Love my VK - did the mod that eliminates the 3rd gain stage and makes the circuit identical to a early Marshall 50 watt head, replaced the speaker with a Cannabis Rex, 60's Brimar pre tubes and RCA Output tubes....the thing ABSOLUTELY SINGS
These amps are seriously under rated. Great, neutral clean sound that is responsive and takes pedals brilliantly. Built like a tank, reverb plus loads of good features like texture and effects loop. Good for gigging musicians who use pedals and require plenty of headroom.
Love mine.Got it for a 100 bucks.I run a tube screamer with a digitech valve distortion and she sings. I don't use the 2nd channnel, it's not bad, just not as good as the first with pedals. Peace
I love my Peavey VK 112 ....Bought a couple of Modelling Amps and took them back to the Store. The modeling amps just won't cut it. The Tube Amps , especially this VK112 move air and just have the warmth the Digital Amps can't reproduce.
Amen bruddah, i just drunk texted like 4 sh!tty attempts at reviews, as I know this amp kills, but most retards either cant record or jut talk too much. Thanks man. Love it!
I will be buying one in a few days. I hope my playing skills will skip forward a few years to match yours....just through this purchase alone. Thanks for the demo. Really great.
Damn, that is a great sounding amp. I have just recently discovered Peavey Amps and I think some of them are real sleepers, and compare well to anything else made by Fender or Marshal. Growing up in the 1980's and early 90's I hated Peavey amps because everyone had the cheap solid states, didnt know what they were doing and they just sounded awful. Now years later I find that Peavey made a lot of great sounding amps, but I did not know about them. Nice playing to!
That's what I love about it. I tried some of these out next to Marshalls and some very pricy boutique amps and it positively crushed them. Valvekings are brilliantly engineered.
NIce playing and the amp sounds great. I own a 2x12 amp. You could play this amp on any stage or bar without any problem. It's a durable and dependable amp.
You did a good job of showing the tone's available from this amp. I just bought this amp for $80 off craigslist ! Can't beat that deal for an american made tube amp anywhere.
Really great review! Excellent playing. I've owned the 212 version and sold it because of the overkill of volume. I'm looking for this version you're showing here. This is one of the few good reviews of this amp because you actually can play and the sound of this review is excellent. Thanks!!!
I guess it all depends on who's playing on the demos. Great job. I listened to a couple of others which made the amp sound horrible. You made it sound great. Very nice playing.
I bought one of these. Great little amp. OEM sovtek 6L6 Power outputs were noisy, so I changed them to better quality JJ tubes and changed the 12ax7 as well. The specs call it a 50watt amp, but with only two 6L6 power tubes about 40 watts is typical power..although at high volumes you may get more out of it than that.
Absolutely one of the best demos of this amp. I consider the Valveking II far superior to the 6505. It captures a wonderful panoply of classic rock, blues and jazz tones with modern headroom and a complex gain structure. Great grit and great cleans, great reverb. What I don't like about the 6505, although it is a great amp, is that it's voiced too much to a dark, modern metal tone, and there's nothing I hate more in an amp than that relentlessly dark and chuggy gain structure. It may be a generational thing. I grew up in the 70s and 80s and for me the pinnacle of tone runs through that era. I never got into the thrash tone. I contacted Peavey earlier in the year to see if they were going to keep producing this amp and they said it's out of production and recommended the 6505 or Classic line. I Absolutely love the Classic line, and even some of their solid states like Bandits and Envoys which I've also owned, but when they built the Valveking line they really built something special.
I came for the Peavey demo, I ended up watching a lot of your vids, you are an awesome musician, your band is excellent, and you play some great tunes. I’m glad I found your channel! Thanks man
that was great playing man...loved it !!!!..having a hard time chooseing between the valveking or the bandit...someone help me !!....thanks for the post / video
sances2007 also, fantastic playing? I want to get into being able to play more advance lead stuff like that. Any suggestions for tabs or so to practice up to that?
Stephen Beyer hey thanks a lot :) it's a good gigging amp for small rooms, you can always mic it up and put it through the PA -- you could find one cheap locally probably or online- as far as the riffs , keep practicing !
sances2007 sweet, so I've never had a tube amp before. Right now I have a fender champion 100. I'm considering this amp as a replacement, would you have any idea which may have better tonality?
Oh, a quick update since you have highlighted my comment 😄 It turned out it could play even better than I expected since my guitar had stock pickups, not EMGs or Seymour Duncans. With a set of powerful pickups the amp really shines. I bought this amp about a year after I left the comment, but now I'm rocking on Bugera 333 XL since I mostly play death metal. Ive got a couple of preamps (custom copies of Engl e530 and Mesa Boogie Recording Preamp, and AMT Brick B-Lead), but memories about this Peavy still warm my heart, it had a cool clean channel worth mentioning.
wow 9 years ago my 1st entry its now 10 3 2024 what year is this amp? Sounds good Do you think this compares with fender tone It does to me on the video
Great demo. But I'm just curious--- I know the amp has a bright/dark switch. Do you have the bright switch engaged for this demo? If so, do you always have it on? Or do you disengage it on occasion--- using it on " dark". Do you find both the bright on-- or off-- to both be useful?
i have the same amp, but for some reason when i play for a few minutes, the sound cuts off and i get this loud screeching sound and then no sound comes out. i have to wait till the tubes cool off before i start playing again. any suggestions or help with this?
Your mic recording is phenomenal. Most of the other videos on this amp don't do it justice. Thanks for showing what this beast can do!
Thanks James !
Exactly my thoughts.
What's the mod you mentioned about removing the 3rd gain stage. Would you please explain. Thank you

yes,,lots of amp,,,very affordable---200 bucks,,loud as a sumbitch too
I love my VK112 🐢

Finally... a good player doing a demo.
Amen bruddah, i just drunk texted like 4 sh!tty attempts at reviews, as I know this amp kills, but most retards either cant record or jut talk too much. Thanks man. Love it!
We don't got time for reviews usually lol
I will be buying one in a few days. I hope my playing skills will skip forward a few years to match yours....just through this purchase alone. Thanks for the demo. Really great.
Hey, did you get it, is it all that you thought it would be?
I have a Valve King 100 and I love it. The cleans are so good on it with the bright switch on. Really good for such a cheap amp.
If only all amp reviews were so simple! Thanks man.
Finally someone reviewing this that doesn't just jump from clean to overdriven metal
@@j.j.riverhill2831 glad you enjoyed it !
Great post, and great guitar playing, makes the amp quality really shine through. A really underrated amp!!!

Thanks ! Currently my go to is a peavy delta blues 1x15! Sleepers for sure! Don’t tell anyone 🤫 😅
At last somebody with tuned guitar! Thank you! By the way....nice presentation!
I love the Texture control on this amp. I leave it halfway and get that Classic rock gain structure that i love so much.
That's what I love about it. I tried some of these out next to Marshalls and some very pricy boutique amps and it positively crushed them. Valvekings are brilliantly engineered.
I loved this demo because you played a wide variety of styles... There's a lot of videos on youtube just playing metal with super saturated sounds
NIce playing and the amp sounds great. I own a 2x12 amp. You could play this amp on any stage or bar without any problem. It's a durable and dependable amp.
Great playing, various styles...impressive!
Awesome tone and playing. I never thought the valveking has a very nice clean almost fendery. Even the reverb is great.
getting one of these off craigslist too...my first tube amp, so stoked!
Great demo. Bought one of these from a pawn shop for £99. Great little amp. Gig-worthy but OK at bedroom levels too.
Nice ! Yea absolutely pop a mic 🎙️ in front you’re good to go!
You did a good job of showing the tone's available from this amp. I just bought this amp for $80 off craigslist ! Can't beat that deal for an american made tube amp anywhere.
If you got that for only $80 then the ‘real’ owner might still be looking for it 🕶 🤣
@@daveylee4677 thanks for stopping by to practice your comedy routine.
This wasn’t American made though. American company, made in China

jj tubes,,never heard of them
Fender rated the hot rod devilles at 60w with 2 6L6s.
Fantastic guitar player!!!!
Excellent review.Received mine today.Play with my Gibson SG 2004

daryll m roberts ,I just got the Marshall DSL20cr & thinking about returning it for this. What do you think ??
@@soberdave09 I have a Valve King 20MH head. It sounds great.
Excellent playing!
Nice playing. That's one versatile amp. It's great it has the clean and dirty channel. Thanks for the demo!
Very informative, really good demo. Thanks!
great job! great playing! thanks
Great sounding amp.
Dude, this is a fucking geat demo. The Beatles at the end sealed the deal. 10/10 my man. Thanks.

Is the original speaker still inside? It sounds great. It was my amplifier for years when I started playing guitar, but I forgot it's quite old.
Thanks ! I believe it was original speaker
Best review I've heard on this amp yet. I play mostly clean so you gave a GREAT presentation of that.
nice phrasing!
Good enough to me. Very good playing, man. You've sold me this amp
Thanks for posting. Nice chops!

Freakin great review! There's one going secondhand for £160 here...gonna get it cos of you, dude!
that's a fenomenal price! was something wrong with the Tubes?
Great amp. descent cleans and very good overdrive and distortion. Loud and perfect practice amp.
I'm actually picking this amp up on Thursday from my Uncle.
Have the same amp. With my Strat Plus sounds very good. Love it)
lots of tone coming out of his hands. I like the way he plays.
great preview,thanks a lot.Nice sound
Great video!! Compliments!! And let me ask you, what is the speaker of the on this video?? Thanks!!
Nice clean channel. Been looking at one of these.
Finally someone who actually can play! Compliments on this demo!
Great demo, and very good playing :)
BEST REVIEW OF THIS AMP YET. Id like to find one cheap.
Wow! That must have been the day I wasn't looking, or I'd have TWO of these :D
This sounds great. I cannot get my driven channel to sound like that!! Clean sounds great though
Great review, great playing. I just picked one up for cheap. it may need toobs.
Really love your playing... where can I (we) find more? ...also love the 112 Valve King
(the old one) and can't wait to get one for me very own!
Jonny Beck thanks man!

beautiful fan, nice touched guitar...

Good playing and nice amp
Nice playing, nice amp too.
Nice chops! Amp sounds good too-
Thanks man!!
Awesome! In Brazil this very same amp (new) costs around 3000 BRL (something around 1500 USD). Ain't that great? ¬¬
Great playing.
It's damn good for metal - played it on Schecter Demon yesterday and I'm craving to buy this amp now)))
Oh, a quick update since you have highlighted my comment 😄 It turned out it could play even better than I expected since my guitar had stock pickups, not EMGs or Seymour Duncans. Original tubes? Great playing,
Man! What pedal u use on 9:00 on the video??? I loved this one. (not the tube screamer, but the others)
+Marcelo Mazzucco Cechinel Doesn't he say it's a tube screamer?
Nice playing!
Echoes of King Charlemagne - sounds great!
M'y second good tube amp nice
Playing
My bet is it's the neighbours calling (Too loud);D
I have this amp in my collection and enjoy it. Well done, thanks
very nice amp ! how is the lead channe;, has enough gain for metal? and which scla eu play at the beginning? :P thanks :)
Great review
Nice pickin bro
Mark Knece thanks !
Do you have the stock speaker or another?
What song did you first play?
Great playing! : > )
Could you please tell me what the name of the effect pedal you engage near the end of your video. Nice swirly-sound. Thanks.
I believe it was a Leslie g guitar pedal
Do you still have it?
I don’t, but I have 3 delta blues . A 2x10 and 2 1x15’s. Really great peavy amp!
Very nice
Great demo, signal too wet though 😞
wow 9 years ago my 1st entry its now 10 3 2024

Yea it does !

Never been a fan of bright on amps. Too much treble for my taste
Nice comping!
I have this amp, good demo. "Like."
Does it take pedals well or color the sound of them to much on the clean channel?
ts9 add more cream on the the dirty channel; effects loop does not suck the tone; i just wish the reverb has footswitch control
Should put a brownie cmatmods distortion threw it
i have the same amp, but for some reason when i play for a few minutes, the sound cuts off and i get this loud screeching sound and then no sound comes out. i have to wait till the tubes cool off before i start playing again. any suggestions or help with this?
I know this is seven years ago but sounds like a bad tube or tube socket
Excellent
Better than a hot rod deluxe. By a landslide..
"tone's not that great?!" no way, that's a great single coil clean sound
Arrow Fitzgibbon thank you, I stand corrected 😊
Fab!
Loud enough for a live gig?
Smaller rooms yea . Always never hurts to mic and put a little through the PA
@@BrianSancesMusic If you have played a Classic 30 could you compare, thanks. Great sound btw
