- Join us on our underground exploration of an abandoned antimony mine that dates to 1900 located in a historic mining district of the Central Cascade Mountains of Washington State. Come along as as we uncover the dangers and reveal some hidden secrets of this more than century old abandoned mine site.
THE MAJORITY OF THE MINE NAMES ARE CHANGED OR ALTERED IN OUR VIDEOS TO PROTECT HISTORIC ARTIFACTS AND PREVENT THE SITE FROM BECOMING A NUISANCE SITE. IN SOME CASES WE HAVE BEEN GRANTED PRIVATE PROPERTY PERMISSION AND WE HAVE BEEN ASKED NOT TO DISCLOSE LOCATIONS.
Many ghost towns, mines and other forgotten historic sites in Washington State have already disappeared from history and many more are being lost each year to the ravages of time, wildfire, vandalism, and intentional closure. In addition to our many years of photographic documentation of these important historic sites we are now attempting to video document as many sites as we can so there is a lasting record of these places for future generations.

Spring board notches. Cool
They are common in these historic area, but they are always cool.to see.
Those notches can be seen throughout the woods along the west side of the Cascade Moutans. A time that men were using their hands and backs to cut timber. Very few old growth left today.
I remember driving through keechelus lake and seeing hundreds or maybe thousands of stumps like that. Cool video. Love the PNW. Got to get out and do some things like this. Been wheeling and camping but not exploring like this. Keep it up!

That’s cool. Just getting into the exploring of mines. Right now down in Arizona and have been in 4 so far. Funny you say washougal because that’s where I’m from. I’ll need to do some research when I get back up there come April. Any tips on some to explore there?

As you went up the the mine i believe you said this was mined around 1900 ? To about 1930 looks like mules where most likely used and no trail found well it is over 100 plus years old ⛏️thank you for the adventure
The mine was active from around 1900 to 1908 with some intermittent production until 1920. Thanks for watching and the comments.

Look for remnants of skin from my arm when I fell 15' going from the big rock crack while taking a shortcut down to that tunnel. 🎉
