- Just wrapped up my first year in Stardew Valley and wow, what an interesting adventure…. From taking forever to find Lewis's shorts, to accidentally letting all of my crops die, I made a ton of rookie mistakes. I also had some wins along the way. In this video, I’ll share what I learned, my favorite moments, and how I’m planning to tackle Year 2.
If you're new to Stardew Valley or just want to laugh at some first-time player mistakes, this video is for you!

Good stuff, Dana!😉
thanks Stuart🙏😊
Sound balance could use a bit of tweaking, music louder than voice isn't the best listening experience imho. For that matter, music wasn't needed at all imo :)
Pale ale quest sitting in the questlog for a couple of years is very common. I think it's mostly there to show/remind players that kegs are a thing (and a very lucrative one btw).
You don't necessarily have to wait until you unlock kegs, or grow hops, by the way. The weird gipsy-like caravan that is sometimes present near the mage tower has a completely random selection of goods for sale (which may include hops or even pale ale). It can be super useful for quests, including community center bundles !
Fishing takes a bit of getting used to, and practice, but things to keep in mind :
- the training rod is EXCELLENT to get started. It has a few hidden modifiers that essentially ensures you'll only fish "basic" fishes and an easier minigame
- fishing overall gets much easier as your skill improves (the green bar grows + you unlock better tools), so the first levels are the worst
- using crab pots is a great alternative (almost passive) way to earn fishes & skill XP
And yes, sprinklers are awesome, and highlight a great mining/farming synergy : farming gets you food (for energy/health) while mining, and mining gets you everything you need to craft sprinklers at no cost !
Good luck, have fun :)
WOW! thanks so much Scott!!!!!! thanks for all your helpful tips. noted on the music for next time - will turn the volume down or get rid of it for next time 😊
very good to know about the kegs and pale ale!!!!! 🍺 sounds like I should make a keg ASAP. I am sick of having this quest on my plate but makes me feel better knowing that others have it on their plate for a year too 😅
How do you only have 300 subs you deserve wayyy more! ❤
oh thanks ! working on it 😊
Awesome Dana!
thanks Johnny!!!!! 😊
