The world's first Armand de Brignac Dynastie: an extremely rare, one-of-a-kind collection of Armand de Brignac ("Ace of Spades") Brut Gold Champagne, was purchased at Billionaire Club, Monaco during the recent Monaco Grand Prix Weekend by Charles Shaker, a British entrepreneur and advisor to the ultra wealthy.
The phenomenal sale took place during an exclusive "Armand de Brignac Gold Party", which was hosted by Billionaire Club, Monaco, where "Dynastie" was listed for £330,000, possibly making it the world's most expensive champagne listing ever!
The Armand de Brignac Dynastie collection consists of nine different Brut Gold bottle sizes and includes every available bottle format, from the standard 750ml bottle to the exclusive and world-record breaking 30L Midas. Collectively "Dynastie" amounts to 109 bottles of Armand de Brignac's handmade, prestige cuvée Champagne.
Shaker commented: "I was introduced to Armand de Brignac a few years ago by my good friend Don Johnson and have been a fan ever since! I had heard that Armand de Brignac had created the Dynastie collection and it caught my attention immediately. I was in Monaco with clients for the Grand Prix and was therefore excited to hear that the collection would be unveiled at Billionaire Club during Armand de Brignac's Gold Party. Buying the collection was such a joy and I wanted everyone to be part of the celebration. There was certainly enough champagne to go around! My only regret was that Don was not there to share the experience with us in person - however I did call him, so he was there by phone"
It took a precession of 12 waiting staff to carry the nine-bottle collection through the club - the Midas bottle alone required four men to carry it, and was presented in a gold Roman Litter style ice bucket.
One partygoer described the scene: "Everyone was dancing, when the music suddenly stopped. The DJ then came on the mic and congratulated Charles Shaker on "buying the world's first Armand de Brignac Dynastie collection". We then saw what seemed like a spectacular, never-ending stream of gold bottles being bought through the club -- all different sizes! The club went crazy -- everyone was trying to take pictures, cheering and clapping! Shaker's table then started opening bottles and waiters were pouring champagne for everyone! It was an amazing night"
Leonardo DiCaprio was amongst the celebrities in venue, along with Samy Sass and Flavio Briatore, founders of Billionaire Club Monaco. Briatore congratulate Shaker on his epic champagne purchase and took pictures as a memento of the record-breaking evening.
Armand de Brignac is no stranger to headlines! Leonardo DiCaprio reportedly spent $3m on Armand de Brignac Champagne when he celebrated his 38h birthday with friends last year in New York. The luxury champagne also made news across the world when the UK's first 30L Midas, the world's largest luxury bottle of Champagne, was launched. Weighing 100 pounds (45kg) and equivalent to 40 regular-sized, the colossal bottle size was purchased in London by businessman and entrepreneur Don Johnson for £120,000, making it the most expensive champagne bottle sold in London outside an auction!
