She didn't do that and that was her mistake. I couldn't tell the difference between Mahendra Kapoor and Rafi for several years. But Mahendra Kapoor never became as famous because he was a copy. Amit Kumar never became really famous as he resembled his father. There are thousands of great MJ impersonators. Are any of them famous? No. Even Lataji started of by mimicking Noorjahan's style of singing. But she had the brains to understand that she had to develop her own style or she wouldn't survive for long. Ashaji deliberately chose to sing different types of songs from Lataji and she became legendary with that style. It's like a work of art. No matter how good the imitation may be, the fact remains that it is just an imitation and not the original. And while it may be difficult to tell for an average person but an expert can always tell the difference and that makes a copy just worthless. And it is the reason why music composers still preferred Lataji over Sumanji. And for this dumb allegation as to Lataji ruined her career, the reason Sumanji got as many songs as she did was because of Lataji's spat at the time with Rafi. @@roadtoheaven9838 Sumanji was a copy of Lataji. Have u ever heard of a copy being more or even as successful as the original? It was upto Sumanji to change her style of singing. She didn't do that and that was her mistake. I couldn't tell the difference between Mahendra Kapoor and Rafi for several years. But Mahendra Kapoor never became as famous because he was a copy. Amit Kumar never became really famous as he resembled his father. There are thousands of great MJ impersonators. Are any of them famous? No. Even Lataji started of by mimicking Noorjahan's style of singing. But she had the brains to understand that she had to develop her own style or she wouldn't survive for long. Ashaji deliberately chose to sing different types of songs from Lataji and she became legendary with that style. It's like a work of art. No matter how good the imitation may be, the fact remains that it is just an imitation and not the original. And while it may be difficult to tell for an average person but an expert can always tell the difference and that makes a copy just worthless. And it is the reason why music composers still preferred Lataji over Sumanji. And for this dumb allegation as to Lataji ruined her career, the reason Sumanji got as many songs as she did was because of Lataji's spat at the time with Rafi. All the duets with him at the time were sung by Sumanji. Else she wouldn't even have gotten those songs.
