my life, and at times I felt like giving up because of how grueling the treatments were. Having bought the Switch turned out to be a blessing, though, as I was able to take it with me wherever I went, and was able to play from my hospital bed while I was quarantined due to being immunocompromised. Wargroove was one of the games that provided an escape from the grueling chemotherapy. My last day of chemo was December 31, 2019. I've got my bi-annual (by now) check up tomorrow on October 3. Have been cancer free since early 2020. I can't wait to sink my teeth into this sequel, this time while I'm in a much better place.
The first game was really fun, I’m so happy the second is coming out soon, the switch has a great strategy genre catalog that fans would be happy to try if they haven’t!
Loved the first and the build your own campaign stuff is such an underrated feature. It's very deep but quite easy and the fact that you could make multilayer maps meant I could make some meat little campaigns for events or gatherings with family/friends. Glad to see 2 builds on the first game in every way. Great points raised Mark and great review. Dem War-turtles truly are brilliant- plush please?
Wow. This reminds me so much of advance wars. I never heard of it. I love strategy games. I grew up with shining force and advance wars. I need to get my hands on this game and the first one. Thanks guys. You always build up my backlog. I always watch your vids when I'm close to finishing a game.
I LOVED the first Wargroove. Its only flaw was that the default difficulty was skewed too high and it locked content if you couldn't score high enough on it. Really looking forward to getting into this one!
I really like the look of the game Shame I don't still have my brother around, we would have LOVED multiplayer on this as kids And the level editor took me back to my Warhammer days, where you'd build your own battlefield (out of expanding foam!)
Wowowowowow! Everything looks so gorgeous! I'm sold!!! Need to snag a physical copy asap before it gets pricey. That happened with Wargrove 1, honestly. Ty for this review!!!
After waiting 2 years and prematurely giving up that Wargroove 1 would ever hit the Switch, it’s funny that I’m now learning Wargroove 2 is already out
I have the first one in my backlog. I got the collector's edition from Walmart for around $10 a while back on clearance. I really need to get around to playing it. I'm happy to see this one turn out so well.
This looks like a must own for me...only wondering if/when a physical will happen. Chucklefish really do put out amazing games. My only disappointment I ever had from them was the fact that they never released a console version of Starbound. If they'd ever release that on Switch...idunno, I'd probably cry tears of joy. Truly a trajedy
Hoping it gets a standard-retail physical-deluxe release with some extra's like the first game did. That made it even better. And indeed, that is an amazing line up of games they released. Only a handful of developers/publishers whose logo is that easily a seal of quality.
I only ever heard of Chucklefish from Stardew Valley, being ignorant I never researched any other games they published or developed, and this particular game isn’t for me, however…their art style is glorious! So again Mark, Glen, my bank account cries but your videos continue to educate greatly! None of this is a negative 😂❤
I noticed this has a bundle offered that is Wargroove 1+2. Is there a reason to get Wargroove 1 still? They look incredibly similar except WG2 has another faction and some new units/mode. However I never played 1 so maybe I am missing something it only offers.
dont think ive ever been quite this early, just wanted to drop by and say thank you for the constant quality uploads. Keep doing what youre doing mates Also the game seems great, might pick it up eventually
My biggest complaint with the first game was not being able to level up my units. I usually grind my way thru games like this, but since that wasn't an opition, I had to lower the difficulty to the lowest setting.
Always been interested in the first one but never purchased or played. Anyone think there’s any reason not to just get this one and skip the first at this point?
Can ai use transports on their own this time? My friend and I would play against ai on custom maps and they never used transports outside campaign or scripted
I loved the first game but I haven't beaten it for bunch of hours in it and wargrove 2 looks awesome prolly gonna beat the first one now so I can pick this up
Never heard of the series , but this one looks right up my alley ! And with a really good price (plus a preorder discount) , it was an instant buy. Thanks for the review !
I loved the original Wargroove as it scratched that Advance Wars itch before said game was released. I'm currently playing Advance Wars Switch and loving it so it'll be interesting to see how this game compares - not that a comparison is necessary as I feel Wargroove is an IP in it's own right.
ปีที่แล้ว +1
It does look amazing. I'm too invested with Disgaea series, so I try to avoid other strategy games at the moment. Anyway, it's going to the wishlist.
I'm a big tactics fan, but something puts me off of Wargroove and Advance Wars. I don't know if it's the art, presentation, or simplistic impression. I do want to try it out at some point, but there's just too much out right now!
I loved the first game game because you could easily do a pvp hotseat game. With the second game you Suddenly need four controllers connected if you want to play a 4p game hotseat game which is not understandable for me tbh. Maybe i am doing something wrong
@@patogordo1385 Haha, the old backlog. It's fun, you should definitely give it a shot. Especially if you're thinking about checking the sequel. See if it's for you without spending more money.
Loved the Advance Wars GBA titles, and even more so War Groove. Setting up those min/maxing units to hard counter an enemy breach and/or setting up those crits to get out of trouble. Its definatly a must buy, but since the 1st got a physical print, I think Ill haft to hold out for a physical cartridge. Anyone has any idea of when such an announcement would reasonably be presented (if)?
We should see y'alls entite switch game collection at some point. Busting out these reviews at lightening speed 😂. Ill be adding this to my buy later list since it takes me like a month to get through games.
LOVED the first Wargroove and totally hyped aout this second one. My backlog is fiiiine I can definitely skip Wargroove 2 to the top of the list....right?
Looks a lot more immersive than the 1st. And a helluva lot prettier than the Advance Wars remake. But Im always suspicious toward pre order discounts. What are they hiding? Probably the instability?
So when are you going to reveal your time machine? Or the hyperbolic time chamber? How is your team playing so many games and getting so many reviews out at the pace of rabbits giving birth???
Wow, I thought this was going to be like a $50 game! Looks sweet - war turtles for the win! Edit: This game is really fun already and enjoying the story as well!
Were you a fan of the original game? Hopefully this one has all the information you need! Mark
I did like the first game, saw that 20% sale and said "eh, why not" I may not play it day 1 cuz still trying to 100% sea of stars, but I know I will like it.
Thank you for the review. It's definitely in my game to buy soon. A great strategy game at this price and with a high playing time. Very nice

Are the factions asymmetrical?

They also published Stardew Valley and Eastward. We can add Witchbrook too if it ever comes out. Chucklefish is a good publisher.
Those first two alone make their pedigree insane. Can't wait to play this, looks beautiful and fun!
Stardew valley is not from chucklefish
It was originally published by Chucklefish until Barone parted ways with them.
How is this game for 5 bucks?
The value of this package is crazy
I don’t think I had realized Timespinner was chucklefish! What a sublime metroidvania that was!!
The dogs don't die! They run away like good doggos! Instant 10/10!
I LOVED the first Wargroove. Its only flaw was that the default difficulty was skewed too high and it locked content if you couldn't score high enough on it. Really looking forward to getting into this one!

I still have the first one sitting in my backlog, and I just started another turn based tactical game: Triangle Strategy. One for the future perhaps!
This was a title i was definitely waiting for!

This looks lovely! Deffo going into my wishlist 😊
Deffo
I love the first one! Very pleased to see we've got another strategy game on swith, I do love a good strategy 😊
Definitely on my Santa wish list! I love the first game and have the physical copy so would love to get both. Looks like untold content xx

This and Wargroove 1 i gotta play. And with Disgaea 7 this week, the turn based game lovers are just eating and losing hours
I not even played the first one yet (I bought but never played) to think about trying the 2

It’s a great game that you should absolutely play first if you can but you don’t “need” to to enjoy this at all. Mark
Doing the Charlie Brown Christmas dances?!? Got to have this!
Good to hear they continued to build on the formula. I’ll pick this one up.
Already pre ordered it, looks so good!
The first one was a bit drawn out imo, guess we'll see with this one :)

Awesome review man! Definitely sold me on it :)
As a fan of Advance Wars and wargroove while waiting on AW release, I was surprised and excited to see this.
Oh. My. Gosh. Wulfar's back! I just hope they let you access everything from the start!
This was my next go to game, after the Advance War collection, now we have them both, this game will be an amazing strategy one.
Do the factions have unique units this time? In the first game, all factions have exactly the same units just re-skinned to fit their theme
I'm a sucker for turn based strategy so I'm sure this will end up on my switch. Cheers for review.
My biggest complaint with the first game was not being able to level up my units. I usually grind my way thru games like this, but since that wasn't an opition, I had to lower the difficulty to the lowest setting.
damn i was expecting like 50$ pirce point, amazing value
Nice review, thanks!
Haven't ever played any game of this genre, but the artstyle here is so beautiful that I would give it a try!
Mario + Rabbids 1 is also pretty fun
Heck yeah. Now the big Borderland 3 review!!
Always been interested in the first one but never purchased or played. Anyone think there’s any reason not to just get this one and skip the first at this point?
Just watched the new Fifa review and can comfortably say this looks much better!! Will be a perfect early birthday gift to myself
Most games are better than FIFA to be fair
I would say ‘stop hurting my wallet!’ But that’s an absurdly good price for such a high-scoring game. I loved Wargroove so consider this sold 😂
This looks so good it's making me question my vow to whittle the backlog before any new games lol
Can ai use transports on their own this time? My friend and I would play against ai on custom maps and they never used transports outside campaign or scripted

Very interested in this one, but sadly I won't be able to get it anytime soon ;o;
I would buy this if there is a way to turn off the little cinematic while fighting. It DOES look good but for me it just slows down the game.
Well this game is going to my wish list right away, hope it will be cheaper soon

Sheesh put it this way it takes literally five minutes just to scroll through it
I thought my collection took a while to scroll through 😂
just pre-ordered. This looks like a lot of fun
Loved the original. Timespinner was great. Chuckle fish is great. Pathway was good. Got this the day before it came out and am very excited.
played the demo on Steam and it's ok. I'm just not a big fan of units needing to be at certain spots to deal crits.
Dogs could absolutely get killed in the first one
this years just crazy for games!
Whoa, all that content at £16!? If it's priced similarly, i can get wargroove 1 as well.
Really enjoyed the first one so I'm definitely checking if out eventually
Great game that I will buy 100%, but I want to wait for news about physical release first before making rash decisions.
I've never checked out anything from this publisher so I'll have to have a look

Yes

There are just too many good games right now I can’t find the time or the money 😢

Another homerun from the Wargroove team!
Amazing value for money compared to AAA games
