There might be nothing groundbreaking in this but we're seeing the beginnings of the Ten Hag system at Man United with these videos and that in itself is exciting.

It's so refreshing to see some serious structure to training. Having ETH direct the session also ensures that the players fully understand his system and gain confidence in achieving his standards. In order to really notice the difference, just watch footage of a "training session" while Ole was Manager. Is it any wonder why the players looked confused and played like crap.

Only one who understand him is juan mata, that's why when mata play alongside vdb, the ball movement is so fluid and fast. Remember that one game against newcastle at st james park? That's a good example how vdb and mata understand each other. Because that's also how mata play during his time in chelsea, how he orchestrated that chelsea team that make him chelsea POTY at one time.
That's why it's a bit shame that mata choose to leave before had a session with eth, maybe if mata choose to stay a bit longer, have training season with eth he gonna change his mind and stay for at least a season or two

That's how van de beek tried to play when he joined but the other players were not used to it & it wasn't Ole's style that's why he has a smile on his face again because he knows Ten Hag's style & for me I believe he will be the one playing number 10 a head of Bruno Fernandez. Because it's the one he used to play in Ajax under Ten Hag.

Really wanna see Utd play with a much higher tempo and attacking mindset. And comfortable playing out from the back as well. Hopefully Erik can get these players doing that. God knows Pogba, Matic and Lingard could never play like that in a million years. But hopefully these lads can learn. 👍🏼

    • @whereistheaccountability7353
      @whereistheaccountability7353 ปีที่แล้ว +6

Any player can play one touch football if that’s the system of the club. It’s a question of how well they fit into that system and their mental mindset.
Singling out these three players with a unfounded assumption that they could not play within this system is a reflection on your biases towards them, not their inability to play one touch football.
I am grateful all three have departed and wish many more players depart before the transfer window ends. We need a refresh.

You don’t know football mate. Matic, Pogba and Lingard are best suited to exactly that type of football. Unfortunately they’ve had managers that never played that. Lingard especially, his game is all about passing, moving and finding space in between the lines. Actually a very intelligent player in all fairness but ability wise he’s not elite.

Even if those players could somehow play that style it would be a sorry attempt no matter which coach is with them. (Not particularly just one touch but also progressing the ball up the field as quickly and efficiently as possible, creating chances e.t.c) Some individuals are poor in ability no matter what or in more palatable terms have a limited output in those scenarios where desperate upgrades are desired. Why do you think teams ghosted past our midfield with those 3 mentioned patrolling the centre of the park in the last couple of years? Amongst a few others. Utd have some talented players. Absolutely. But we've gotten too attached to mediocrity in recent times and need to unearth hidden treasures and and recruit world class talent in equal measure if we want any chance to climb back to the top.

Intensity wise my amateur club is also quicker than utd is right now. The stopwatch thing and being ON TIME and not early then again is for me more known as a German thing but it is widely used in NL army and other sports because its known as being the way to do not overdo it, but also know your own pace and the pace of others in your club.

@@TeamCGC98 : I really hope so. Donny is a Pro to the bone.
I came practicaly from the same place, where he lived. But that was before he was born 😅. The people there between Nijkerk and Amersfoort are down to earth people. More on the country side, middle of NL. Hard working, no nonse people. Okay, money can change people, but if Donny stays this way. Then Man U will not regret it.
I hope Man U has talked to these players and basically not a good PR for the club🤦‍♂️, now he earned even more a place from the start on the pitch 😁🤣
Let's see if Ten Hag will succeed

AWB was never coached properly. Maybe with proper coaching he will shock people. He is an amazing athlete, now we have to develop his football brain. The coaching helps develop understanding and learning of football, how they are supposed to play under this manager. United will win the league for sure, I expect this in the 4th season under ETH. I believe we have the best coach on the planet even better than Pep. We will only fail if the players and the board don’t work with this manager. We have another Sir Alex on our hands. United will rise again.

This is refreshing to see. United have for so long played a style of football that's slow and pedestrian where there's not much movement off the ball and struggle to break down teams that just sit back. For the last couple of years, the reliance has mainly been on individual brilliance rather than the team playing good football. Our best has come when we just sit back and hit on the counter with the pace of the front three. That's one of the reasons why United have struggled against the lower teams as they don't dominate possession or control the games. With ten Hag, this will all change. It's good to see that the youngsters are getting that coaching and it'll be interesting to see when most of the main starters last season come in for pre-season as most of them aren't really suited to the ten Hag style. Hopefully ten Hag puts his trust in most of the youngsters coming through and gives them a chance this coming season.

TBF, I think this is probably the first time many of these players have been top tier coached since arriving in Manchester. I wouldn't be surprised if several players we've kinda written off as fans are given an entirely new lease of life under ETH. Time will tell, sure, and some have undoubtedly found their ceiling. But I think a handful could yet find some hidden potential.
Don't ask me who that'll be though! 🤣

This might not be groundbreaking stuff Sam, but we don't need groundbreaking stuff yet. Our players are not ready for that yet.
They need to nail the grass roots fundamentals first and foremost and, after watching all of the training videos, two things appear clear:
    1. Ten Hag also agrees the fundamentals need working on.
    2. He appears to be the man with the ability to get them doing it, and doing it well.
Personally, I will back absolutely any player who is willing to give 100% to training and learning what Ten Hag has to teach.
If some want to put in an extra 20 or 30% on top of that, brilliant!
So I guess it's going to be a case of wait and see what happens, who progresses and who literally doesn't want to or can't get on board with it.
Found it interesting to see Martial as the only player stood there with a really negative, closed off body language though. Shoulders squared, arms crossed, chin slightly tiled upwards. Be interesting to see a bit more of him and Maguire in training, as I think they are going to be the two biggest issues Ten Hag has.
