    Too many great Dinah tunes to name just one as my all-time favorite, but this certainly comes close. I have 43 vinyl albums of hers with over 500 songs and there's no doubt in my mind that she's the finest female singer to have ever graced this planet. Saucy, sly, swinging, a consumate stylist and who else enunciates like her?

      Agree 100%. She doesn't get the credit she deserves. Billy Holiday is a distant second.

    Sounds like the kind of stuff that made Aretha Franklin a star 10 years LATER. Aretha was fabulous but Dinah was the first Queen of Soul!

      Dinah wasn't called the Queen of Soul. She was called the Queen of Blues.

      @@WindDancer435 Dinah Washington was the first Queen of Soul whether she was called that at the time or not. Indeed, in February 1964 -- just two months after Dinah's death -- Aretha recorded a memorial called "Unforgettable: A Tribute to Dinah Washington." This album very much has the feel of "The Queen is dead; long live the Queen!":
